Edward Norton is kind of an odd choice for Saturday Night Live host. Although he did recently star in in The Lonely Island’s music video, Spring Break Anthem, with Andy Samberg, Zach Galifinakis, James Franco, his last movie was 2012’s Moonrise Kingdom. Usually hosts are pimping something.
But it’s cool. It’s fun to watch Edward inhabit other characters. He’s a gifted impressionist and has great comic timing. Take a look at some of the night’s best skits.
The opening pokes fun at the cluster eff that is Healthcare.gov.
Edward Norton’s monologue was going swimmingly. I was delighted when Alex Baldwin appeared. But then my buzz was totally harshed when Miley Cyrus made a cameo. Like…WHYYYYYY? She wasn’t even a very good host. She has advice for first time host, Norton. Is the joke that he hardly needs advice from the acting-challenged Miley?
Twelve Days NOT a Slave
This parody imagines what it would be like if Wes Anderson directed a horror movie. Delicious. My favorite bit of the night. Norton and the cast were A+.
