Duet’s Johnny Gray – Was He Disqualified?

Duet’s Johnny Gray who was one of John Legend’s duet partners, was replaced this week by a new contestant–Melena Brown.  The show’s host, Quddus,  didn’t go into detail, but it was implied that Johnny dropped out.

Not so, according to the ex-contestant.  Here’s what he tweeted tonight:

@just_bam I promise you bro, if I had been on this week, I would have been #1, GUARANTEE! Did they explain why I’m gone? #Duets @DuetsABC

@just_bam it’s not right, but I’ll have my time to talk about it, God works in mysterious ways.

@just_bam @lucke13 Don’t get it twisted, Johnny Gray didn’t “drop out” y’all know after being #2 in 1 episode, I was coming back to kill!

@BenjaminMKurt I can tell you that I didn’t “drop out” and hopefully soon, I can talk more about it. Y’all will be THE FIRST to know.

It appears that Johnny was disqualified for some reason. Hm. I’m sure more will be revealed. In case you need a refresher, here’s Johnny singing “Ordinary People” with John Legend from last week’s show.
