Derek Hough On Julianne’s Blackface: “It Wasn’t Her Brightest Moment” (VIDEO)

After last night’s Dancing with the Stars, pro-dancer, Derek Hough (He’s partnered with Glee star, Amber Riley) spoke out on his sister, Julianne Hough, unfortunate Halloween costume.

“She didn’t mean anything by it and she just really wants everybody to know how sorry she is,” Derek continued. “Hopefully we can move on.”

Derek conceded that the incident was not one of her better choices.

“Julianne is like the sweetest person on the planet, and it was just, it wasn’t the brightest moment… in her life and hopefully it’s a blip in her life,” he continued. “She’s sorry and apologetic and she just wants people to know that.”

Julianne, who departed from DWTS to embark on a movie career, dressed up as a character from the Netflix series, Orange is the New Black. She tanned up her face with makeup in an attempt to resemble the African American character, in effect, donning Blackface for Halloween. As expected, the reaction wasn’t positive.

Not amused at all, is talk show host, Wendy Williams, who spoke out on the incident on her gab fest today

“She grew up Mormon. She only thought that there was one kind of alcohol until I guess she arrived to Hollyweird and discovered you can drink something different every minute of the day,” Williams told the audience. “Does she get a pass if she grew up out there? Because I’m thinking there’s books and there’s internet and TV…the world is your oyster.”

She said that Julianne “should know better.”
