Democratic National Convention Day 2: Bill Clinton, Alicia Keys and More

History was made at the Democratic National Convention when Hillary Clinton became the first woman to become a candidate for US President. The roll call of states, delivering their votes had a few touching moments, including when candidate Bernie Sanders brother delivered an emotional tribute to his brother and their parents. Vermont was saved for last,

Upset Bernie supporters were still at it. After the roll call, a bunch of them walked out and staged a sit in the nicely air conditioned media tent! People, your guy lost. Time to process and move on. Democrats have work to do.

The keynote address was delivered by Former president Bill Clinton, who walked delegates through Hillary Clinton’s history in public life and their relationship. The speech was a little rambly, but it did serve to humanize his wife, and deliver a few tidbits of information about her public life that the general public may not know.

After Alicia Keys performed “Superwoman”, Hillary Clinton made a surprise appearance via video where she talked about breaking the glass season and how young women in the audience could be the female presidents of the future.
