Demi Lovato dished on the new seasons of Glee and X Factor when she visited Live with Kelly and Michael in New York City this morning.
The deal with Glee came together really quickly. She got the call from producer and co-creator, Ryan Murphy, a couple of days before her birthday trip to Africa. The contracts were signed while she was away and when she got back, she went immediately into filming! On the musical comedy, she’ll play Dani, a new love interest for Santana (Naya Rivera).
Demi, who is returning to X Factor as a judge this season, reveals that the secret to her relationship with Simon Cowell is that she’s not intimidated by him at all. “I see him as a really good person with a really great heart and a mean exterior.”
She confesses that she gets him to confide in her when he’s down. And that she’s seen him cry on set this season and last. She wasn’t asked her opinion on Simon’s impending fatherhood. I have a feeling that question was on the “do not ask” list from Demi’s publicist.
As far as her new panel mates, Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio are concerned–they get along great, like sisters, Demi says–giggling at lunch like BFFS.
The new seasons of X Factor and Glee return to FOX on September 11 and 26, respectively.
