I just found this I've been wondering why Analog Heart got pulled and who pulled it. I wish he release it -it's so good. I love the way HE writes-the words he chooses are perfect! I have all the songs form Analog Heart but I wish the "not yet" Cook fans would get to hear them!

Lucky for me, I just bought my Analog Heart download yesterday, right before it was pulled. This is so frustrating to see the CD pulled and I also wonder why.
As a HUGE David Cook and AI fan, I know exactly how I plan to channel my frustrations.
By VOTING for David Cook Large and Loud tonight!!

Here's hoping David is also able to channel his frustrations into his Andrew Lloyd Webber performance tonight and knock it out of the ballpark once again!
This could be an excellent opportunity for our favorite AI Rocker to reach down and pull out another winning performance.
Movie directors are known for pulling out performances by creating difficult scenarios for their actors to deal with.
What this rising star has shown us over and over again that he has the ability to transform a song and own it.

So take this little setback and turn it into something incredible David!

Get your dialing fingers ready fans. If you want to voice your opinion so it is heard by David and TPTB at AI, Vote like crazy tonight.

Pick up the phone tonight and Vote for David Cook EARLY, right after the phone lines open. Repeat and continue to Repeat for the next 2 hours!!
By voting early, you can assure David Cook gets the front runner position on dialidol.com, which uses the busy signal to accurately predict the winners.

Also, you can quickly check dialidol.com for preliminary AI stats right after the voting begins. Last week, David Cook was listed as being #1 on this site, just minutes after the voting began. The numbers changed a little later that evening and also adjusted the following day. David A's numbers went down and David Cook's numbers increased. David established an early lead and continued to build momentum as the phone votes continued to grow.

Good Luck tonight Cookie.
Ready, Set, DIAL! :clap_tb:

I told you Monday that à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“American Idolà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ contestant David Cookà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s album à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Analog Heartà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ was available for downloading on Amazonà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s MP3 site. It was so popular that it rocketed to No. 1, beating Mariah Careyà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s latest release.

This statement is ridiculous Analog heart was only available at Amazon digital downloads. People who are buying Mariah's newest are either buying the CD or downloading it at iTUNES. NO WAY was Analog Heart outselling Mariah Carey. That's a misleading and ridiculous statement.

And the business about making an end run around 19. Believe me, nobody makes an "end run" against those guys. They make it their business to know everything that's going on. Last year, less than 24 hours after I posted some spoilers, one of their lawyers left a message on my home phone. 19 has known about Analog Heart from day one, no doubt.

Friedman has pissed me off before. Particularly with his Clive ass-kissing in the Kelly Clarkson affair. It was so obvious he was taking his marching orders from somewhere.

Cook seemed to be doing an end run around his contract with the show and management group before the contest ended.

This is a totally unfair and crappy thing to say.

ETA: Too bad he didnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t take the extra 24 hours between articles to do some research and correct his mistakes, or at least point out the others who have albums for sale.

Exactly. This guy's a total dick.

I agree with those who are saying Cook pulled the album himself. That's what I think too.

That Fox article made me angry because, as MJ pointed out, there are many factual errors.

Saying "he already has an album out" and that it's "on the charts." And that's only a couple of them. Ridiculous. And MJ is right, he doesn't care.

I also posted a blog trying to correct the things Friedman wrote, but it's hard to get around the major news networks. I have a feeling I'll overhear some people in my office talking about him being a cheater or something like that. It always happens when stories like this come out.

Very frustrating. I'm sure it will blow over though. It's probably better to pull the album for the remainder of the competition and just focus on that.

I agree with Michelle. First they imply he's "cheating" by doing covers - which everyone on the show does. Now they imply he's a pro and that it's unfair for him to be in the competition against a bunch of amateurs. All he has is a self-produced CD while others in the competition had major record deals. They could hardly be called amateurs. But that's the impression the Friedman article created.

Nice of Friedman to take credit for the album's removal:

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,352069,00.html#6

It was there and now it isn't.

I told you Monday that "American Idol" contestant David Cook's album "Analog Heart" was available for downloading on Amazon's MP3 site. It was so popular that it rocketed to No. 1, beating Mariah Carey's latest release.

Tuesday, however, "Analog Heart" has been digitally removed. It's gone. Although a link remains to see the album cover, the ability to download it has been removed from the site. Additionally, the audio snippets for each song have been removed as well.

What remains are the 91 reviews from enthusiastic Cook fans who did download "Analog Heart" before "American Idol" had it pulled down. One can only wonder what's gone on backstage with Cook and the "Idol" producers, particularly the folks at 19 Entertainment. Cook seemed to be doing an end run around his contract with the show and management group before the contest ended.

ETA: Too bad he didn't take the extra 24 hours between articles to do some research and correct his mistakes, or at least point out the others who have albums for sale.

I donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t believe DC is necessarily being singled out. Look at poor Archie and the controversy around his dad. That canà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t be good for him as he tries to compete in this contest.

Scandal seems to follow many of the Idols. Ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s nothing new. Friedmanà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s article bugged me, because he got some things wrong, and left out important details.

What bothers me is that between the cover "controversy" and now this, there's this insinuation that David C. is cheating his way through the competition. David A has had negative press too, but it's about his dad and thus not so much his "fault".

Also I feel mad that Friedman's crappy hit piece, inaccuracies and all, could actually have the power to get the album pulled. I suppose it's possible that the timing is a coincidence...but somehow I don't think so.

Maybe(?) it was pulled because it reflects a charting number (i.e., #1 in sales). Ryan has been mentioning in the past few weeks that the idol's sales on iTunes will not reflect any sales numbers. I suppose they feel it is an unfair advantage to whoever is doing better than another.

I would like to add that I find the removal of the CD from Amazon is just so patently unfair, when so many other idols, past and present, are not having the same issue. i.e, Taylor, Constantine, etc.

I really donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t think ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s fair for it to be pulled now the paying customers of Amazon, drove it up to #1 and now everyone else has to scatter to find it. It is possible that I may have unleashed a sh*tstorm of sorts, if you saw the long list of people I sent my complaint to.

I think you'll find that FOX could care less. Actually, you should have addressed your letter to 19, the people who produce the show. But I can assure you--they don't care either.

CDBaby.Com sends all of the tracks from their Indie clients over to Amazon for their MP3 site.

This was probably à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“in the worksà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ before David became famous on American Idol, as CDBaby artists were slowly being added to Amazonà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s site in November 2007.

Hmm, that's very interesting to know. I think Amazon lists it as appearing in early December 2007, although many people swear it wasn't there until some time in March because they searched for it earlier in the AI season. It really was just "discovered" by the fans about a month ago. Weird.

I think Amazon lists it as appearing in early December 2007, although many people swear it wasn’t there until some time in March because they searched for it earlier in the AI season. It really was just “discovered” by the fans about a month ago. Weird.

I wrote a (slightly threatening) email to FOX because I resent being a paying customer, when now it can only be downloaded illegally for free (except for that other place I that just now found out about here). Ok, well I threatened Class Action. I really don't think it's fair for it to be pulled now the paying customers of Amazon, drove it up to #1 and now everyone else has to scatter to find it. It is possible that I may have unleashed a sh*tstorm of sorts, if you saw the long list of people I sent my complaint to.

I can't feel all that sorry for DC on this one. He's still in the competition and getting press because he is one of the frontrunners.
