How completely fabulous is that? And I'll bet he was the only one not wearing black clothes too. I love that he's got the time and resources to be trying some new things for the next record. So many great idea in this thread, I can't pick. That's the interesting thing to me about Dave, he's so versatile and I love every darn thing he does. Rockingout!Dave is my favorite Dave, so I'm hoping the next record won't be quite as processed and homogonized as the first one was (by necessity) - a little more rocked up, more along the lines of how Dave and the band worked the songs out over the tour. And while for myself I tend to like the more complex songs that stand up to repeated listening, I would agree with those that have said that a couple of catchy, radio friendly rock songs would be an excellent idea at this point. Make Beleive has some potential in that regard (work on the verses Dave!). I'm sure we'd all be happy campers if bf had the next Use Somebody on DCTR2. I'm very curious to see where the piano driven elements fit in, it's interesting in that regard that CK has a strong piano background. And yes yes, yes to playing up Dave's wit and sense of irony in some of the new songs - an entire record of emo is a whole lot of emo.
