That puppy is precious. I’m guessing Scottish Terriers don’t get much bigger? I know the logic behind the whole thing was to get a dog that would be managable on the tour bus, but hmm… a small Terrier might just be a bigger “terror” than a Great Dane. LOL

The TOML Plaque sure is appealing to the eye. Why won’t RCA release that photo so not only the residents of DC’s home get to enjoy it?
Looks good up on the wall. Hopefully it has a new companion there within the next couple of months.

Yeah! A Terrier. I’m partial to say the least. Male scottoes can get near to 22-25 pounds so they are a nice sized medium dog. My Westie is very similar and all terriers can be a demanding breed. Plus they are barkers. I’m not sure “the road” is a good place for a puppy. I have no idea how a dog will learn routines in that environment. Good luck to everyone involved (they are going to need it).

Stalker-lite question: Does anyone recognize which guitar this is on the wall behind him? Is this the Luna he got as a gift on AI (which we never saw him play other than “Sharp Dressed Man”)?

Oh, I loved that guitar. I know why he can’t play it anymore but at least it’s good to know he keeps it somewhere nice.
While trying to determine if this is indeed that guitar I found this picture with it that I can’t remember seeing, and also this behind the scenes Making Of video. I don’t know how I missed these before.

I wonder if AI tipped the Luna people he was gonna win so they’d put in the extra effort. No one else got a custom made guitar, IIRC.

Was David even in that video? I rewound it five times to look at the puppy. Cyuuuuute. I’m looking forward to the Kimmel appearance even though I’m sick to death of live performances of Light On at this point.

It’s almost mid-January – how long are they gonna wait to announce dates and put tickets on sale? I’m thinking dates and initial ticket sales have got to start very, very soon, like this coming week.

I’m so pleased he showed us the platinum hanging in his home. He’s got a lot to be proud of regarding this last year, my best wishes to him for the coming year, which I hope will be even bigger and better. I’ll do what I can to contribute to that, although I think my husband’s tolerance for “merch” is going to have a pretty low threshhold.

All of the top 5 got custom made guitars. I think DC’s was the only electric one, but I watched a video way back where they showed the designs of all of them. I think Jason might have even played his on the show during top 4 week.

Not making any of it up. Only replace Fender with Gibson.

I know the Top 5 all got guitars, what I meant was DC’s seems to be the only one where the guitar was designed especially for him based on his specifications. I think the other 4 are part of their regular catalogue. Eh, it doesn’t really matter, just the making of video made me realize how much work went into it.

One last squee about Dublin – the way the plaque frames his head, it’s like a puppy with a Platinum halo. Cutie!

I think what happened was that they presented him with a right-handed guitar. They had to re-do it anyhow to make it left-handed so he asked for it to be white….that’s all I remember. I’ve never seen Archuleta play guitar. Does he play right or left-handed? My nephew is left handed but plays guitar right-handed (not sure how he plays trombone, but he plays it well).

ETA to add that if it’s a college-only tour I’m ok with it. It sounds like a short one and that he will be back around pretty quickly. That being said, I want to see him yesterday.

Wow, so happy for David and Magic rainbows. That pic of him on the plaque is incredible and he seems so happy and he deserves it! Should we read anything into the playing of Heroes in the background….would love to see it released next. Can’t wait to catch Kimmel now on the 13th, anyone think there’s a chance of him singing his new single? Dublin is absolutely adorable and good luck to David with that puppy stage with him!

Ah, what a cutie. We used to have a westie, and they are awesome dogs—completely secure in the concept that they are big dogs, except to the extent that they believe that they are people. And we all saw how Dublin refused to pander to the camera. Heh.

My guess is that Dublin will hang out on the bus or in the dressing room securely away from where barking can cause problems during shows, unless there is a time that he is specifically brought out to come on stage. I do appreciate that he got some bling, although really, given his current size, the decision not to start layering the bling was probably a very good one.

Interesting that Heroes was the background music. Also interesting, as someone elsewhere pointed out: the tags for the video don’t mention Magic Rainbow (which is kind of a star of the vlog, with the platinum plaque behind him) and only obliquely mention Heroes through a quote of the lyrics. But they do mention LO and Declaration, so the videos that come up as related to the vlog on youtube are LO and Declaration.

Awww Dublin Cook’s debut into the world. Glad that David talked about the college tour and merchandise before he brought Dublin on screen. Because that was the first time I focused on someone else other than DC in a DC featured video. David Cook & Dublin Cook – adorkable. I would so buy Dublin featured merchandise, too.

I think that Dublin will probably gain about 5-8 lbs of muscle, because Scotties are very muscular, sturdy and stocky dogs. Dublin will need to be house trained and camera trained in the coming weeks. Love the rockstar dog collar. And Folk Fan, I pray that Dublin will not be layering the bling like his daddy. 3 bedazzled dog collars would be too much for the puppy.

Dublin was the name of my elementary school. So David and I have something in common. Bwah!

Seriously, is he left-handed? You know, a high percentage of artists in halls of fame are left handed. I remember hearing that and it stuck in my mind. Yes I’m left handed so I tend to believe nutty things like that.

My college has a fair-sized concert hall and gets a lot of well-known bands. I guess it depends on the college.

Hmm, interesting new details on the venue size and asking price…looks like they are really trying to make him accessible.

Darling! The pup & his Dad of course. I saw that vid of the making of that guitar awhile ago & I always wondered what happened to it. It looks great next to the platinum album…the wall of fame…love it! I know Dave will be coming to Oklahoma I just hope he will do both OKC & Tulsa again. Less than 1000 people??? Those will be very small venues for sure and they won’t turn cameras away either! Release those dates already will ya!
