So proud to be a David Cook fan right now, regardless of where the numbers ultimately land. David loves the album. I love the album. That is enough for me.

I feel a Paula ”Standing there in your truth…” moment coming on. LOL. Oh, and I do not think that Circadian is just about being afraid to face the day Mr. Cook. ;)

  • goboywonder

Congratulations Cook & fans your long wait for new music has ended. I’m loving your excitement!!! ENJOY :D:

  • Laurie

I came home to David Cook waiting for me in my mailbox! I am in love with TLM. So worth the wait! There are so many great songs on this album that I am having a hard time choosing my favorites. But the first notes on Circadian had me hooked. I love this man’s voice and musical vision. I can’t wait for the tour!

  • unidentified

Happy for all who got their David Cook music today. Mine didn’t get here, better be here tomorrow. Everyone seems to be liking the bonus songs on the Deluxe Version of This Loud Morning.

It’s such a beautiful CD I can hardly wait. Cool of David to bring dinner to people waiting in line.

  • girlygirl

so far so good on the iTunes chart, with the deluxe album sitting at #5. Funny that Blake Shelton and Maroon5 are sitting at #1 and #2

That’s how I feel about it too, especially after hearing how he feels about it.

I’m a very proud fan as well. I absolutely love the album, it’s better than I expected.

  • music78girl

Got my album in the mail today!! Great job, Mr. Cook. Can’t wait to see you and the boys on the road.

    :)

Happy TLM Eve! Except it’s D-Day now! Hard to drop out of listening mode and post – but here’s this lovely thread – it ought not be wasted. *snerk*

The sound on the Mac with my speakers – it’s addictive. The layers in the music, the instruments, the background vocals – and David’s voice. Heh. If it wasn’t 1:30 in the morning I might call my kid and thank him for these Harmon Kardon sound sticks.

Lyrics, yeah, lyrics to learn, and they’ll be fun to see what people get from them – and Imma look at numbers tomorrow, I guess – they can be fun, too – but I don’t need to – I’ve finally got the music!

  • soverymel

Yay happy album release day for Cook fans! It hasn’t been up on iTunes that long and it’s already at #5, that’s terrific! I’ve always liked David even though I wasn’t into the blogs back during his season, I wish him the best.

  • listen

Can’t believe Cook’s CD is already at #5. Yea for that; let’s see if he can sustain that position for a while…

    Love this man’s voice!

  • spanishfan

Happy happy release day Cookie and all us fans. So happy to see him in his rightful place. I will be watching all day. My cd has not arrived in Marbella yet, but I will keep streaming. Also the two new bonus songs have been added to Amazon samples. Sounding very very good.

  • cookmerized

I want to go to sleep and wake up and find the cd at the top of the iTunes charts. Y’all make that happen now ok?

  • Hellen

Here on Itunes Canada, TLM (Deluxe Edition) is 11th overall and 6th on the Pop Chart. Good job David !

“Available Everywhere Today” unless you were stupid enough to pre-order it from his official website. Not only didn’t I receive any reminder that it was available today, but once I went there the downloader wasn’t working, so I couldn’t download the whole thing. I’ll be damned if I’m going to sit at my computer and download each track individually. Seriously, does any “good deed go unpunished” with these record labels?

Oh, I was stupid enough. I got no reminder, but I went and checked last night and it let me download it. I downloaded it straight into iTunes. It downloaded in the wrong order!!! The songs were all screwed up. I fixed it, but good grief….how can it be that hard???

  • Katya

Congratulations to David and all his fans! Been a long wait, but the record is so worth it. Just checked iTunes, Deluxe version is at #4 right now on the Pop chart (behind Beyonce, Maroon 5 and Adele). Standard version is #18 on Pop chart. Can’t check the overall chart right now, itunes keeps freezing on me :/ Hope it goes even higher up the charts after his Today Show appearance.

  • tinawina

    Happy Release Day everyone!!!

I just got my CD in the mail yesterday. I’m going to celebrate by watching my making of DVD :)

  • Pam

awww Boostar sorry about that. That’s got to be frustrating. :(
I cancelled my DCO preorder after I had such a hard time getting my free copy of DYFAM. Don’t evernget me started on that one. Heh It was like pulling teeth to get it. RCAEd eventually emailed it to me. I preodred the deluxe edition from Wal-Mart after seeing the soundcheck vids and my copy shipped yesterday.

I’m such a goober. My email came in around 11pm eastern last night for my i-tunes download for TLM and I had totally forgotten about it at that point until this morning. lol I’m downloading it now.

  • Shirley

I preordered David’s fan pak last night. I, too, had trouble downloading the two songs DYFAM and TLG. I had hit open instead of save and the Real Player quit playing on DYFAM, so my daughter grabbed her computer from me and started downloading an updated Real Player, and it automatically closed down DCO before I had a chance to save either download. I got an e-mail from them in reply to my complaint, and hopefully will get the situation remedied. I’m very excited about David’s new CD. I think his new single TLG should do very well. I happen to love the song and find it very catchy. Good radio song. I know our local radio station promoted his new CD this morning on the radio and have been playing his new song. Also, Dave is on Today Show (I’m dvr’ing it so I can watch it when I get home). This is a good day.

  • Barometz02

Don’t get too excited about itunes album chart ranking. The digital download represent a small margin of the album sales market. David Archuleta’s “The Other Side of Down” reached #5 Overall and #1 POP on itunes when it was released, but it only sold 24,000 in first week.

  • dadriany

Remember when DC album came out also Beyonces new album was out the same week? And now both debut new cd’s the same day

    Oh, Bootstar, how frustrating!

I felt like a Bad Fan in going with iTunes instead of ordering through DCO, but… it worked. (And I’d actually like to see the artist-store model get some traction to the extent that it can provide extras desired by fans, but… I had my downloads last night in the correct order.)

The vocal layering on Let Me Fall for You is terrific, by the way; the two bonus songs put a twist on both lyrical and musical motifs from the rest of the album.

  • sunchick

It’s herrrrrrrrrrre, all official like. And I loves it. I even understand why the bonus tracks don’t fit the album arc (lyrically, they seem more like an epilogue to the album proper), despite my new addiction to Let Me Fall For You. I can’t even nitpick anymore. I love this album. Fullstop. Oh okay, how bout this for old times’ sake: I think he changed the part in his hair for the Today show. That’s weird. Best live performance of TLG to date, though. (AND no pre-emption for neverending Casey trial coverage from hell.) WTG, boys.

The making of video is verra verra entertaining, btw. Why do guys think it’s hilarious to sock each other in the nuts? I don’t have any desire to randomly nail my girlfriends in the titty for shits and giggles. And why did I laugh? I’m gonna call it the Three Stooges Paradox.

I’m off to tierbee’s bunker for a bit. If you want to come hang, I think the password is Mayday.

    Happy NuMusic Day, Cookverse. :D

  • JazzRocks

Congratulations to DC and his fans. What an exciting day for all of you!

  • tinawina

Best live performance of TLG to date, though.

Yeah, I though so too! LOL @ the hair… it was sort of like a Ken doll. Heh.

  • GwendolynD

It’s a great day to be a David Cook fan!!!

  • Eileen99

    Congratulations Cook fans!!

  • spanishfan

He is also 1 and 2 on Walmart besides itunes and doing very well on Bestbuy and I am sure DCO Stores had a very good opening.

I am so jealous of those who have received their cds as I have to wait for it to arrive in Marbella. I am very tempted to order another one from Amazon and DCO is the de luxe one.

  • tinawina

I just finished watching the “Making Of” DVD. It was great! I actually teared up when he started crying. And I loved when he was talking about the band.

  • tierbee

I actually teared up when he started crying. And I loved when he was talking about the band.

Heh, me, too. I can’t deal with teary-Dave. And I love how much these guys love each other :) I’ve never been a “Oh, I’ll ditch Dave if the band isn’t there!” sort but… I sure like them as a unit. <3 Monty lol.

  • spritely

The album moved back up to 6 on the overall itunes.

The report from Archieland is interesting and actually gives me a little hope. If Archie sold 26,000 without anywhere near the pr push that Dave is getting, it seems to me there’s a fairly good chance the physical stores, etc., will take him somewhere past that. I’d been afraid that in this market, and with all this time that has passed, he’d be doing well to top out at 25,000, but for once I may actually have aimed too low. Well, we’ll see. It is as it is, as a certain handsome and talented singer is known to say. I’m delighted with the album and grateful for it.

  • tierbee

I’m off to tierbee’s bunker for a bit. If you want to come hang, I think the password is Mayday.

Yep, that’s the password. We keep it simple around here. In case you’re already drunk and can’t remember anything… lofty? :)

  • sunchick

I got verklempt, too, at the part where he was all glassy eyed. The band interactions are fun to watch all the way around. I think my favorite bits were Neal talking about the new contrast between the intimate moments and the typical David grandiose moments in the songwriting, and Dave trying to describe Monty. Also, hai random label dude waxing poetic about Circadian!

  • tierbee

Dave describing Monty was so funny and sweet all at once :) But only a guy can explain to me the whole nut-punch thing. Why?! (I have two little boys, though, so I can say that they are inexplicable little creatures from the time they hatch…)

  • kathrynTX

David. David Cook. Yep, I STILL lurv this man, 3+ years later. I would’ve loved him longer but he neglected to tell me to get up to Tulsa or KC and see the show. heh. SOOOO I really like the new album. First single TLG is not my favorite song but I kinda understand why it was the first single – hoping for HAC radio play? I dunno. The HAC station I listen to most doesn’t ever play him. But I think it would fit into their playlists. INNYWAY, been listening to TLM and TQN since I got them Friday! Hey my name is in the Thank Yous on TQN lalala YAY! I know, very silly…can’t help myself. I’ve only watched the DVD 2X. I do enjoy hearing about the making of the record. But mostly, I like listening to the record(s). I love the themed album idea, maybe because I was originally a vinyl-buying woman when I first started buying music. Seemed like most of them had some kind of common thread if not an actual CONCEPT.

SOOOO I will cross my fingers for RADIO PLAY and hope that this record sells. Just give it a chance, if you’re even mildly interested. Love you guys, DC & The Anthemic.

  • BootStar

I finally received an email alerting me the album was available, but the downloader still doesn’t work. I just bit the bullet and downloaded them manually without much hassle. Now of course I’m kicking myself for not ordering it on iTunes. Is there no way to get the video without buying the deluxe album on iTunes?

  • Kirkee

Just wanna say I bought the album this morning on Itunes. Didn’t watch Cook’s season but I’ve been enjoying all the posted vids and I can’t get TLG out of my head.

  • CindyM

Per RCAPromo he’s singing The Last Goodbye on Regis & Kelly tomorrow.

  • HappyDaisy

That’s great, Kirkee! Enjoy This Loud Morning!

BootStar, I think the video comes with the deluxe version. ETA: As sunchick says, ask them to upgrade you to deluxe so you can get the video.

  • sunchick

I’m pretty sure that if you want the video, you have to buy the deluxe album. That’s what makes it the deluxe version, be it digitally or hard copy. Just like if you want the acoustic EP, you have to buy the fanpack, etc etc. At least until they decide to offer it differently. Maybe you can contact RCA to upgrade your album purchase to the deluxe version and they can do a refund/recharge type thing. Personally I’m glad I went for the fanpack. I think it’s worth it.

  • tinawina

Well someone will put it up on YouTube eventually Bootstar. :(

  • sma11ie

I just finished watching the “Making Of” DVD. It was great! I actually teared up when he started crying. And I loved when he was talking about the band.

I know, right? I tweeted right after watching it Monday morning that it made me laugh and cry and smile throughout. And then I was like, WTF, who am I and what have I done with the normal person I used to be?! LOL. I loved the band love on the vid so much.

Maybe you can contact RCA to upgrade your album purchase to the deluxe version and they can do a refund/recharge type thing.

Yeah. The MyPlay customer service email is actually pretty responsive and good about refunds, etc. when I messed up my order.

  • SharB

I changed my order and bought the fan pack. I’m so glad I did. I’m loving the acoustic songs and of course the cd/record. My love for David has grown even more when I saw my name listed in the acoustic cover with the Thank Yous. How special of him to thank us individually for the support. Yep, it’s like Christmas day. Huge smile on my face and glee in my heart. So worth the wait.

Happy cd-release day to all!!!!!! “We Believe” the sales will come and the support is there.

  • smeggingnuts

Congrats you guys I know its been a long wait for you. Happy that both you guys and Cook are happy with the album thats really all that matters.

haha though hopefully they will switch to a new song for radio

  • fadetowhite

Well, naturally, my fan package CD/DVD has not yet been delivered – surprise!

But I downloaded TLM from I-tunes last night and have now listened to it twice through: on my way to work and back.

    1) I absolutely love the way that REM segues back into Circadian, when it repeats on my i-pod: that is genius. I love the dissonant quality of REM (nothing commerical about that song) playing into the slight musical experimentation combined with straight commerciality of Circadian.

    2) GTTG is a brilliant song: one of my favourite Cook songs ever; one of my top songs of the moment.

    3) However corny it may be – and it’s in danger of getting lost in it several times – I also love We Believe: it does what it says on the tin. It’s an uplifting listen.

    4) I also love: Fade Into Me, Hard To Believe, Take Me As I Am and Paper Heart. Lower tier, but they all hit the spot for me.

    5) I like Time Marches On – but it’s never struck me as strongly as it has others. I like the almost spoken verse bits, but I’m not keen on the chorus. TLG really works for me in this context: the album needs it at that point, after and before some heavier songs, but, though it has grown on me, it’s never going to be a song I go for.

    6) And that leaves Right Here With You and Four Letter Word: the only two genuine ‘meh’ songs on the album for me. They have a very similar theme; similar words; similar sound. Possibly that is a deliberate echo, taking on board the circular nature of the album, but neither of them do anything musically, IMO. If one had to stay, I’d take RHWY over 4 Letter Word any day of the week. The latter song just needed to be the spit and vinegar song talked about at one stage, with that title and at that stage of the album and it isn’t. It’s kind of a nothing song.

So there we go. Not a masterpiece – it needed to all be at the REM, Circadian, GTTG standard for that. But a really, really strong album – if you like this kind of thing. It successfully explores musical and emotional highs and lows and sneaks in a good portion of individuality and artistry at the beginning and end.

    Good stuff!

  • standtotheright

Also, hai random label dude waxing poetic about Circadian!

That’s David Wolter. He’s actually a pretty big deal at RCA A&R; he was nominated for a National Association of Recording Industry Professionals award.

A very good person to have in the corner.

  • BootStar

I’ll have to go back and look again. I purchased the digital version and couldn’t find a way to upgrade to the digital version of the Deluxe album. Really enjoying the album. Even “The Last Goodbye,” which I really don’t care for, doesn’t seem that out of left field when it’s surrounded by all those better songs.

  • PRMari

Well, I had pre-ordered the album so I bought it.

  • Willis

I decided to buy Dave’s album at Target. I really, really like Goodbye to the Girl. Paper Heart was good and surprisingly TLG was a standout. Overall I was not too pleased. I think it’s more me and my tastes have changed. Should have bought single tracks.
