What a great guy. He’s got a lot of love and support going his way, and he deserves it.
As someone mentioned before, that David vs. David finale was the best so far IMO. I don’t know if it could be topped. They’re both so adored, for who they are.

Thanks jbean48 for the recap. The cover song that David did was Man in the Box. He does an amazing cover of that Alice in Chains song. I caught it live when he performed in the midwest a few weeks ago.

Thanks MJ for posting all of the David Cook news regarding his brother Adam. It is getting alot of press. I saw it being covered on Larry King and Acess Hollywood. The fans in Athens where he performed tonight showed David lots of love and respect. Many were wearing grey ribbons and they all waved glow sticks in unison. It couldn’t have been easy for him, but I admire his strength and courage.

I attended David’s concert in Athens, Ga., on Monday night. Just wanted to share the setlist and some thoughts from the show. What a pro. He performed to a packed house at the Georgia Theatre. Sorry, i don’t have any video.

The setlist:

No Excuses – Alice In Chains cover (Didn’t catch the title, but I think this is it)

Cook and the band left and then came back for two more after the crowd started chanting “David! David!”

A total of 11 songs. A good mix of his stuff. Lie and Declaration were highlights. But, really, I loved everything. The show was about 65 minutes long — is that shorter than usual, considering the circumstances? — and crazy entertaining. I could have gone for another hour, but I’m thankful he was there at all.

He made one reference to Adam’s death once about 20 minutes into the night. He said he was extremely appreciative of everyone’s support. And by support, he said, he didn’t mean buying albums and concert tickets. His opener, Ryan Star, dedicated a song called “Breathe” to David earlier in the night.

I think the David vs David was the classiest finale ever on AI. As much as the producers may have thought they (and the entire Top 12) were boring, we thoroughly enjoyed the season. One of the best, IMO.

I believe TPTB wanted some kind of major conflict between Cook and Archie, but it never materialized.

HeÃƒ ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s been dealing with this for awhile. I admire him so much for giving of himself at that Race.

Yes, David said Adam has been dealing with this for about 10 years. So sad…

Man I’m so sorry that Cook has to go through this. I can’t imagine battling this for 10 years. I’ve always admired him but I really give him kudos for running that race and still fighting against the disease that took his brother.
Cancer sucks…..I’m an oncology nurse and I have seen firsthand the toll it can take on someone…it’s a hard road and i’m glad Adam is now resting in peace.
And Archie….what a doll. How nice of him to release that statement, he is such a kind person.

So, so proud of David Cook. I’m glad he was able to speak a little light-heartedly in his speech. He was being himself – not a robot. And as we know now, he was able to say his goodbye to Adam the month before when he canceled those two concerts. He’s been dealing with this for awhile. I admire him so much for giving of himself at that Race.

This morning on Good Day LA, Dorothy (one of the entertainment anchors) spoke of Adam’s passing and they showed the clip from Race for the Cure. She mentioned that both Paula and Simon were deeply upset by it. They called Adam a member of the Idol family.

Not only am I proud of David Cook that despite the adversity that has happened has stood himself on the ground, stayed strong and shows his loving heart to the people of the world. I salute him.

But also, I am proud of the late Adam Cook who decided not to get anyone direly involved in his disease. He kept it to himself as a noble gesture so that David would not be distracted in reaching his dreams and etc. He showed loads of selflessness and I hope he rests in peace.

My heart is with the Cooks now. May they find the willpower to move on.
