Totally slow news day…so I thought I’d post a few random David Cook videos that popped up over the weekend.

Both show David’s sly, dry sense of humor…

In the first one, A mysterious dude, covered head to toe in green latex, “dances” while GRO plays. That’s David. Who could miss his giant cranium? Heh. The hilarity went down Saturday night as the guys played pranks on each other–it was GRO’s last date as tour opener. Fun fact: The SYTYCD boot song for the guys, “On Your Own” is Green River Ordinance.

In the second, David interviews a rather startled looking rubber chicken (that open mouth. EEP). I hear the chicken has become some sort of tour mascot…

The questions are culled from the dozens of stupid questions David’s been asked on his many press interviews over the past year.

Videos after the JUMP…

David Cook is Green Man

David Cook interviews a Chicken

  • kw

This guy cracks me up. LOL

  • chicksineggz

    LOL.
Love the turkey question. Totally agree.

  • tinawina

I had a number of good laughs at this stuff this weekend. The boy is a nut.

  • brie200

I swear the music industry is ridiculously small. Green River Ordinance are also really good friend’s of Jason Castro’s. The band is from Texas, so I think he knew those guys pre-Idol.

  • SashaB

I loved this. Total satire on the lame-ass interviewers and interviews he’s had to do. Heh. Just heh. Well done, David.

  • Keel

Inane and random interview questions FTL!

ETA: One letter change makes a huge difference.

  • snuffles

OK, the stage chicken stuff was pretty funny. Gotta me one of those!

  • Aileen

This may have been the inspiration for the Stage Chicken interview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mstI1kU-9tw

Do we know if that lovely interview was before the chicken one? That was really painful to listen to.

  • Ashley19

    :lol_ee:
Just when I think I can’t love him any more than I already do…

  • Suzanne

Oh Lord. Green guy is wearing Superman dancers “pants” from the 50′s.

A ficus grows between us–creative, but a little slow. Just saying that the editing could be a little crisper. But for musicians, they’re awesome sketch comedy producers.

  • Suzanne

I just saw that it’s “A Ficus Flows Between Us”–Is it me? Rivers flow; ficuses grow. Oooh–so close on the funny title.

  • suenigma

A ficus grows between us’“creative, but a little slow. Just saying that the editing could be a little crisper. But for musicians, they’re awesome sketch comedy producers.

LOL. I think that Cook’s uncharacteristic “um, um’s” and monotone voice, as well as the awkward pauses, annoying paper rustling, excrutiating pace and overlength are part of the parody. Quite subtle and risky actually – he’s kind of relying on people to get it.

  • Hazehel

On this one you can hear what the soundman did with the voice of GRO vocalist Josh –
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=juLG52JeC_k
and here you see Andy Skib’s expression when he heard it –

  • s0x_prisoner

Haha, I have one of those chickens! And lol, David is pretty funny.

  • Jolene

LMAO. That David, never fails to make me laugh.

The thing that made me laugh the hardest? The extremely long pause before the credits rolled. The opening shot through the Ficus is a close 2nd.

  • Sassycatz

On this one you can hear what the soundman did with the voice of GRO vocalist Josh -
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=juLG52JeC_k

The Alvin and the Chipmunks voice effect is one of the funniest parts of it, and as I recall, Neal was positioned next to the sound guy at his board. So, who knows who was causing that to happen….

  • maturin

I think the man (and chicken) speak for us all when we hear the one millionth asking of “IS SIMON REALLY AS MEAN AS HE IS ON TV?”

Who will be the first Idol to snap and murder an interviewer after this question?

  • hypertwink

Both clips were awesome. Another thing that’s awesome. David’s tummy is not that big anymore and his body image issues must be in check now because no way could he have dared doing that if he thought he “looked” fat.

P.S. Remember when he said he can’t dance? This clip disproves it since the boy has rhythm.

  • Michelle

LOL, well, I am glad David seems to be having fun :D and wow, the balls it would take to put on the green spandex after that past traumatic experience with the same fabric on national tv!

lmao at the turkey question. yes indeedy.

  • Cate

That chicken belongs in the Adam/Kris dance during DSB!

  • jenipop

I was at the show when he came out dressed as the Green Man & I knew right away that it was David. He looked slimmer, but there was no doubt about it. It was hilarious, I was laughing so hard that I couldn’t keep my camera still. I thought he had some great dance moves too, I just wish he would do them more often. I am so glad he seems to be getting over his body image issues. This proved it to us all.

  • sma11ie

I FLOVE the green man! It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is the funniest show. I love that DC is such a fanboy. The main characters on the show are all pretty much narcissistic morons, but Charlie (who is also the green man) is my favorite. The rock-flag-eagle tattoo that DC and Neal have is from one of the funniest bits ever, where Charlie goes into one of his characteristic crazed rants, and sings nonsensically about America (couldn’t find a clip but here are some lyrics: I’m gonna rise up, gonna kick a little ass, gonna kick some ass in the USA. Gonna climb a mountain, gonna sew a flag, gonna fly on an eagle. I’m gonna kick some butt, I’m gonna drive a big truck, I’m gonna rule this world, I’m gonna kick some ass, I’m gonna rise up, I’m gonna kick a little ass, ROCK, FLAG, AND EAGLE!!)

The Night Man musical is also pure genius– music and comedy, when done right, is one of my favorite things. From what I could tell from the show, Charlie’s actually pretty good singer and pianist… DC would be a fantastic guest star on that show. (Aside: I wonder if DC likes Flight of the Conchords too? Cuz I think they are pretty hilarious, and make fun of the whole “groupie thing” pretty ingeniously as well…)

Oh, and the chicken? So… phallic. Haha that squawking will never leave my brain. I loved the snark, and the length, but I’m sure it’s not for everyone (similar to the It’s Always Sunny humor). I did notice, though– was this the first Pork Beans posted on his youtube channel? The others were all on that brightcove thing right? So perhaps a lot of DavidCookofficial youtube subscribers who may not have kept up with the old Pork Beans from DCO are randomly seeing this Ficus Flows Between Us… wonder what they think…?

ETA: And now let’s contrast the green man, with this guy: http://justjared.buzznet.com/2009/08/17/david-cook-disney-world

    Awwww…

  • aga

David really is my kind of guy, boyish good looking, funny, intelligent, down to earth, with good heart and powerful voice like lion. It is so fun to follow him. Thanks MJ for putting these hilarious clips as headline.

  • tierbee

I love his sense of humor.

LOL. I think that Cook’s uncharacteristic ‘um, um’s’ and monotone voice, as well as the awkward pauses, annoying paper rustling, excrutiating pace and overlength are part of the parody.

Yes – that was my take too and that was hysterical. I call it his faux-awkward reporter, heh.

His Green Man got me through my work deadline — how could I fall asleep when I had been laughing so hard from watching him dance around?!

  • sma11ie

David’s tummy is not that big anymore and his body image issues must be in check now because no way could he have dared doing that if he thought he ‘looked’ fat.

I am so glad he seems to be getting over his body image issues. This proved it to us all.

Hmm… how shall I put it? I don’t think DC getting into a green man suit is necessarily any indication that he’s comfortable with his body. In other words, I don’t think fans will see any shirtless performances any time soon. You’ll be surprised how different one’s courage for these things are when it’s done in humor, like with the VH1 armpit farts. DC’s never been shy about making fun of his own pudge or his tummy, but self-deprecation is different from being over one’s body image issues.

Honestly, I don’t think DC is fat, cuz he looks normal to me, but I’m just gonna say it, even under the spandex, I can tell he definitely is still really really out of shape, especially for a 26 year old guy. The tummy isn’t huge, but it’s a bit flabby and definitely still there– his body type clearly retains weight around the midsection. Not that there’s anything wrong with that (TM Seinfeld). It’s just that unless DC suddenly decides to work out like crazy (doubtful), even if he keeps “losing weight” his body won’t change too much, nor will his body image issues– but that’s fine. So he’s not gonna be toned or trim– as long as he’s healthy, I think it’s great that he’s normal, and I still find him attractive, especially when he’s singing, and that’s what matters to me ;).

  • Renina

This is awesome!! LOL I love that little video interview. “scholars have wondered for decades, maybe even years…” Great.

IDK I might check out some David C stuff after watching these, I just hope his music is as intertaining as these videos.

  • tierbee

sma11ie, have you seen him in person? He looked so small to me… slender. Clearly not a guy who hits the weight room a lot so he isn’t going to be “ripped” but he looks like he’s lost a ton of weight. I remarked at the last show I went to that he’s shrinking, lol.

  • Hazehel

  • sma11ie

sma11ie, have you seen him in person? He looked so small to me’ ¦

Actually I have, and it’s true he’s smaller in person, but like I said, I think he looks normal to me, and not fat. It’s just that I still think he’s out of shape… and truth be told, flabby, haha. It’s okay, you can’t really see too much flab with clothes, just with the spandex.

But anyways, his size is not a huge deal to me, but for some reason, whenever I hear fans say how thin he is, I have this need to chime in with an alternate perspective, cuz I really don’t think he’s thin, nor will he be really “fit” anytime soon, even if he loses more weight without working out… BUT THAT’S OKAY, cuz even so, I still love him, he still looks good, and I don’t think he’s fat. Hope that makes sense. Hope I didn’t offend anyone!

  • tierbee

I think he looks normal to me, and not fat. It’s just that I still think he’s out of shape’ ¦ and truth be told, flabby, haha.

No, I hear you – he’s not buff, but not fat. Normal guy, indeed. Just one with a really sexy smile and voice, hehe. And skin… you know, I just have to get over my skin envy. It ain’t *right*, but that always happens with boys. My little boys have the longest, prettiest lashes… why? They don’t need them. Where are MINE!?

Another video of the Green Man that showed Andy’s reactions to Josh squeaky singing

Hee hee, I love Andy cracking up like that. He always looks so *serious*. Too funny. I bet that was a blast.

I downloaded “Goodbye LA” off iTunes today – makes me smile to listen to it. I liked the song anyway, but now I have happy visions of dancing green David! I was going to wait until I went to their show to buy their album but… need some happy!!!

I have never seen him in a real interview; I was going to ask if he always speaks that slowly. lol. I think it’s safe to say that only Cook fans would ‘get’ this – I sure didn’t. heh

  • SharB

just a few more reasons why I flove David.

  • Keel

Honestly, I don’t think DC is fat, cuz he looks normal to me, but I’m just gonna say it, even under the spandex, I can tell he definitely is still really really out of shape, especially for a 26 year old guy.

Thank you. I always feel so alone when people talk about how he lost so much weight and how slender he looks, and yet I’m sitting there thinking, yeah, but he’s 26!! There’s no reason that he should have all that flab around his middle. I don’t even really think it’s just because of his body type, though that’s definitely part of it. I think it’s also his diet. He sounds like he just eats A LOT of junk (cheez-its, fried foods, pizza, fast food, and likely, lots and lots of beer) and his activities of choice (playing catch, riding a bike to sightsee, etc.) aren’t really that particularly active. His blood pressure meds may also be causing him to retain the weight in his mid-section.

Anyway, still funny regardless and a fantastic singer to boot.

  • hollygo9

oh, man, please tell me that he’s adding ‘Day Man’ and ‘Night Man’ to his tour set now. GO GREEN MAN

  • aga

I was going to ask if he always speaks that slowly.

I watch tons of his interviews. He doesn’t talk fast. He always thinks before answer any questions and he gives very meaningful answers. Thats why I think he is very intelligent. He thinks fast on his feet btw.

he just eats A LOT of junk (cheez-its, fried foods, pizza, fast food, and likely, lots and lots of beer)

At least he is eating low fat cheez-its now and he eats salmons too. LOL. He is just a normal but adorable dude.

  • jmg887

These videos are fantabulous! Who cares what he looks like in spandex (just fine to me), jeans (very fine to me), or shorts (ah..pasty legs FTW!). I will take a bar-food-eating-beer-drinking-cheez-it-loving David Cook any day!

Of course, we could debate this for decades, maybe even years….

  • weareallinnocent

What makes us think Cook has body image issues? That’s a new one for me.

Anywho, haven’t had time to watch the Green Man, but saw the Pork Beans one this weekend. LOLOLOL, especially the turkey question. Too true, and so cute.

Now I have so many Green Man links to choose from, what to do, what to do… :-)

ETA: Ok, watched. LOLz. Gotta say, Adam Lambert’s got nothin’ on Cook in the dress up department. :-) Dance department is a different story altogether. Heh. But, I do love my boys who love to dress up! Thanks for all the links y’all~

  • Keel

wereallinnocent, I think there was that one interview where Cook was asked to talk abou the crazy rumors he’s heard about himself, and he talked about that one Enquirer blurb that said that he was trying out some clothes in an LA store and was so full of himself that he wouldn’t close the doors to the fitting room even when other patrons asked that he do so. Cook’s response was that (1) he was on the other side of the country at the time this supposed incident happened, and (2) he could never do anythinglike that because he has some body image issues.

Still, I’m reminded of Ford Day last year when he recounted the horror ofhaving to wear the green lycra matador outfit for the Ring of Fire Ford commercial (he said he looked like some Sonic the Hedgehog character) and he asked that no one ever ask him to do it again. And yet here he is, less than one year later, voluntarily donning yet another green lycraoutfit. Heh. At least heno longer looks preggers. (C’mon! I was on TWoP last year and that’s what everyone was saying. Wasn’t just me.)

  • aga

Thank God that David’s hair isn’t in presence on these two videos. Otherwise, the inevitable David Cook hair discussion will surface again along with the tummey discussion. LOL. I love David Cook related thread. That’s the only reason I come to this site.

  • progression

It’s just so damn fun being a DC fan. Every time you think he can’t surprise you, he comes up with something new. The Green Man might be my favorite DC concert stunt ever – hilarious! Thanks for putting these up MJ.

wow, the balls it would take to put on the green spandex

I’m having a very immature chuckle over this in light of last week’s tour pants thread………

  • Trina

Honestly? I really do think he has lost weight and this is coming from someone who has been vocal about his weight in the past because I’m a health and fitness nut and I hate to see someone like him out of shape..especially considering the type of schedule he’s on, but when I saw him really, really up close at that Skechers event in a somewhat type tee shirt that was actually the first time I saw a difference in his weight (the first time I met him during the tour last year that belly was SO prominent and when I went on rant about how worried I was) so yeah while I can’t ever see him having a ripped body I really do think he’s lost some weight. My only concern is his blood pressure issues and I wish he would start eating better for that purpose mostly.

Those Disney pics are just warming my heart. Those kids are so lucky to have him for an uncle. Geez my brother takes my kids to Dairy Queen when he feels like bonding with them :laugh_tb:

OMG the shorts. I love this man LOL

  • hypnoticwhisper

He looks like a green Spider Man. =)

  • listen

Cookie is such a funny guy! What a goof.

  • Brisblondie

Oh David. Good gosh he cracks me up.

As far as David not being ripped or whatever…he looks really naturally strong to me. His arms and hands are so big.

  • Garnetstar

Good Times! Lovin this guys sense of humor. The green man video was hysterical.

A ficus flows between us is an instant classic.

OMG the shorts. I love this man LOL

Hey, those are the most flattering shorts I’ve seen him in yet!

Love the Green Man and Ficus Flows videos. I don’t think he’s flabby at all- I think his skin just hasn’t tightened up since his weight loss. It just needs time. He looks like a normal 26 year old to me, with reasonably muscular arms and legs, but not ripped. I sure didn’t see any extra weight in the Green Man suit, just a guy with a stocky build. Anyway, where is it that y’all live that the average 26 year old has a 6 pack? It’s sure not the norm here in Upstate NY, LOL. Probably Hollywood is the only place where that’s typical.

  • aga

ETA: And now let’s contrast the green man, with this guy: http://justjared.buzznet.com/2009/08/17/david-cook-disney-world

Awww the Disney pictures with nieces and nephews. Beautiful, just beautiful.

  • Keel

Anyway, where is it that y’all live that the average 26 year old has a 6 pack?

There’s a lot of middle ground between having a 6-pack and being flabby — which is what Cook is. No one’s saying that normal 26-year old guys have 6-packs, but they usually a lot more fit than Cook. Even Cook admits it (can’t remember where, but in a recent interview, he talked about the fact that he was still “rocking the pooch”). But it doesn’t really matter because he makes his living as a musician — not as a GQ model or fitness trainer.

  • Pam

Love love love green man! Oh and the latest Pork Beans…… :lol_tb:

Those Disney World pics are just precious. :)

  • daenarys

Guh… how did I miss all this?! I’m still trying to get through thousands of posts on DCO celebrating his 100th show, that’s why (them’s nutz LOL!).

I saw the Green Man thing first and could. Not. Breathe. It totally reminded me of that Ford Day appearance when he talked about looking like Sonic the Hedgehog – and his whole “yeah, I looked like sh!t, thanks for voting for me folks” vibe was so cute, I just had to see it again.

    This:

(couldn’t find a clip but here are some lyrics: I’m gonna rise up, gonna kick a little ass, gonna kick some ass in the USA. Gonna climb a mountain, gonna sew a flag, gonna fly on an eagle. I’m gonna kick some butt, I’m gonna drive a big truck, I’m gonna rule this world, I’m gonna kick some ass, I’m gonna rise up, I’m gonna kick a little ass, ROCK, FLAG, AND EAGLE!!)

sounds hysterical! I’m gonna have to look up this show now. And I loved Kyle and Andy cracking up at the sidelines, and Andy chasing him at the end. I read somewhere that they all piled up into a pyramid (with Kyle on top) at the end of the concert. We need pics…..

That chicken vid – I need a timeout!

  • Keel

daenary’s, here’s a clip of Charlie’s infamous RFE rant that started it all: http://www.imdb.com/video/hulu/vi2212889113/

I still can’t believe Cook and Tiemann got matching RFE tatoos b/c of this skit.

  • tierbee

    http://twitpic.com/eakio
OMG the shorts. I love this man LOL

Hee, he’s so fricking cute in shorts. And those are definitely, definitely an upgrade from those running shorts he had on in Radford when he was spotted running black-socked Joey. But I was distracted from the shorts by those feet — yeesh, he has big feet. And this coming from a girl who wears a size 11, lol.

  • Sydia

Awww…Cook looks adorable in those white shorts. Quite a perky toosh…I was really curious about the pictures with him at Disney, since I read the thread first. I guess I expected him looking like …I don’t know, “the definately not a rock star” comment confuzzled me. However, he looks soooooo handsome. I guess if he doesn’t have the “rock star” look, he definately has the “dreamy movie star” one for sure!!!!! I guess the Disney pictures are in another thread…

  • daenarys

Keel, thanks! I think finding clips of this show is gonna be my next crack.

As for the chicken vid: this is Parmesana “Crazy Legs” who puts the term “Groupie Chick” into a whole different context LOL. She has a myspace with a blurb that says:

Parm has a new b!tch and she’s back on tour!

    Who she’d like to meet:

Kermit — those bastards keep us apart! The Colonel — I’m gonna bust his chops! Pamela Anderson — for her tireless effort in the fight for chicken rights. Whoever wrote the first “Why did the chicken cross the road?” joke — so I can peck their focking eyes out!

So no, she’s not a fan of that philosophical question. I’m gonna go with Capt Kirk’s answer: “To boldly go where no chicken has gone before”.

She, uh, twits too….and is not unknown to have common sense (during the Joey-gate meltdown, she twittered: Patience, grasshoppers!). I love her. I hope she gets to meet Kermit some day.

  • templeton

Thanks mj. That boy has a damn good sense of humor. That noise the chicken made was quite horrific, lol.

  • wellhesback

Thank you so much MJ for giving Cookie’s humor a wider audience with these vids. and has he ever looked as cute as in those pix from Disney?!
As to whether he’s in shape or not – well, his arms sure are. and those concerts give him an aerobic workout. and he did good time in that Race for Hope.

  • aga

I guess if he doesn’t have the ‘rock star’ look, he definately has the ‘dreamy movie star’ one for sure!!!!!

I like his “none rock star” look. He is very very good looking. Hot and adorable at the same time. I can’t find anyone in the show business with this type of quality IMO.

  • jan

I don’t get the whole Parmesana thing. It’s obviously someone who was first a fan of JD Fortune and is now a fan of David. I don’t get it because how can something fan-created be that interesting. Notice in the interview David never refers to the chicken as Parmesana – it’s pretty obvious that the band has not embraced that name.

  • daenarys

If he was aiming for satire, it sure worked:

-”A Ficus Flows Between Us” – obviously he’s underlining the absurdity of keeping a straight face while the media asks him seriously and earnestly over and over again:

-how he feels about Paula leaving Idol?
    -Adam or Chris?
-how his life has changed since Idol?
    -Is Simon that mean?

Answer: squuuuuuuuaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwkkk! (Meaning: it doesn’t matter)

-The next time somebody starts moaning about “Rock Cred”:

-”You once said that your dream in life is to be deepfriend and sold in
Kentucky Fried Chicken. Has that goal changed?”
-”Which aspect of yourself do u find people most discriminatory of –
the fact that you’re a chicken or that you’re made of rubber?”
-”How does it feel to know that you’ll never be as good as a turkey?”

I’m gonna go with Parm: squueeeeeeeeeee-aaaaaaaawwwwwwwkkk! (Meaning: It really really doesn’t matter)

Brilliant. Of course, it’s also possible he’s just a doofus who talks to plastic chickens all the time. Heh.

  • sma11ie

He looks like a normal 26 year old to me, with reasonably muscular arms and legs, but not ripped. I sure didn’t see any extra weight in the Green Man suit, just a guy with a stocky build. If you look at DC’s pictures from when he was younger, this isn’t a guy with a naturally stocky build. He was lanky. He is carrying a bit of extra weight around the middle. It’s not that big a deal, but he is. Also, I’m 26 and I’m not saying my guy friends all have 6-packs, but most of the ones who are reasonably active are not that flabby. Of course, the average 26 year olds that I know work out in some shape or form– and I don’t live in LA. All that said, these dudes don’t sing like DC, talk like him, are charming like him, look adorable in white shorts at Disney with their nieces and nephews like DC, etc. etc. hehe. Anyway, I’ll say my opinion once more and stop going on about this, I promise: DC is flabby for a 26 year old, yet he is adorable. I heart him.

Thanks for finding the Rock Flag Eagle clip. Yes, I LOVED that episode, haha. Such a funny show.

  • HappyDaisy

As I said on an earlier thread, multi-talented boy, that David Cook.
    wellhesback:

As to whether he’s in shape or not – well, his arms sure are. and those concerts give him an aerobic workout. and he did good time in that Race for Hope.

Great points. His legs also look nice — and fit. I love Cook for the person he’s shown himself to be and for all of the joy he has provided through his music (and comedy). But if pressed to talk about his masculine physique, I’d say he’s also looking mighty fine and trim in that department. :grin1_ee:

  • k4dc

Thanks for posting these vids, MJ. I laughed my butt off when I watched the chicken vid. David’s actually a very good actor. I really hope some day he will get to star in a movie, he’d be fabulous.

The green man? Priceless. What will he think of next?

  • daenarys

Jan, that chicken could be a gift from a fan. Or borrowed from a friend. Or a friend of a friend (he knows a guy who knows a guy…! You’re right, it doesn’t matter and most of us don’t care.

But a plastic chicken is always funny, even if it’s just sitting there (I’m weird like that LOL). A plastic chicken with a backstory and a point of view is hysterical.

David’s random sense of humour is fun (for me): an alligator head, green spandex, even on the gruelling AI7 tour last year his sense of fun didn’t let up (all that ridiculous “dancing” with Micheal Johns using all the “props” that fans delivered night after night), and his dry “I’m just being me, but if you find that’s like a superhero well…*shrug*” kinda sums up the ridiculousness of it all.

  • CathyMK

Even Cook admits it (can’t remember where, but in a recent interview, he talked about the fact that he was still ‘rocking the pooch’ ).

He is nothing if not self-deprecating. He’d also have us believe that he’s not very good at playing guitar, and that he was only the 5th or 6th best singer of Season 7. I’m sure some people would agree with him, but the majority thought he was best.

If you look at DC’s pictures from when he was younger, this isn’t a guy with a naturally stocky build. He was lanky. He is carrying a bit of extra weight around the middle.

Guys tend to fill out between high school and their late 20′s. They’re often very skinny in high school/ early college because they’re growing so fast, then the rest of their body catches up later. It’s not the same as being fat or flabby. But, to each his own, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, YMMV, etc. Lucky you, that you are surrounded by guys who are even more attractive than David, a guy who has thousands of women panting after him.

daenarys, I’m not referring to the chicken itself – that obviously is part of the band’s accessories. I’m referring to the parmesana twitter and myspace – which appears to be just some fan created thing – amusing – but probably completely unknown to David & band.

  • daenarys

As far as I know, the only thing tying the two is someone photo’d David’s touring chicken’s butt and it had the same siggy (heart, Carrie) as the photo profile of Parm on myspace (the fan photo I saw was on someone’s photobucket of the stage at an early show in the current tour). And somewhere along the lightspeed discussions that float around, the myspace cameup, and then twitter (and who could rely on that!). So yeah, I couldn’t ID ‘em from a lineup myself. Maybe they’re totally different chickens. Maybe they’re the same chicken. Maybe they’re the same chicken but with different personas behind them. I understand, we shouldn’t assume anything that’s posted / twittered by Parmesana as referring to Dave & Band.

I can’t help cracking up as I type this though. It’s the chicken thing. I need sleep….

OMG the shorts. I love this man LOL

That is Lindsey Rose’s father (in the background), right?

Good eyes! It sure looks like it.

  • 123abc456

Loved both of these. He is funny. About being “flabby” when you see him live he looks so much thinner. He just does, he is not “flabby” at all. So that is all I have.

  • Jae

I love David. I like his normal guy body and adorable face. I think he is really attractive.:) I voted like crazy for him S7. So glad he is still such a cool guy. Wow Jason and David C in one day. Totally awesome.

  • Seachange

(Aside: I wonder if DC likes Flight of the Conchords too? Cuz I think they are pretty hilarious, and make fun of the whole ‘groupie thing’ pretty ingeniously as well’ ¦)

    Smallie, here you go: http://www.vh1.com/video/play.jhtml?id=1600886&vid=324454

And it’s not the only time he listed them among his favorite music videos.

I also thought all the Porkbeans episodes were in his YouTube channel. But no, they don’t seem to be there.

As to the beer belly, it disappears and reappears, sometimes within the same video or set of pictures. Just as he often appears alternately slim and stocky in pictures taken within the same day. It’s very perplexing. Anyway, I’ve given up rejoicing or despairing over it. Now I just take it as it is, LOL, and keep hoping that someday (not soon, I know) he becomes a healthier eater and lays off some of the beer.

Love David Cook’s humor (although I must confess that with Green Man, as with almost every episode of Mavid, I was horrified first before LMAOing).

And I just love him with the kids (and in those shorts). If I’m not mistaken, Marshall was the nine-day old baby David was shown carrying during the hometown visit on Top 3 week on the show.

I still can’t believe Cook and Tiemann got matching RFE tatoos b/c of this skit.

    Me neither!

Because of my age I could never quite figure out why David has been the only idol to “THUD” me quite the way he does……most likely it’s because he is the WHOLE package wrapped up so nicely with his talent, looks, intellect, humility, & witty humor for starters! Now that I’m a fan of this blog & get these updates on him, I no longer question my THUD – David is sooooooooooooooo worthy – no more head scratching from this old lady! :clap_tb:

  • Sassycatz

This is when I thought David looked his physical best as he shed that weight during his Idol run.

Just wanted to chime in to say that I saw David at the GMA concert, and he is HILARIOUSLY funny on stage when not performing :-) Such a class clown, making faces to the audience, making jokes. Very cool dude. I just love his sense of humor :-)

  • sunchick

    Interview with a chicken….grade A snark. Awesome.

oh, man, please tell me that he’s adding ‘Day Man’ and ‘Night Man’ to his tour set now. GO GREEN MAN

Here, here! The passionate, passionate Night Man rules, of course, but I wouldn’t be sunchick if I wasn’t partial to Day Man…fighter of the Night Man…champion of the sun…cuz he’s a master of karate and friendship for everyone….uh ahhh ahhhhh…. :laugh_tb:

I don’t know what’s funnier…watching Dave dance as Green Man or the fact that Dave wore those superhero looking briefs to um, ensure that Green Man is family friendly. Love him. That is all.

Lucky you, that you are surrounded by guys who are even more attractive than David, a guy who has thousands of women panting after him.

Haha, last word on this: attraction to me is not based on a guy’s build alone. Trust me, David Cook is very attractive to me for so many reasons (alas, wish people would read my whole posts, all of them), much more so than a lot of guys with six packs and what have you. And now I’m gonna stop apologizing for thinking he’s flabby. (Yes, I’ve seen him in person.)

Mary102, so lucky you got to see him there! Any specifics you remember?

Hah, of course DC like Ladies of the World. That song cracks my shit up. Singing about hermaphodites and lady parts and man parts? It’s a goodie. Also, thanks for the link, I completely forgot about this. Has DC ever looked more adorable than on that VH1 playlist thing? Gah. I think I miss that hair now.

ETA: “cuz he’s a master of karate and friendship for everyone’ ¦.uh ahhh ahhhhh’ ¦.”

OMG, can you imagine Kyle and Andy singing the “uh ahh ahhh” parts? LMAO…

OMG, these videos are so funny! Well played DC, well played.

WTF!! The chicken interview is hilarious!!! This just made my day!!

  • oceana

I love David Cook and not for his build, he’s very attractive in many ways.

I noticed when I saw him this month that he is trimmer and looks more fit, and others have mentioned it, so I think he has worked out or been more active or something. It looks good on him. Sure we’d all like to be perfect but it’s not reality for most of us. His priorities seem to be about other things than building a six pack. And thank God! I never liked jocks at all. His priorities appear to be singing and playing music, friends and relationships, being a decent guy, and humorous expression. Not a bad mix. Anyway when you look at his eyes and lips, hear that voice, see how he makes eye contact and how he moves when he has a guitar in his hands, and listen to the words he sings, man, who can worry about his physique? Mama Mia, not me. LOL. He’s a VERY sensuous man, and that has nothing to do with muscles … it’s a very attractive quality in any man.

But I would add, watch him in a year or two from now. I’ve noticed that people on idol change from year to year as they become more stylized, even Daughtry, who are rockers, looked very stylistic when on the Grammys or other talk shows now. David and his band go for the down-to-earth look, and that’s cool, but they can clean up nice too.

  • Mary102

Well, here are my pics from the event (also featuring the lovely Adam and cutey-pie Kris :-) )

    http://picasaweb.google.com/mellocello/GoodMorningAmericaConcertAdamKrisDavidCook8709?authkey=Gv1sRgCNe_-OqrnomfogE#

It was a lot of fun being there! David sounds amazing live, such a rich, deep voice, and lots of energy – he’s just such a natural performer.

  • jan

daenarys, myspace photo of parmesana is very easy to explain. It probably is a photo of the chicken on David’s tour. I could easily steal a picture of that photo or one of David as green man or anything else and make it myspace avi. It doesn’t make me David or the crew or anyone even vaguely connected to the band. The original photo of parmesana from 3 years ago might have looked quite different.

  • AIaddict

I agree with oceana. DC is beautiful for so many reasons. Who cares if his tummy is a bit flabby, not me.

Luv, luv, luv Cookie! It’s killing me to know that he’s at Disney World right now and I live in Orlando. LOL! Those pictures of him with his nieces and nephews are so sweet.

I have watched these videos quite a few times now and they crack me up everytime! His sense of humor and comedic timing is great.

  • movin2thabeet

I’m glad David is finding a way to give all his sides some expression. I’m sure its fun for him and its great for all of us. Keep it all coming – the music, the between song banter, the quirky Pork Beans episodes, and any and all personas that occur to you ala Terry and the Green Man (hey, that sounds like a name of a band).

MrsB., I found this blog last year searching for more info on DC right before the finale and after! I have probably visited it almost every day since. :blush_tb: I agree he is truly THUD worthy!!!! (From another older fan.)

I notice you like Kris too!! We both have good taste! ;)

  • kathrynTX

Thanks MJ for publicizing the random hilarity of our Ido, David Cook! MrsB and cookcricket, I’m an “older” Cook fan too and found MJs while looking for more info on him and Idol during S7. And I do NOT wish to be referred to as a “cougar,” please. Just a huge Cook fan.

He does crack me up but I don’t always get everything he says and does. I haven’t ever watched Always Sunny. But now I might! haha. I do watch and listen constantly though. I haven’t ever heard or seen him do anything to disprove my opinion that he’s smart, funny, hard working, talented, and probably a regular beer drinking I-wanna-be-a-musician guy. I also find him totally THUD-worthy and attractive, from what LITTLE I’ve seen and heard on TV and from 4 live shows (3 of which were Idol shows because I HAD to see him live as soon as possible).

I did like the Ficus Flows Between Us talk show. And the Green Man cracked me up even though I didn’t know about the Green Man on ASIP. And now I know he and Neil have matching RFE tats?? LOL! What goofballs. They’re both adorable, in their own little ways.

Thank goodness we didn’t have to talk about David’s HAIR in this thread. Just his belly. Or lack thereof. Or who cares if he has a belly or not. I have one….lalala.

  • kathrynTX

I felt compelled to add another comment here…because I don’t hang out on DCO very frequently I guess so I don’t really talk about Cook anywhere else lately. haha. He IS beautiful! He’s just perfect. I really like that he seems aware that he is NOT perfect and a typical MAN. He doesn’t take himself too seriously, although he is serious about his music and singing. And the man can SING. And write. And play.

I love Mr. Lambert and Mr. Allen from S8, but David Cook is something else, to me anyway. I’ve been to a lot of live shows, starting sometime in the 70′s, at a lot of different venues, to hear a variety of music genres from hair rock to mainstream rock to country to classical. I’ve played some classical and piano and done a tiny bit of choral singing. David Cook just blows me away with his talent and work ethic. AND he’s funny and smart. Sigh. An attractive combination in any man, I say. He’s beautiful, with any hair or no hair, with a tummy or without, whatever he’s wearing no matter how geeky. He’s just an adorable guy, one to be adored. :wub_tb:
