This new interview clip with David Cook from Access Hollywood begins with his first AH interview, the morning after he won American Idol Season 7. Memories.
But David isn’t there to talk about the past. He’s promoting his new album, This Loud Morning, set to be released on June 28.
His late brother, Adam, was always really involved with the recording process. “I always had to send him the advance copy before it came out, ” says David, “I’ll send the advance copy to my niece and nephew this time around.”
During the writing and recording process of the album, David dealt with stuff–both the good and the bad–that happened to him while he was out on the road promoting his eponymous post-Idol debut. Experiences he had shelved came back up during the writing process. “I kind of had to sort through it while I was writing it, ” says David.
On taking a year and a half to record the album, David says, “It became really apparent that these songs were going to take some time. That we were going to go on a journey and really try to find the right sounds and the right moods and moments for this record.”
Fun fact: Counting all the “stuff before Idol” This Loud Morning is David’s 10th record!
And no. There were no shots of his butt cheeks in the music video for his single, “The Last Goodbye”.
