PS – I read some other general Idol boards for reviews of tonight ep, and seems that vid of the Archie fan meltdown was a highlight for quite a few people. LMAO

I just found Avalanche too! Even with the distance and all the talking in the background, it was still amazing. I can’t wait to see this live. Should make a great radio single too. I hope they release it at some point.

One more thing, David’s voice was hoarse! Did you hear him at the end of LO when he said “Thank you so much?”

ALW did say he was worried about his voice and I often wondered what he saw that I didn’t see.

Lera, I’ve seen/heard the man live fairly recently, acoustic, stripped down, and his voice was stronger than it was on AI. See: Man In The Box, Permanent, HOB

Lera, how long is track 12 on your CD? KOTN is a hidden track, and it’s found 8 minutes after A Daily Anthem ends.
It should be on every hard copy of the CD, including the WalMart version. It is not on the iTunes and Amazon downloads.

Alrighty y’all, I was at Jimmy’s and unfortunately, the Sugar Cookie only performed Avalanche during sound check. I was in the second row for this mini-concert and I can tell y’all The Band has never sounded better on Declaration then they did tonite; I think they add a little something more to the end, cuz to me it sound a little different (i.e., a little harder, more electric guitar). Niel is friggin awesome on this song…Yeah, Niel. Let’s see…LO was first, then Declaration (Dave mentioned something about the Declaration Tour would be starting in late February in Miami (I don’t know if he was just pulling our legs on the Miami part though). Little Lies was third, and David sung this song beautifully (I’m crossing my fingers for I, Alone or Sober for the tour). Then we got “A Kiss On The Neck”; this beyotch, along with his last, but certainly not least, BarbaSol brought the “HAWTNESS, right there” (tm douchbag Randy).

This was a great-ass mini-concert, but, damn that was too much standing up (got there at 4 pm, show didn’t start taping until 8pm. But hey, at least there was a Mall across the street and I was able to shop. So, I blame you David Cook for making me stand around for hours on end, until I was forced to have to go buy new shoes, and since it was BOGOHO, I got two pairs. Damn You, David Cook.

Unfortunately, the Kimmel goons are camera nazi’s and we weren’t allowed cameras.

It sure did! Bless AI, this is the highest either LO or the album have been in weeks, I believe. Here’s hoping this translates to a noticable bump in sales to ward off some of the January doldrums.

David was magnifiscent on Kimmel last night. Really loved the interaction with the crowd on LO, he did great on it. I thought he looked wonderful and I like that he’s letting the hair grow a bit, it suits him.
The other videos – KOTN should come with a warning label, and Little Lies as Cookified on Kimmel might be my new favorite song. That part where he slows it down only to explode into the chorus with the bare “Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies!”… Wow, that’s powerful stuff.

And those videos of him signing autographs and interacting with the fans were pure awesomeness. All summer long through the tour I wanted him to get to the point where he could have his own shows with his own fans who came to see only him.
I just loved seeing him get that, he was so accomodating and so visibly moved.

Can. Not. Wait. for tewer. What a thing to wake up to this morning, great way to start the day! Thanks to everyone who posted the links, and especially to everyone who posted the vids.

Avalanche and KOTN were real surprise treats. Avalanche was as lovely as I hoped it coudl be, and KOTN, have the paramedics standing by, lots of ‘em, seriously. Declaration totally rocked (Kyle and Joey sounded great, really tight and confident). Light On really sounds like it’s finally settled into David’s voice now, he finally owns that song. And Little Lies – all I can say is Dave is such a Rock Star. That’s the kind of performance that makes those of us old enough to know better all stupidly fangirly. Gush *and* THUD.

And to think, all that was happening while we were on here snarking away in chat over AI auditions. Honestly, who needs it, when we’ve got Dave and the EEB. Just confirms for me that I’ve got my Idol and somebody truly exceptional is goign to have to come along to get one text outta me.

Yeah, it’s really nice to get that sense, especially since Jimmy was making fun of AI the entire show– then again, he’s been doing that for years now, so that’s normal. DC’s never been one to take himself too seriously, so I think it helps Jimmy appreciate him. So I guess DC’s tour is called the Declaration Tour? That sounds so cool. I kind of feel like DC wanted to name the record that, but was turned down by the label. Boo on the label, that would’ve been an awesome name.

Thanks everyone for all the vids. Avalanche! I hope the Jimmy Kimmel people post more than just LO and Declaration on their site, since HQ vids of KOTN and Little Lies would be amazing. Did anyone catch the Malcolm Gladwell interview where he talked about how people don’t achieve greatness in their field without logging 10,000 hours of hard work, or 10 years of ~4 hours a day? I thought that was interesting– DC’s been playing in bands for 10 years now… he really deserves this.

The crowd was awesome for David and the EEB and the guys sounded and played fabulously. Loved all the YTs turning up, Cook fans smuggling cameras FTW! David killed on all the songs, Avalanche and KOTN were real treats to hear. Flove KOTN, very phoar, and damn does that man know how to work the camera and his fans.

SashaB, Breathe Tonight is currently my favorite song on the record so I would go apesh*t if I were to hear him sing it.

And yeah, the girl who put the video up is way over it and she was concerned if they’d hurt Cook’s feelings at first when it started to get so much attention.

I am so freaking happy for DC – he sounds amazing as ever and looks so happy – I think he is just getting started and his fanbase will grow and grow. He definately has the “IT” factor in addition to the fabulous voice and great stage presence. This is gonna be a fun ride for all his fans.

These are all just crazy good. Thanks for posting! Little Lies, wow. Never knew the song when Fleetwood Mac did it, was curious enough to look it up, and saw how much DC took it from its 80s-ethereal vibe to a stripped-raw almost-early-70s feel (for me, anyway). KOTN, amazing, and loved Avalanche.

I did watch this on TV last night. I panicked at first because my local station apparently shows Nightline at 12:05 EST and THEN JKL at 12:35.

So anyway, I was hoping JKL would put up all of the songs on his site, but when I read someone’s recap they stated that after LO and Declaration, DC said something like, “now they’re turning the stage over to us.”.

A fan agreed made up name for the band. EEB = Easy on the Eyes Band, because well, they are.;) I’m not sure who originally came up with it, but I know it’s commonly referred to on DCO.

Some also call them the BoUH…Band of Utter Hotness, I think.

Awww thanks for the videos. I love that he is able to put the screaming girls into perspective and have a little fun with it. Thought he did a great job on Light On and the band looked great, but I really want a new song from the CD. I love at least 10 of the cuts more than Light On. He has learned how to get through that demanding song though. Smart guy to let the audience sing a chorus so that he can catch his breathe. Love it.

ShariG, I was on IM last night and told LG about this, but you weren’t there by then.

So I was thinking about DC’s “look” (in light of the current audition rounds) which really, to me, doesn’t mean too much in the whole scheme of things.

However, I have to say this:

I didn’t like his faux hawk for auditions. I Did really like his look from ARN forward until the makeover. Then his new look grew on me and admittedly pretty quickly.

Now, after watching this again and reading someone’s comment about his hair growing out, I really, really lurve this look! The plaid shirt and the growing out hair says to me more casual. Love it!!! That’s all.
