David Archuleta to Host “Crush Night” on Nickelodeon – VIDEO

LOLOL… Teenage enthusiasm aside, this has WIN written all over it. Icarly is hugely popular among the teen/tween set – one part of David’s diverse fanbase – and there will be millions of fans in the other half of his base watching both these episodes to see David in action – as well as getting to see ALTNOY sung in front of this large audience…. Nickelodeon is not usually on my radar, but for these two nights, I will be an avid viewer!

I know! LOLOL… That mag was the bane of my existence in the pre-teen years… the days of the Jackson 5, David Cassidy, Leif Garrett, The Osmonds… the more things change, the more they stay the same, huh? Teen girls still snap these up and swoon like we did over their faves…… :smile2_tb:

I wish he were doing altnoy the first episode incase ppl don’t tune in for the rerun. But YAY for promotion!

Here’s the press release from Nickelodeon for “Crush Night.” lol. The Tiger Beat (lolz!!111!!) blurb is a little confusing. The first “Crush Night” is on February 7th. David and Miranda will host the premiere of 4 Nick shows, including David’s episode of iCarly. He’ll perform “Crush” on February 7. Then on February 15th, they’ll air an encore of “Crush Night” with a few additions, including David’s performance of “A Little Too Not Over You.”

Something I wasn’t aware of–iCarly is the #1 show on all of TV for Kids 6-11 and Teens 9-14. It apparently averages about 5-6 million viewers per episode. That’s really good for a cable TV show.

Oh, and my sisters and I used to totally buy Tiger Beat and Bop magazines because we found the poetry to the teen dream of the day hilarious. My “day” was Kirk Cameron, Leonardo DiCaprio and, on the girl side, Alyssa Milano (she was like the Miley Cyrus of her day for teen mags).

I love watching icarly, and im entirely too old to watch it… heck sometimes my hubby watches it without being prompted… lol

As for DA, I think this will be great exposure for the new single. And it sounds like he had a great time filming, so good for him. Unfortunately I can’t handle the swaybots so I’ll just assume the performance was good…lol

David Archuleta within driving distance? We’re there! Since Archie was back in Hollywood last weekend to shoot a performance for the Nickeleodeon hit show iCarly, we decided to pop by the set and catch up with last season’s American Idol runner-up. We arrived to to find David and iCarly star Miranda Cosgrove knee-deep in taping promos for his guest-starring role (airing Feb. 7), which can only be described as moments of acute awkwardness. But he got the hang of it soon enough, and even hinted later that there could be more acting gigs in his future. After performing two songs for the network’s “Crush Night” (his first hit, “Crush,” and second single, “A Little Too Not Over You”), David sat down to talk to us about this new phase in his life, and what may come next (a duet with Miranda?!). Read on for our exclusive (and classic Archie) Q&A…

First off, how were your holidays?
It was so nice to be home because I haven’t hung out with my brothers and sisters for so long. They’ve changed a lot over the year, and I didn’t even notice. My 12-year-old sister has really matured. And my 9-year-old sister, well, she’s kind of the same, but my brother’s even taller. It was great to catch up with them and see what they’re into because I didn’t realize how out of the loop I was. It’s like, you don’t appreciate how busy you are until you come back and realize, “Woah, I missed a lot of my family life!” So I’ve been spending time with the family. My birthday is between Christmas and New Year’s, so we all went to Las Vegas together, saw “Blue Man Group,” you know…

And you were at the inauguration in D.C.?
I sang the National Anthem at the Latino gala, which was fun. Obama didn’t come by, but there were a lot of cool people there. I got to meet Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony and they were super nice. They’re some of the most well-known Latino people and were just so warm, welcoming and embracing to everyone. I was shocked that they knew who I was, but they watched the show! Marc was saying, “She calls you her other man and normally, if she did that, I would kick their… But you’re OK.” I was, like, “Awesome!”

Outsiders = Greatest movie ever. That was like a 13 year old girl’s dream. When watching it, it was like an internal struggle over who was the hottest LOL.

Nickelodeon is a staple in my house. So, I’m sure I’ll see this. Besides, I think iCarly is kind of adorable. I love her mean little friend.

That article is really nice. He’s so damn honest, it’s actually refreshing. From the straightfoward answer about his brother to him relaying the funny story about Jlo and Marc. He’s really maturing and it nice to see. Jlo has good taste as both David and her hubby can really sing.

Hey! How are you guys?? I’m just on set right now and I wanted to write a quick blog . Some really fun stuff has happened the last few days.
First, on sunday I got to spend the whole day with David Archuleta. He is in an episode of iCarly thats going to be on February 7th so we filmed a Teen Nick special together. The special is called Crush Night and all the episodes of shows on Nick that night are going to be crush themed! Not only did David host the night with me but he also performed his hit song Crush! He was seriously amazing! I couldn’t believe how great he was and I’m glad I voted for him so many times when he was on American Idol haha. Also it’s just always fun to get to see him because he’s so nice and fun to hang out with.

I saw the movie after somebody made a comment about David being perfect for one of the characters… man I cry so hard… is a really good movie..

I never even heard of the show until there was word last Fall that David would be appearing in it. So then I started to watch a few of the the episodes… you know, for research purposes, haha! Any way as it turns out, it’s actually a very fun show to watch and I’m already hooked on it. It’s no wonder that it’s so popular with the kid/teen population.

Lys, David will be working with the Build-A-Bear organization. He will be recording a song titled “Let’s Talk About Love” for them. There is rumor that they will put a chip in the bear (or your animal of choice) so that the bear can be a singing bear with David’s voice! MJ started a thread on it a while back. My 10 year-old nephew is a fan of the iCarly show as well. I’ll have to see what he thinks of Archie.

Currently, he’s really into games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band on the wii and PS3 respectively. It’s cool seeing him become a fan of classic songs like Creep, Paranoid, Hotel California, Hit Me With Your Best Shot, Paint It Black, School’s Out, Band On The Run, Beat It, Go Your Own Way, etc. He’s also a huge fan of this DS game Elite Beat Agents which features an eclectic soundtrack including Jumpin’ Jack Flash, Believe (Cher), ABC, YMCA, September, Material Girl and Sk8er Boi.

I’m not too proud to admit that there was a time in my life (13 sounds about right) when I probably watched that movie every single day. I could recite the entire thing. I probably still have that videocassette somewhere.

And I have to admit that I have laughed out loud once or twice while watching iCarly with my kids. It’s one of the more bearable teen shows out there.
