I have a 10 year old daughter with a whole lotta friends so that is not news to me. I just didnt think of David A is that category – for the most part on AI he sang ballads that the older set seemed to love too. So, I was thinking of it in that direction. I wouldnt compare him to Cyrus or Jonas brothers in that way – or in the same league as those kids as far as his voice and the types of songs he sings compared to their bubble gum. So, seeing him compared to them struck me funny. I was just skimming thru this, didnt read it all and my daughter was with me and of course caught the names of her favs. But as I went back and read over the rest I see where that statement came from now and that silly award most likely will not go to David A against the likes of the ones mentioned.

It’s just my personal opinion that David Archuleta has tougher competition against the current teen titans. I don’t remember who David Cook was against except for Brody Jenner.

19E is spending lots of dough on Cook to promote him as well like the Sketchers deal.

just for the sake of accuracy, 19 is MAKING money off the skechers deal, not spending it.

Am I a bad Archie fan if I say that I won’t be too upset if he doesn’t win this award? Of course, Hooray for Archie! if he wins, but in light of all of the big things happening for him this summer, this particular award seems rather (for lack of a better word) silly. :unsure_tb:

Well considering how massively popular the Jonas Brothers & Miley Cyrus are at the moment…. yes, David Archuleta has some tough competition indeed. I hope his teen fans are voting like crazy for him, but I’m sure they are!!!

And really, I do hope that both Davids win in their category .. it’d be a great day if that happens.. keeping my fingers crossed.

Any adult who pretends to be a teen to vote in the Teen Choice awards is pathetic, in my opinion, I don’t care who they are voting for.

I haven’t read the entire thread here yet, but my comment that I made that all of Archie’s fans are teenybopper girls, was not directed at MJ.. it was directed at the general consensus regarding his fanbase. So if that’s really true, all the widespread generalizations that only young 13 year olds are his fans, then his win would be accepted as a true win right? One where I do not expect any negative talk anywhere about how his adult fans voted for him? I hope so. But from the talk I see going on here already, I am thinking not. But what about if Cook wins, then will it be b/c his adult fans “pathetically” voted for him, too?

Oh shit! We’ve brought out MJ! I guess we all need to chill. However the singles are released and the order really isn’t up to us. We will just have to be content with being excited about buying our faves singles and/or albums when they are released.
