David Archuleta – “I’ll Be” – Hard Rock Cafe NYC – VIDEO

David Archuleta performs an a’Capella version of “I’ll Be” at the Hard Rock Cafe in NYC last night. It was part of the In-Tune concert, an exclusive concert for readers of the teen magazines J-14, M and Twist.

Update: Press Interviews with David – Archie says Kara DioGuardi is “A tough person, and more picky than Paula.” He tells FOX news, he’d love to return to Idol as a mentor, because he knows how the contestants feel. And David would rather concentrate on his musical career rather than take a turn at Broadway, like some of his fellow Idols.

    The dancing right before Crush made my day. Hee. Seriously, David actually loves to dance. His mother is a dancer and it’s part of his Latino heritage. If he’d come out of his shell with that more and made it part of his performances at some point, it would be great.

    We love David Archuleta!!!

    OMG do we love David Archuelta! Why do you ask? Besides the fact that he’s such an amazing, sweet guy, he’s totally genuine, and he sang the romantic anthem of the year “Crush”? Well, because he’s the new spokesperson for Do Something’s disaster relief grants!

    Yesterday, we shot his new PSA here in New York. He was so fun to hang out with! Before the shoot, David told us that the “fur” on his coat was fake, but he wasn’t going to wear it in the shoot, just in case anyone thought it was real. He was totally sensitive to his animal-loving friends.

    David also hung out with our auction winners, Julia and Aimee (who flew in all the way from Nashville!!), the whole time, talking all about what he’s been up to since his American Idol days of fame. They were amazing. Julia was so inspired she told us she’s even going to apply for a disaster relief grant, and start a Do Something club at her school. Yay David!! Talk about celebs inspiring people to do good things.

    CGG drilled David, talking all about his idea of a perfect Valentine’s day date, what he thinks of the new American Idol judge, and what his plans are for the inauguration. You’ll just have to stay tuned to CGG for the interview!

    This hardly seems like the same David Archuleta who performed on American Idol. He is maturing into a performer who connects well with his audience. And his voice sounded strong and pure in the videos. I am excited to see his progression. Also love the photo at the piano. He is also developing into a very, very good looking young man.

    David was AWESOME on Dec 12 at MSG arena type concert and at HRC yesterday which was a more intimate setting for just 500 or maybe fewer. I hope he comes to NYC again soooooooooon!

    Music is in his blood. He’s a walking jukebox, for goodness sakes. It’s inevitable that dancing would also come naturally to him since they go hand in hand. I do hope that he breaks off more of his shell just a little bit to show us more of his moves. But not too much, because I also adore his shyness. That’s a big part of his appeal, imo.
