David Archuleta Finishes His Spring Tour in Utah – Heads to the UK and Philippines

MJ: The David’s will be performing in the Phillipines on May 16th.

I’m already missing news of David — but the YT of David performing Somebody Out There for his home audience might just be enough to tide me over for a while. If you’re a fan and you haven’t seen that one, look it up. He was tremendous.

I think 21 of 23 tour dates were sold out on David’s tour – Mah-velous! From Malaysian fans commenting on FOD, there is tremendous coverage in the press and other media about David’s appearance there, and the excitement is palpable to see him.

I wish him a safe and very successful journey, and am so proud that his talents are going to be on display for the rest of the world to see, and appreciate. Standing behind you all the way David! :bye_tb:

I watched it on Saturday and it was so gorgeous and breathtaking. I confess I haven’t watched most of his performances of SOT on this tour but I think I picked the right one to watch. The song is already beautiful but he took it to another level at the E Center that night and those change ups from the recorded version were just inspired.

I was at David’s concert in Utah!! It was spectacular. Everyone stood the entire set and we all jumped during ZG!!

He was amazed at the amount of people there and their reaction to him. I heard from someone at the FOD pre concert luncheon that David was told it was to be a small intimate concert….like 2,000 – 3,000 peeps. There were actually over 6,500 people there and he was blown away.

By the time he ended his set w/Angels, there was not a dry eye in the house…including David. He was very emotional as he left the stage!

Somebody Out There is an incredibly soothing and powerfully uplifting song… David conveys such a wide range of tenderness and emotional nuance in this piece… one is compelled to just stand still, and listen. He interprets these lyrics masterfully, and makes each listener really feel he is singing just to them. That’s the hallmark of a true artist, and David is an artist first and foremost – “teen star”, “pop star” and all those other labels attached to him be darned… ARTIST.

I’m so happy for him that his first solo concert was such a success! Really enjoyed the videos of his last show for this tour. Awesome! (tm Archuleta), lol. His performance skills are getting better and better!

Will the whole (current) band be going with him on the McFly tour? Anybody know?

David playing in slime while talking to his fans is somehow perfectly random or randomly perfect, just like David.

The SLC SOT is spectacular.

From what I understand, the band will be accompanying him on the UK/McFly tour… in Asia, I think right now, only Mike Krompass, the guitarist will be with him on a series of promotional appearances… that may be subject to change, so stay tuned

I think David is going to Asia by himself. My guess is that if he does any performances, it’ll be solo on the piano. It’s mostly just promotional stuff anyway. A lot of interviews.

Just a rumor for now–but word is that David’s episode of Hannah Montana (lol) will air May 1st, but that the episode will be available online a week earlier. Also, the duet he recorded with Miley should be available via iTunes. I have no idea if this online preview is a thing that Disney does normally or if it’s a special thing. I’m not an HM fan myself. Heh.

Zero Gravity is amazing! If I didn’t see the evidence I would not believe that was David A on the stage. I always knew he was an amazing vocalist, but his presence is catching up. Charisma to spare…..I luv, luv, luv Works for Me!

Back in its “You Can’t Do That On Television” days (anybody remember that show? With pre-pubescent Alanis Morrisette?) it was thicker. The kids would say “water” and they would get hit with water. They said “I don’t know” and they would get slimed. It’s kind of funny that they still use slime on Nickelodeon because of a 1980s Canadian kids’ show that hasn’t been aired on that network in over 15 years.

Soundscene, I remember. Alanis. And Moose. Poor Moose. She got slimed alot. I used to love that show.

Watching ZG just gives me chills because it was so amazing to be there that night when almost everyone from young to old were jumping up and down. I like the one you posted, GG, because it is HQ, and even though it is dark, you can see everyone jumping.

Hermy – He’ll be in Asia for a promo tour for a couple of weeks starting the end of this week.

rockfan- I was there with my husband, and we didn’t go to the afterparty. I am glad you enjoyed it! We hung out by the room that said “David Archuleta family room” hoping he would come out that way, but the security guards made it clear that he was going to sneak out another door, so we left. Others we knew kept hanging out there and he did sneak out another door, so I am glad we left.

Normally, foreign artists who come to the Philippines utilize local (Filipino) talent to back them up either as backup singers or band members…I think this is a “union” thing of some sort…so I would guess that except for a few who DA would bring along, the rest of the band or backup singers will be Filipinos…not to worry because Filipinos are among the best musicians/singers/artist if not in the world, at least in Asia…

David’s SLC concert was electric! Daughter and I danced and swayed throughout – but especially grooved on Zero Gravity. This could be a radio hit as well as play in clubs, etc. Hope the song can get out there!
