David Archuleta appeared at the 2015 RootsTech conference yesterday in Salt Lake City, Utah.
In keeping with the the theme of “Family History” The American Idol season 7 runner-up debuted a new song in Spanish. The Mormon church asked the singer to help write the song in order to inspire Latino youths to become more involved with family history.
David said he was honored to be involved with the song’s creation. He debuted a music video for the song, as well as performing it live.
“This song is about taking us to the past to rediscover ourselves,” said David, “I think that’s a big part of what family history is all about.”
David also covered of the Justin Timberlake song, “Mirrors.”
“Justin Timberlake wrote this song in tribute to his grandparents,” David said. “And I thought that was really interesting and really neat. It doesn’t matter who you are, even if you’re Justin Timberlake, you can look back and just admire and be inspired by your history.”
