I just love the KC Fox station. They are so excited about the visit. They are starting the hype early. I can’t believe I have the day off and I’m going to sit at the damn computer all day! Good thing it’s raining here in New England.

It’s David Cook Day here in KC and it’s raining. Hopefully it’ll move out before all the activities of the day. I can’t wait to see our hometown boy this afternoon in Blue Springs.

For those of you going to the Devil Rays’ game tonight, Jamie Shields will be on the mound for Tampa Bay while Jon Garland(a former ChiSox) starts for the Angels.

I thought part of Syesha’s itinerary was a visit to a half empty gymnasium in Sherman Oaks, Calif.

David Cook clearly wins the song choice award, tho the Devil Rays been down so long and finally have a great core of young players so I’m sure ‘Change Gonna Come’ would work to.

Hard to convince me looking at these itineraries that AI is fading.

Hmm, I like that choice by Simon. It’s a beautiful, beautiful song and David doesn’t need to do anything but sing it straight with a camera all up in his face. It should be great and verrry sexy. I noticed that Leona Lewis has a version on her album. It must be one of the 12 songs that Simon likes.

David’s own choice is kind of wtf? but it’s OK. He sings so much better than the Collective Soul guy, I think I’ll like the song more when I hear his version. I really like the lyrics, it’s very dark.

LOL Sarah – I just heard that on the radio on my way back from taking the kids to school. And, I instantly thought about texting you (but of course, I’m too old to drive and text at the same time!).

If we did go – we’d definitely stand out, since we’d be about the only ones there. Rays games are usually pretty empty. But alas, I have company coming tonight, and I’m just not sure how I’d explain it (“sorry – you guys can’t come over – I need to go to the baseball game to torment a young girl”). :lol_wp:

Oh, that 93.3 was a great great interview. The moment I heard tears in his voice, I have to say, I got teary-eyed as well. He’s really down to earth and appreciative, and I love hearing him interview. I really can’t wait for his media circuit after the finale.

That was a great interview. I am a hardhearted cynic and I got a lump in my throat when DC started choking up. He is going to be a puddle of goo at his Blue Springs concert.

I actually watched David A’s Fox interview. He was completely articulate, intelligent and not at all the giggling nitwit people would expect. If he wins AI, he’ll be completely fine doing media. His brain must go on vapor lock on the show, because he can talk.

He almost looks like he’ll cry…again.

Ok first concert over. Over 2500 peeps ended up in live feed chat and we crashed the chat several times, lol. That was just great! GOOOOO DC!!!

He did “Living On A Prayer” from his audition (full song – it was a long good one) and “ABMB” – not the full song, only what he did on AI. It was very emotional and heartfelt, but I hated how they paraded him through the crowd afterwards – That can’t be a very joyful experience, to be mobbed like that.
He was wonderful though, very communicative with the audience, very calm on stage. The audio in the live feed was terribel, I hope they’ll fix that for later.

That was an awesome concert! That was really amazing how many people were in the chat! We definitely crashed it! lol

Oh, this is too funny. Some female correspondent on Fox 4 just confessed on camera that she has a little crush on DCook. Only I doubt she knew she was on the air. It sure didn’t look like she knew.

As a fellow DC fan, thought I’d chime in with my two-cents (for what it’s worth). Been watching on and off all morning (have to watch how much streaming I do at work as I got busted for youtube twice!)and it strikes me that David is completely overwhelmed and very humble. I’ve never actually thought he comes across as smug or arrogant but I think his appearances today totally put those perceptions into perspective.

I think they have a sense of their growing popularity from the appearances they do as part of idol but it seems that the home visits are when reality hits and the idols fully begin to grasp that they really have stepped out of anonymity and have way more fans than the girls in the mosh pit.

I loved that he gave his brother a shout out . I was a little worried about him being crushed in the stampede of fans surrounding him as they led him out of the concert. Oh, and he’s a leftie (just like me so I always notice these random things).

Did you all see Archies autograph signing. it was bedlam. They were expecting like 500 for the AT&T signing and THOUSANDS showed up. Instead of staying an hour he only stayed about 20 minutes. They ran out of pics and were scared for his safely. Dammitt…I want a Cook win, but this really reminded me of Taylors homecoming.

I’m not surprised at the bedlam for Archie. He may have no fans here but I’m sure his homecoming is mass insanity.

You make it sound like DC had nobody showing up for his homecoming. Thousands came to his concert. And I’m not surprised people came to see Archie. Good for him. I hope people show up for Syesha…seriously.

BTW, people should have gone to see Archie’s AT/T signing because that’s all he has before he goes to his high school (I would bring ear muffs for that…that will be LOUD…can you imagine thousands of screaming teenage girls…). So basically, if you can’t see Archie at school, you’d better as hell show up for the AT&T signing. And what moron actually thought that only 500 people were going to show up for that? That’s a crock and they know it.

I know…plus the pouring rain in KC. Cook will have over 10,000 tonight too…it was just insane at archies autograph signing …mostly because they were not prepared for it at all…the cops looked scared…lol

Pretty funny to hear Archie begin to say “we’re working our as… off” and change it to booties in the nick of time. He seem tons more normal off the show (to me anyway.)
