Thanks MJ. This was a nice addition to the music and gave a glimpse to some of the memories these stars have of Christmas. Davids memory of the Christmas caroling to retirement homes, hospitals etc. triggered my own memories of caroling and singing for the veteran home. Some of the veterans were confined due to injury etc and it was so meaningful for us to touch their hearts. In turn they certainly touched our hearts forever. Happy Holidays to all and here’s hoping you always have happy memories.

I never caroled anywhere other than acquaintances’ houses, but the thought of anyone visiting a nursing home or hospital to do so just warms me. I’ve had relatives in facilities, and visits from anyone other than immediate family were rare.

I’ve done some caroling at a combined hospital/nursing home facility, but I happen to work in one, so I guess that doesn’t really count. Haha! It doesn’t compare to what David has experienced at such a young age. But I can tell you that it is a very rewarding experience. It lightens your heart to sing such joyous songs and the residents are so very appreciative of the gesture.

Trophy wife. lol mj. It’s true though. ;)

Some of my fondest memories were Christmas Eve at my grandmother’s home every year. That was the one time of the year that me, my parents, cousins, aunt and uncle all got to see each other and exchange gifts.

The holiday’s are so different now with all of my grandparents gone along with other relatives but I still have some wonderful memories to hold on to.

Loved seeing David share his favorite Christmas memories with such joy in his eyes. It’s very sweet to say. Loved his performance too. :)

David ALWAYS puts a smile on my face, no matter what ~ whether he’s singing or just talking or laughing! He’s all joy and sweetness, not to mention ENORMOUS talent! Just incredible! And did I say I’m a fan?

  • ghl

David talked so well. When he sang, ‘it’s the mo~st wonderful time ~of the year~’, the background music was ‘it’s the most wonderful time of the year.’ haha.

Andrea Bocelli was also funny that the worst Christmas gift he received was a big encyclopedia. I wonder if he was able to see at that time.

    Thanks mj, Merry Christmas, everyone!!

    I. Love. Sting. Always have, always will. I ushered for a concert of his in the late ’80s, and he invited us ushers backstage to hang with his band afterwards.

I always catch myself with huge silly grin transfixed on my face whenever I see Archie speak! Probably because he himself grins so wide & innocently whenever he talks. Sweet guy.

    Merry Xmas to all!

    How adorable is he? :)

I admire David and family for sharing their music with the ill and elderly at Christmastime when he was younger. My family did this and I remember being a bit scared and nervous! Her has a heart of gold, that kid.

Great excitement that he performed Pat a Pan on LKL. Hope it can reach a bigger audience in future and become a holdiay favorite for many. Amazing arrangement by Kurt Bestor, performed with passion by David. Love it.

I love the way David rocks this song and I cannot help but grin while he is speaking because he is so full of enthusiasm. Ya just gotta love him.

MERRY CHRIST-MAS to all who celebrate the birth of Christ. :)

MERRY CHRIST-MAS to all who celebrate the birth of Christ.

And same to you and to all who do celebrate Christ.:-). I have done caroling, too, in nursing homes and on the campus of the college I attended. I was part of a home school support group, so we would go sing carols at the nursing home and made Christmas cards for the residents. As far as memory, I come from a large family, and on Christmas Day we would go to my maternal grandparents, where we would go have a nice Christmas dinner, made of the typical dishes, like goats’ soup and ayacas, among others. I am from the Caribbean, so goats’ soup is nothing unusual. The ayacas are the Venezuelan influence. They look like fat tamales and have just about everything but the kitchen sink in them, along with either beef, pork, or chicken in them. Christmas Eve was for midnight mass, where I used to sing in the choir. Now with my own family,we would open presents on Christmas Eve, go see Christmas lights and light displays (cool ones set to the music of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, especially, can be found on youtube). On Christmas Day we would have our dinner, which is like Thanksgiving dinner all over again. We did things early this year due to my mother-in-law being in the hospital, but we are thankful to still have her with us and have each other.
