Remember those canceled dates from the David Archuleta/Demi Lovato tour?   David is in New Hampshire today, getting ready to perform the first of those three dates tonight.

He describes the gloomy weather (it’s freezing and gross here in New England–I have two sweaters on) and how he’s got to brush up on the songs–it’s been a few months since he’s performed them. He also talks a bit about speaking at the Utah Women’s conference on Monday.

You can read the whole blog HERE.   David’s song of the day? “Live Like We’re Dying” by Kris Allen

Hola! I am in New Hampshire right now for the last 3 shows with Demi Lovato this week. We had rehearsals today, and they went pretty well. I haven’t sung these songs for a while haha, but it’ll be fun to do them for the shows. It’s fun seeing all the crew people again! It’ll be fun to perform for all you guys again! So let me know if you’re coming to any of the shows that are coming up! I know the weather has been pretty gloomy, but apparently I left Utah right as we were getting some major snow in that area. I prefer the rain here in the east over the freezing snowstorms in the Rocky Mountains. I hope everyone back over there is safe though.

So last Monday I spoke at the morning session for the Utah Women’s Conference. I was the speaker for the morning session, and Laura Bush was the speaker for the afternoon session. I was a little nervous to speak when I was trying to figure out what I should say, but the more I thought about it the more I surprisingly got excited to speak. I really had a great time getting to talk about what was on my mind and share it with all the ladies who came haha. I’m glad that Senator Orrin Hatch invited me to come, so thank you very much Senator! How many of you were able to make it to that conference, anyway? If any of you took notes I’d be really curious as to what was note-worthy I guess haha. My sister Claudia came and brought my friend Ashlee with her, and they took notes. It was really odd to think that my sister and friend were taking notes on what I was saying, but I thought that was really neat at the same time. So if there was anything you were able to learn from what I shared I’d love to hear what stood out to you!

Today I got a great workout in! But the bad thing is while I was running on the treadmill I did something to my back. It still doesn’t feel very good lol. During the rehearsals I just sat on the stool, which was really weird during Zero Gravity! I’m hoping that I can move around better tomorrow haha. Imagine me singing “Nothing brings me dooown, when you’re aroound” and I’m stuck on a stool. hahaha… It’s funny as long as it doesn’t actually happen lol. Well… it probably would be funny even if it did happen. But oh well. Anyway, I’m probably finished talking. Oh wait! Halloween is this weekend! If you guys have any cool costumes you should share! bwahahaha. I really don’t have anything in mind for myself costume-wise, but I guess we’ll see if I’m in the mood when the day comes closer. But all right, I’ll stop talking now and talk to you guys next week! Ciao.

I’m a fan who lives in Germany and what I wouldn’t do to get to one of his winter concerts! I come every summer just to hear him sing live AND it’s worth every penny! But I’ll be missing this winter unless he comes back to Europe!

    Some recent @DavidArchie tweets:

Trying to get some exercise in, but it’s hard to focus when there are 2 guys just sitting outside the door staring at me… Lol

Dang it… I did something to my back lol. Doesn’t feel all that great. But on the stage rehearsing right now!

Sad I can’t use my workout close today :( . My back is feeling a lot better though! So I will use them as soon as I can haha.

He listed the Charlie Brown Christmas album as a favorite growing up? I need to get that album — I remember having it and loving it — but think the LP was lost in a flood. Not that I’d have a way to play an LP.

This Billboard Live concert sounds great — thanks for linking that, Frog!

I think David did an amazing job at the women’s conference. It’s great that he’s willing to tackle something outside his comfort zone like that. Growth seems to be a big part of his life-view and it’s obvious he applies it to himself it on a daily basis.

Demi is the one who cancelled the shows (and others which David made-up, solo). Nice to see them keeping their promise to the fans.

  • houstonrufus

I’m hoping the Ann Arbor show is the one that gets broadcast via the Billboardlive thing. That would be awesome.

  • frogcooke

its not on a thursday though… lol

  • houstonrufus

    Dangit!!!!

  • kimk

    Foxwoods is on a Thursday!
Nice place as I remember it too!

Would be a hoot if he did dress up for Halloween!
Not expecting it but he did mention it….

  • frogcooke

I AM GOING TO THE FOXWOODS SHOW!

    excuse me… I may have flailed there…

  • houstonrufus

Flail away!!! I bet it will be amazing.

I am glad he recommended Kris’ music for ‘Song for the day’. I really think he likes the song since it’s catchy and lyrics are meaningful. As he always pimps other artists, this time, he did for Kris.

David Cook fan here and just wanted to comment on Archie’s maturity. Love this guy and think he is a class act and wise beyond his years. I think I am going to check out his Christmas album…..

  • spencer

^^^ Thanks for the Archie compliments Izzie2. I have lots of Cook downloaded on my Ipod. You won’t be disappointed with CFTH. Hope you enjoy it.

  • heidijoy

Archie is so good at keeping fans updated. His latest tweet reports that he is seeing a Physical Therapist about his back pain and is getting treated. I love his new Christmas Album !!! Glad he is getting to do the make up concerts and that those that were so disappointed are now getting rewarded, Plan to go to his St.Paul concert in Dec. Yeh!

  • frogcooke

I just hope he takes it easy tonight and tomorrow, no jumping around

  • carolinacharms

Maybe he should lay off the P90X. And do his shows from a SleepComfort bed!

  • frogcooke

I think it may have been from the treadmill he ws using yesterday morning… them things are dangerous…

David has a concert in Bakersfield, CA on Nov. 28th, Saturday Thanksgiving weekend. My friends tell me the arena he is scheduled to play at is pretty impressive. I live in Los Angeles, I think I will take the the family to Bakersfield so see David since it is only about an hour and a half away. Looking forward to seeing David in concert again.

  • Kris

The Billboardlive concert sounds really cool. I’m glad that David is going to be a part of it.

At the VIP session tonight, David confirmed his writing of the book on his memoirs on Amazon.com. I’m very happy about that. He said it was interesting to write about parts of his life he doesn’t address. Amazon has it listed as having 224 pages. If they already know how many pages it will be, why are they waiting till May 4th, 2010 to release it? Are they maybe timing it’s release to coincide with the release of his 3rd album?

David confirmed his writing of the book on his memoirs? The book is already written? When did that happen? David always tweets and writes blogs on what is going on, and we feel like we know everything about him, but this is a total surprise!! With his confirmation, this one seems to be something he puts effort on. Always something’s going on in his world.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s been working on it for a while. He plays things pretty close to the vest when he wants to. (Too bad some on his friends/family/hangers on don’t…or didn’t.)

Evidently, someone (maybe the publishers, just guessing) approached him about writing the book for him. He decided he wanted to do it himself so it was in his own words. The publishers publish books for/about/by Latinos.

As for the 224 pages, my guess would be that it is probably a target number or an average number of pages those types of books have. I was looking at some other books of this type these publishers have done and that seems to be in the ballpark.

And yes, he’s sounding really, really good after a nice break to rest his voice. Anyone listen to the cellcast tonight? He was a talker, wasn’t he? heh. Getting more confidence daily. The women’s conference speech probably helped with that.

Not too pleased to see him being a typically stubborn 18-year-old male and disregard doctor’s orders about jumping around on stage tonight. He’s gonna pay for that tomorrow. I’m sure it was the adrenaline and he just forgot. But still….ouch! But I understand he was “petting shiny guitars” again tonight…so there were probably pain pills involved. hahahaha!

  • houstonrufus

haha! Yeah, looks he was feeling a lot better. Watched a couple of the vids this morning. He’s bouncing all over the place as usual. He sounds awesome.
