AHH I was there! I saw Brooke’s tweets earlier and was dying to meet her so I was on the lookout! I saw a blonde lady in a hat and wasn’t sure if it was her, but then I saw Dave behind her and yelled BROOKE! and she heard me and waited for me to come out of my aisle! Told her I loved the album and got a pic. Then girl in my row went to her an then she was MOBBED!! Security had to clear people just like with the other Disney stars (lots from Sonny With A Chance, Sabrina Bryan (a Cheetah Girl), Victoria Justice, and I heard Cole and Dylan Sprouse aka Zack and Cody were there).

Heh, bet Demi Lovato thinks the show was sold out because of her.

its cool to see many season 7 buddies hang out together. I’m curious how David felt last nite at Nokia Theater. He’s grown up a lot and now he’s touring all over the country. I’m so proud of him. I hope he can do what he loves continously.

Yeah, Jason couldn’t make it to the show. According to his Mom’s tweet, “nice visit w David A! too bad Jas is stuck writing his next hit but they can catch up later!” She also twittered, “Archie’s still got it! the screams are unreal! my hearing will be completely gone if he doesn’t finish the set sooon!”

But they did all get together after the show for dinner according to Jackie Castro’s tweet, “Eating dinner with the fam, @davidarchie, @realbrookewhite, and some friends ”

I actually took my two young neices. Archie was really great. I am so glad for him. I notice that no mention is ever made about his Dad since the scandal. Anyone know what he is doing or where he is now. I hate that it happened the way it did, but David needs to be our with friends. His parents are hangers on, why would two adult people need to accompany him to the Kids Choice Awards.

Brooke and Archie are very close you can tell, they tweet all the time and David has mentioned several times that he loves Brooke’s music and that she played it for him before the CD was released. He also frequently puts her music up as his “song of the day”. And Brooke often tweets cute things like that she misses him, etc. I love their relationship. I’m pretty sure she did go to see him on his solo tour, but I’m not sure.

Just as a clarification….the KCAs were the end of March. Jeff’s bust wasn’t made public until mid June. I don’t think Jeff is traveling with David anymore…or not visibly. David’s been seen traveling alone while flying to and from LA for his recording. Since I don’t visit David’s fan sites that is all the info I have…but it looks to me as though David is branching out on his own (he should be since he’s closer to 19 now).

I think what happens after this Demi tour “fiasco” (sorry, it still annoys me) will determine where David is headed. If he can get some good Holiday gigs with his upcoming Christmas album and maybe a Christmas TV special he should be able to keep his career moving forward. Actually, ironically, I think his father’s “mis-step” may have been the best thing to happen to David…here’s hoping. :drunk_tb:

Oh gosh, and I’m the oddball who finds it enchanting that David keeps his private life private. He’s been known (within the fan base) to be out with a girl, now and then, but those are off-camera moments.

I don’t care who he takes to a concert but he definitely needs to go with someone other than his overbearing parents at this point. And I’m including Mom here. He should go with a sister, or one of the girls from Salt Lake who have been his “rocks”, or one of the young “Disney” gals that he has pal’d up with. Of course it will end up in the teen mags, but heh, that’s part of it. At some point he needs to put himself out there and act like a normal almost 19 year old.

I can remember when the Osmonds were the “big thing” and they would show up with a “date” to certain events. No big deal because they didn’t make a big deal of it….and they all ended up marrying nice Mormon gals.

What’s with the love for plaid lately Archie?….LOL….is plaid now the trend? Kris Allen seem to like em too….sorry this fan is not a fashionista…

Plaid is in right now and I know in David’s case, some fans are buying some of those shirts for him. He tries to wear things the fans give him. That particular one last night was a fan gift.

In my opinion I don’t think it matters one bit who David goes with to any events. Even if it is his parents.

Of course it shouldn’t matter….but it comes across as very odd. Don’t get me wrong, because I really like David and love his voice, but the consensus among my family (tweens, teens and above, Utahns, Mormons) is that David seems very strange and out of touch with reality. They don’t get him as an entertainer because he isn’t “normal” to them. He is to much of a good thing, to cheesy, to immature, to straight arrow, to awkward, to weird.

They feel that he has the mind set of a 14 year old not an adult and they cannot relate to him. Now these are kids and young adults growing up in the same environment with the same social standards and they feel that he is pretty blah…their words not mine.

I think it is great that David is getting out and about but based on the kids I talk to they want him to act like a “normal” teenager and to be seen doing some normal teenage stuff with people his own age, and then talking about it like an almost 19 year old not a 14 year old. His aw shucks routine has run its course and now he needs to learn to be an adult….no more excuses.

I am so impressed with Archie. 18 and touring the country, directing his band and crew with the assistance of only his tour manager (who is awesome by the way). Other kids his age are working in WalMart while waiting to go to college or looking for some type of job and living in their parent’s homes to boot.

I love following several of the idols and I wish we could hear some from Lupe Archuleta but she seems content to remain at home where she is raising several younger siblings. I enjoy seeing all the comments, interviews etc from Betsy Castro, Beth Cook and Leila Lambert. It gives insight into my Idols.

The Archie/Demi concert team seems to be picking up steam. As an avid twitter follower Archie is picking up fans every concert and the twitters are so positive for him and his talent.

Also since I do visit fansites, I have no worries for Archie’s or any of the others I mentioned as far as their social lives. During his down time he is always tweeting about meeting friends, movies, concerts and even dates back home.

David does plenty of normal things that teenagers do. And I think he acts like a “normal” teenager does. He hangs out with and goes to concerts and events with friends his own age. Him hanging out with Brooke, Jason, and Benton isn’t something new. There is nothing David can do about it if some people don’t see that. There is nothing he can do if people don’t like who he is. He certainly shouldn’t start acting differently and being someone he isn’t just to please those who don’t like him. If he did, then I don’t think he would be acting like an adult but like a child who wants to act cool to have people like them. Plus, heck David isn’t any different from any other artist in that not everybody is going to like him. Which is cool.

I guess it depends on who you talk to. He’s not going to turn into something he is not so he can advance his career with the “cool” factor. I am his age and happen to like him more as I learn about him. I understand if people think that of him because of what he was like on Idol, I thought he was weird too, but there is more to him, he’s interesting to me. Yeah, he’s a shy person and has a dorky factor but he does not seem naive or 14 to me. He also does act like a normal teenager, he goes to plenty concerts with his friends, he goes out with his tour mates, and he also pretty much lives on his own now.

So true about him living independently. Even when in Utah it’s been said he does not live “at home” because of security issues etc. In fact he has blogged about making lunch plans to see his younger sisters because of his busy schedule and the fact he is not living with them. A very independent teenager, I will say.

He really goes have an amazing memory. Did you see that video the guy from England posted? He went and met David at one of the McFly dates in the UK and David remembered meeting him last summer during the AI tour and even correctly told him it was in Washington state. I was like :blink_tb:

I don’t think he should have pressure put on him to be seen with dates. Why does everyone have to conform, be the same, or even mature at the same pace? Why should he go on fake dates just to put people’s minds at ease that he is “normal”? What is “normal” anyway?

I’m not saying anything about Archie’s sexuality, since I have absolutely no idea, but this kind of thread reminds me so much of Clay Aiken and his fans. For years it was a big issue that he wasn’t seen with dates, i.e. with women, and yes the fans insisted that he was dating but wanted to keep it private, but they knew for sure he was, etc. And clearly it was so important to them to see him with women, to prove he wasn’t gay, their worst fear realized etc.

Do I sense a similar unease under the surface when it comes to Archie? If so, I say, let it go. Let him be, and don’t pressure him to do things to put other people’s minds at ease. He is young, he is young even for his age in some ways, there are a zillion possible reasons why he isn’t seen with dates yet. People develop at different rates. I don’t agree with the pressure to prove that he is normal. If he’s gay, if he’s straight, if he’s a slow starter, if he’s religious and waiting until he’s older, whatever, it’s up to him and I don’t think he needs to show up with dates just to prove something to someone. He should do what’s right for him and his private life isn’t really important to anyone but himself …

The two loves of his life are music…and food. I think food might outrank music at the moment. heh

I agree Oceana. The bottom line is David is just not going to do what people think he should do to appear “cool” or whatever. That is just not him. Granted, he is still maturing and growing and finding his way. But I’ve always had the sense he has a good awareness of who he is, how he’s not like all the other typical teen singers or young adults. Fans say this often, but I really do mean this–I have been such a devoted fan partly for the very reasons that seem to bother others. That is just me. I find him utterly refreshing and without pretense. If he remains that way, and he will, then he won’t win some over. That seems very clear. So be it. And he’ll be completely fine with that.

I don’t care about his personal life, but I do think that celebrities being seen with each other helps them both. It gives the magazines something to write about and publicizes the celebrity.

I think that David is growing up, which is good, because I also agree that he seemed like a child last year. It’s wonderful to see the independence and business sense that he’s gained over the year–and live performance skill.

And plenty of celebrities take a family member to an event. But it’s really common for celebrities in the closet. It is. Personally, I’d love to see him go to a movie premier with a girl to kill that idea.

David should take his time. He shouldn’t hurry himself into a relationship just for appearance’s sake. It should be real to him. That would be the healthiest way to go about it. Besides, can you imagine the millions of little hearts around the globe that will be broken the minute he is perceived to be seriously dating somebody? It will be devastating to many of his young fans. It might even be detrimental to his popularity. Remember how Simon told Kris Allen that he shouldn’t have revealed his wife so early in the competition? He knows what I’m talking about. If Kris weren’t married, he would probably be much more popular than he is right now. Don’t get me wrong. Kris is very popular, but he would be even more popular as a single guy.

Amen to this. I think David is the type of person who marches to his own drummer and that’s a good thing but often carries the “weird” tag with it. But, to me, David’s a cool kind of weird. He’s delightfully weird and interesting and funny, gracious, kind and stubborn. I’m still laughing that a fan suggested to him that he pack forty shirts for his tour with Demi and then he explains in one of his vlogs about how “insane” that is. Bwah. Not in a mean way but he was honestly baffled by the idea. More on topic: Awww, I love how close David is with Jason and Brooke. I really think those two have been his most lasting friendships for him from AI7. Yeah, he gets along awesomely with Carly and Cook too but he has the most constant contact with Jason and Brooke outside of the public eye, from what I’ve noticed. It’s probably not a coincidence that both Brooke and Jason also have quirky, different personalities.

David doesn’t need dating rumors to further his career. I certainly don’t want his career to become about who he is or isn’t dating. I don’t think he wants that either. I certainly don’t think he wants his interviews to become more about a famous celebrity he is dating and not about his music. David doesn’t need that kind of publicity.

The big difference here is that it is mostly NOT fans who say these things. From being on fan sites, fans are not worried about that in the least, because they don’t think it is an issue.

Talk about rumors, in fact, David has been seen with Jeanette McCurdy many times. She has come to many of his concerts. TMZ just hasn’t been around to announce it but the fans have talked about it. Who cares.

Quite a bit of differing opinion. I’m just saying that way more people know who John Mayer is since he dated Jennifer Aniston. And that isn’t an argument for David to date Jennifer Aniston, but I do think that if he is friendly with a fellow celeb it wouldn’t hurt him to be in public a bit with that person.

In one of his radio interviews, he was asked if he would want to date someone like Miley Cyrus or Selena Gomez. He said that he didn’t think so because it would be too public. David is a shy and private person. The people he has gone on dates with so far have always been just girls in his home town, not celebrity types whatsoever. I don’t think there is anything wrong with that.
