Eh. It was really a rhetorical question meant to point out the irony, only. I have no idea what David is thinking when he’s singing his songs, and don’t spend any time thinking about it.

I actually quite like Krisà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ studio version, maybe even a bit more than the original by OneRepublic but I think the best live cover version Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve heard/seen is that by Theo Tams, who won Canadian Idol last year

In his 50-minute, 11-song set, Archuleta drew screams not just for great singing à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ his big notes on à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Hold Onà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬  and à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“You Canà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬  were worthy à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ but for just being a crowd-pleasing young guy. (He also got screams just for a small hand wave when his back-lit shadow appeared on the closed curtain before it rose for him.)

Now a year removed from his à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“American Idolà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬  second-place finish, Archuleta has grown into a stage presence that can command arenas. Opening with his current hit, à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“A Little Too Not Over You,à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬  he bounced all over the expansive set, gestured more confidently and sang more assuredly.

All the while, the 18-year-old Archuleta seemed confident and content à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ as if he likes where heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s at. And so does his audience.

I’ve always thought “Hold On” should have been the song title for “My Hands.” LOL

A Fathers Day message of sorts?

Lol! As terrible as that situation was, a little angst could do his music some good. (Wow, that sounded okay in my head, but terrible once I actually wrote it out. I feel cruel.) MJ planted that idea in my head, so in the beginning while I was watching it, I couldn’t stop thinking about his dad, but by the end it had been driven out of my mind by his singing.

I completely agree that DAà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s version above isnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t the best Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve ever heard, by a long shot.

As much as I like this version, I agree it’s not even close to many of his better renditions. In fairness, I don’t know that he’s all that confident on the keyboard. He avoided a lot of the runs in the tour version etc and I think it’s because he focuses so much on the keys.

I absolutely love the grand red curtain opening to his set. The heart thumping is brilliant.

Kinda wish he was doing YEDL and Barriers thoughà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦ lol lol

A big WORD to this. I don’t know why he rarely performs YEDL. That’s my favorite song off the album. ALTNOY never, ever grabbed me nor did Touch My Hand. Zero Gravity, YEDL, Barriers and You Can all have hit potential. Is it too late for any of them now?

Wasnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t it Larry King and David Cook who agreed that David is way mature at his age.

I definitely agree that he’s mature in his thoughts about his morals, values, standards, faith, music…. but I admit I find him very ‘child like’ in his interests. I think he’s been pretty sheltered for most of his life.

I am fascinated at David for just the very opposite reason that he embraces his youth and is an example to those his age that ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s ok to just be a à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“youthà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬  still.

He’s going on 19 though. That doesn’t ring “youth” to me so much as “adult”. He needs to embrace adulthood and sometimes I don’t know that he wants to. I’m not trying to give you a hard time because I really can appreciate what you’re saying. I just see it differently I guess.

Ticketmaster does not show Gwinnett under Archie’s name. When we go under Demi’s name she still has VIP’s floor up front.

I think mature now days gets mixed up with socially mature. Meaning that many young adults today are experimenting with sexual relations at a younger age, experimenting with drugs, borrowing larger amounts than what they can realistically afford for nice car and toys. That kind of activity is not necessarily mature. I think mature is somehow being redefined in american pop culture.
