I'm guessing that his being home-schooled for a good part of his primary school life has contributed to his shyness and perceived awkwardness. However, I think that Jeff and Lupe have done a marvelous job of raising him. I hope David retains his sweetness and boyish charms for as long as possible. It's good to see that he is embracing that side of him. He has openly called himself a dork or a nerd. Lucky for him, it is evident that he does not have to be a macho cool dude to be popular with the masses. Most others in his peer group want to grow up way too fast.
