It was weird. When I first started watching the video, I immediately thought that he looked older (when he was in the house), but then when they did the camera flashback scenes, he seemed really really young. It’s almost like they didn’t match. Overall, though, I did like the video much better than Crush.

Very simple, effective storyline and cool contrasts from happy, fun loving David who has the girl to sad, angry David longing for the girl. It works and it makes me feel for him and enhances the song. Good job. Love the settings in the video (they help contrast past and present as well), the fact that there’s so much cute contact between him and the girl in the flashbacks/pictures and the overall production is very good. This is a video I could see myself watching even more than the Crush one.

The mutual piggy back rides were so cute. And yeah, it looks like she doesn’t like to lose. LOL

Can’t wait to watch when I get home! AH! Don’t the videos usually premiere on I-Tunes? I wonder when we can buy it there?

They are similar, Autumn imo. Mid-tempo teen friendly song about angsty longing love with synthy keyboards. But it is cute and catchy, like Crush. And releasing similar sounding songs did not hurt Jordin or Daughtry (can dude EVER have a long term relationship that’s not in trouble?). LOL. I think it will work out for him just fine.

It’s cute. I love the device of ‘moving pictures” Initially, when I read about the video a week ago (?), I was a little wary since I thought the concept would be like Jesse McCartney’s It’s Over (though pretty, it was a lift from Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind). Good thing I was wrong.

P.S. I thought I was misinterpreting stuff, I also thought that she broke up with him over Guitar Hero.

Archie is always going to look younger than his co-stars for a while. Because the actors most likely have to be 18 to avoid child labor law issues. And unfortunately, Archie still looks about 12 years old (at least to me).

I’m amused at everyone trying to figure out why they broke up. The song is basically David singing that he doesn’t understand why she’s off with another guy, so I like that the reason is undefined. Besides, most of us who have been through a breakup or two know that the reasons are ALWAYS complicated.

IRRC, Hagood Cox, who played David’s Crush, is 15 or maybe 16 now. Crush was actually her first role in a music video.

I do like the ALTNOY girl better but it’s probably because there was a lot more physical closeness and they seemed to be having so much fun. It made them look believable as a couple. It also helps that the ALTNOY girl has a resemblance to one of David’s real life friends.

I wonder if Guitar hero sponsored this video. They got featured in the pivotal scene that possibly leads to the breakup. Guitar hero causes breakups. Heh.

I think Miranda from iCarly looks noticeably younger than David and she’s 15. He also looked surprisingly good with Miley the couple times they posed together.

The song is worst than Crush (well, not exactly worst, just sounds like Crush but without beeing half as catchy) but the video is a lot better.
I like the idea behind it and all the photos with the girl, the different scenes and moments, it’s quite adorable and fitting. One can see the girl was a lot more confortable and “free” than him, but it’s cute.

I think the song is better than crush, doesn’t sound at all like crush (I love pop music, rock blends for me, pop doesn’t) and that this video is miles better than crush. So cute! Great concept.

About the song, I actually like ALTNOY better than Crush, I love the melody and the instruments, plus the lyrics and the subject is more mature, the video goes very well with the meaning of the song….with luck Archie with have a hit with this one…

Nice video; makes me like the song even more. David surprises me with how natural and expressive he is in his videos because in real life he’s adorkable. I’m impressed.

Awww… It’s so great to see Archie growing into his own skin. This is a really well done video. Of course, I too had the absurd moment where I thought, damn, b*tch dumped him over guitar hero. Then I saw Archie tried to make up with her by opening a huge ass umbrella indoors, which while it mollified her, really just spelled doom for the relationship since we all know it’s bad luck. Oh Archie.

Seriously though, a catchy song (the chorus is stuck in my brain right now and it’s the first time I listened to this) and a cute video… this should top the itunes vids in no time and hopefully get Archie a really good launch into single number 2.

I thought the girl in Crush appeared much more mature than David (even though the actress was actually younger than him). This new girl as his girlfriend seems more believable although David does still look younger. I really liked their playful interaction. David did a fine job of acting in both his angsty scenes and the happy ones. The cinematography and editing was artsy and relayed the story very effectively. Kudos to the director. Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m very happy with it. I canà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t wait to buy the high-definition version off of I-Tunes.

I’m so impressed with this video. Crush was good, but this one is a step up. What I do find in these two videos is that David really knows how to convey emotion. His ‘acting’ surprised me. He’s quite good. I, too, thought he looked older in some shots and younger in others. Like when he was playing guitar on the bed – I thought the guitar overwhelmed him. He looked like a little 12 year old with this huge guitar.

The storyline was very good (although breaking up over your boyfriend beating you at Guitar Hero is a bit of stretch) and I’m sure every teen is feeling a bit jealous right now as the video did an amazing job of giving us a quick glimpse at David Archuleta – the dream boyfriend! Archie sure looks a lot older than the 12-year-olds in my neighborhood. I think his innocence does make him seem younger to some people, but I think if you saw a photo of him, having never observed him “in action,” so to speak, you might think he was 15 or 16. 12? I’m not so sure. As always, YMMV.

Just wanted to jump in and comment about this song sounding like Crush. It SO DOES NOT sound ANYthing like Crush, in my opinion. They are two completely different songs. Just because a song shares a similar tempo, doesn’t mean they sound the same.

But what makes David look like 12 to many are not exactly his looks. I can look at him and see a 16/17 year old if he’s quiet and still… but then when he starts talking and acting… that’s when it changes.

David has a lovely voice, he takes direction very well, the song is original and cute (when is the last time you have heard this beat on the radio) and it doesn’t sound a thing like Crush. And David does not look like he is 12! Neither girl, in either video, looks older than David and both story lines are well done.

I don’t quite understand the fixation that so many have with David’s looks. Go through most any high school yearbook and other than the oversized jocks this is how a 17 year old looks. Look at the good 17 year old actors, take Daniel Radcliffe for one and they have the same type of features that David has. I agree, when David is photographed from the full front you see his chubby cheeks, his overlywide smile and this tends to bring out the youth in him. Besides, David can’t do much about the way he looks. He’d look so very silly with a weeks worth of beard on his face and guyliner around his eyes, but I guess then he would look older.

I don’t want to get too off-topic with the “how old does David look” debate, but I would say that it probably comes down to how much footage you’ve seen of him singing and interviewing. Those who follow him more closely will have seen him in a wider variety of contexts than those who don’t. And I think that if your impression is based on his AI persona (both show and tour), then he does seem younger. If you’ve seen a greater variety of his interviews and performances since the show, then he is likely to seem older to you, because he has shown that side of himself more and more over the last few months. When I look back at his first few performances on AI (not to mention the audition!), he seems like a baby compared to now.

In this video, he seems (as he often does) older when he’s singing (and angsting and all that) than when he’s hanging around his “girlfriend” and peers. But that makes sense, since he’s acting like a teenager in those scenes.

I think he does look about 13-14 when he’s sitting in the chair at the beginning, but really, who cares? Probably because he’s not a big guy and there’s something about the camera angle that makes him look little-boyish. I would have the camera guy back off when he’s doing all of his oooohing and running and melisma-ing because that’s, er, just not his best face, but overall, I think it’s a much better video than Crush

I love the video. I love the concept. I love the different scenes taking place in the video. David and the girl have great chemistry. At the end of the video I feel like yelling at David to get the girl back. Don’t delete the pictures. Really good video.

To be honest, I don’t think David can pass for younger than 15 anymore even at his goofiest. But most of all the time, he looks exactly his age to me and when he’s performing on stage, he sometimes looks a bit older because of how good he is at interpreting songs. The other day, a Jingle Ball reviewer, who obviously didn’t watch much of AI this season and and obviously didn’t fact check, said that David handled himself very well on stage even though he’s only 19. He obviously had a very different perception of him. I’d like to think the reviewer saw him more clearly looks wise because he wasn’t judging his real life personality.

And David’s Mom does look really young…after having five kids. She’s a lucky lady.

This is a huge improvement over the Crush video (IMO). It’s cute without seeming too cheesy and the filming has a nice artistic touch (it’s also more professional). David is definitely improving and getting a lot more comfortable with the camera (although some of those closeups did make me laugh!). The girl is also a better actress and their relationship is more believable. Very good song too. Should be a hit. There may be some similarities to Crush, but I think this song is much better.

Show starts at 8 EST! Not sure what time David will be serenading us tonight! Davey, Shontelle, Rihanna, Lady GaGa, Boys Like Girls, and T.I. will be performing.

I really liked this video. And I think that David and the girl look great together. I liked the Crush video also, but I agree that this is an even better video.

If I had to nit-pick (and apparently I must) there are quite a few more angst-filled shots of David with his head tipped slightly to his left against that green beadboard wall than I think are needed. Also, showing the relationship through a series of photos and creating a cliff-hanger ending was great–really inventive–but there are far more images of her touching him than him touching her. In fact, I don’t think that there are any of him touching her without her also touching him, although there is plenty of the reverse. I also don’t think there were any images of him looking at her while she looks into the camera, although there was a ton of the opposite–she adores him while he looks into the camera. So by the end, the relationship seemed to be her hanging on him while he smiles pretty for the camera. Maybe that was part of the plan–to present the relationship as more from her than him? Maybe that’s what he regrets?

Also, the breakup was over his competitiveness at Guitar Hero? Really? Maybe they didn’t want an image of them shouting/fighting, but the Guitar Hero bit during the line “Maybe I regret, everything I said” made me think that the director just didn’t know how to present the breakup.

But all that criticism is ultimately about small things. They’re a really good looking couple together. And I thought David looked quite sleek in that gray, fitted crew.

Hey All, I just turned 21 so I am kinda close to David’s age and know many peeps who are tweens. David acts very much his age but because he is so sincere and charming some see him as much younger. He may be immature in certain areas but so are people who graduated from college and have jobs. I hope David matures at his own pace and enjoys being a teenager. The video, imo, is well made and not at all like Crush. It’s the next step in the story he is telling on his record.

People are saying that it’s definitely the same girl as in the Elliot Yamin Wait For You video. Which is really weird because…Elliot is like ten years older than David.

I love this video. David looks incredible and I think he can pass for 18 now. This girl looks so cute with David. They would have beautiful kids, lolz. Well yeah, much better chemistry and I think this song is going to do very well.

Also, the breakup was over his competitiveness at Guitar Hero? Really? Maybe they didnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t want an image of them shouting/fighting, but the Guitar Hero bit during the line à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Maybe I regret, everything I saidà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬  made me think that the director just didnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t know how to present the breakup.

LOL. I think the first person who posted that she broke up with him over guitar hero was joking. I really don’t think that’s what we’re supposed to think. And they made up when he held the umbrella over her head. We’re not supposed to know why they broke up, just that they did.

Oh, and guys in my freshman class in college looked younger (some did) and certainly acted younger (most did) than David does. In fact I remember watching TV with a bunch of them when the kids TV show “Where In the World is Carmen Sandiego?” came on and they all knew the entire theme song. Most 17/18 year old guys aren’t mature, and most are far more irresponsible than David seems to be. And the difference between David and a 12/13/14 year old is pretty astonishing if you take the time to talk to a 12/13/14 year old guy.

Sidewalk–I just ran both videos side by side. And I got to say, they look a lot a like. It’s so hard to tell, but it definitely could be the same actress. The Wait for You video was made in early 2007, not even two years ago. If it’s the same actress, she could have been a teenager, but there’s a suggestive shot of her in his bed in the Wait for You video, so that actress was probably 18 or more. If it’s the same gal, she’s probably 20 or more now.

This is a huge improvement over the Crush video (IMO). Ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s cute without seeming too cheesy and the filming has a nice artistic touch (ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s also more professional). David is definitely improving and getting a lot more comfortable with the camera (although some of those closeups did make me laugh!). The girl is also a better actress and their relationship is more believable. Very good song too. Should be a hit. There may be some similarities to Crush, but I think this song is much better.

I actually thought Crush had some nice artistic touches as well and the scenery was gorgeous. Definitely did not see it as cheesy in the least. And the Crush video wasn’t supposed to have them as a couple yet, so I never even thought to compare it with this video. Totally different concept.

I do think that this video is certainly a wonderful growth from Crush in showing more maturity. Crush was a great first video and this one is the next perfectly natural step IMO.

I have a 17 year old son….all the girls at this age look older and more mature than the boys. It is normal. Girls reach full height at age 16, boys generally by 21 or so. I suspect they are the same age. I doubt it is the same actress from WFY, similar “looks” but not the same girl.

^ Very good point, dtrow. I’ve always heard that girls mature faster than boys. So it’s perfectly normal if David appears a little younger than the girl.

ETA: One thing I noticed is that if you view the video using the small screen, the girl looks much more mature. But if you blow it up to full screen, she looks more youthful, closer to David’s age. Perhaps when the high definition version becomes available, she’ll look even younger. YMMV.

Well, I’ve become obsessed with the “Is it the same actress?” question. I think it is. There are much better shots of her in David’s video than Elliott’s, so it is hard to tell, but both actresses seem to have a tell-tale cowlick on her/their forehead(s). But what does it matter if she’s a few years older? They advertised for an adorable 18 to 21 year old, which she very well may be, and David and she look great together.

You know, I’m impressed that they got this shot in two days. There are a lot of locations.

I’m trying to remember my guy cousins at 13/14 and, er, yeah, David is miles and miles and miles more mature. lol. They would basically grunt.

I have a son who is a month older than David. He definitely looks older than David (I say David is a very lucky guy, because he will look young for a long time, like his mother.) I have boys that age around my house all of the time, and after following David’s interviews closely, I would say he is extremely wise and mature for his age.

IMO, David’s lack of macho man behavior (I gotta act cool and grunt instead of being sensitive) and lack of worldliness, plus that constant smile make him seem young to people who are not used to kids like this. In my neck of the woods, this behavior is very normal. Kids are definitely more sheltered, and I think it is healthy not to grow up too fast- in the worldly sense, if you know what I mean. He will get initiated into the big bad world soon enough, but somehow, I think David will remain pretty much that same happy guy.

First hand account by an archangel (Beth) who was at the Jingle Ball tonight…

Shontelle started it off. First 2 songs just sounded like loud screaming. I new the 3rd song. The t-shirt song. Then Lady GaGa. Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m not a big fan of hers, but she was so sweet to David I dont want to say to much. I did know her 6th song as well. Then boys like girls. The first 3 acts were so loud. Thank goodness I brought ear plugs. We had really good seats, but the speakers were real close. Then, dun dun dunà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦..David was up. Thankgoodness. Someone who sang. You could understand the words. He was out of this world. In Touch My Hand when he sang Faaaaace, I think thats the best I ever heard him sing that word. Same with ALTNOY. When he hit the OOOOh it was breathtaking. ATM was spectacular, everyone sang along. Then he thanked all the fans & they cheered like they new what was coming. Then He said Crush & the place went totally nuts & everyone sang along. He got a great ovation, but no Christmas song. I was bummed. But it was worth it to see/hear him sing in person. He was unbelievable. Then my cousin & I left. It was just so noisy & we were kind of wore out from the first 3 acts.lol

He wore the t shirt & beanie when they showed the backstage interview before he came on while they were setting up for him. He was his usual sweet, sweet self. Yes, he did hit the mic the dj was holding. It was funny. He was wearing the beanie because it was cold.ha, ha. He said he is use to the snow & cold, just not this cold.lol. He was wearing black jeans & a black shirt with the sleeves rolled up. There was some metal buttons on it or something. It was hard to tell with the lighting. I have to say, boyslikegirls said some words I cant repeat, but in the middle of their set, they mentioned a couple of the performers & they said oh I like this dude, a new friend of mind how about David Archuleta & the crowd went crazy. So he said something nice about David.

I actually like this song and video than Crush. Archuleta and the girl playing the ex-girlfriend IMO seem to have better chemistry between them than he and the actress playing his crush object in Crush.

I also like this song’s melody than Crush – not too many annoying runs.

However, I agree that the Archuleta image shown after the breakup appears much older and serious than the one shown in the flashback of the relationship.

Maybe this discrepancy is good, though, in that it further supports Archuleta’s “A little not too over you” lament regarding his relationship with his ex ( so happy and youthful looking before, and now looking sad and depressed after the breakup).

Much, much better than Crush most definitely. The girl and him have lots of chemistry. I enjoyed this one a lot.

I really like this music video. Way better than Crush. (btw, I love crush music video and I’m watching it everyday haha) Nice stoyline, contemporary and modern set, more mature David. David and the girl looks like they’re real couple. My favorite part is some scenes from photo frames to their past.
I think he can be a actor after acting classes. Basically, he knows how to express emotion.

ALTNOY is a great song, always thought it would be a hit as well. This fantastic video will help push it along towards the top. I think I like it better than Crush, or maybe I’m tired of Crush and moving on……

On another site, someone suggested that the difference between the perceived age of ‘in-love’ David and ‘broke-up’ David in this video might have been a directorial choice. Some time would have passed — could have been more than weeks. I pined for my lost first love for over a year…

In the opening where he is sitting and wearing the black leather jacket, it appears more like he is wearing a black suit and makes him look shorter and boxier. In my opinion, everytime they shoot him sitting from the front (not the side) he appears smaller. I thought he looked smaller (younger) when sitting on the sofa playing the guitar in the Crush video. Eh, just an observation. On the other hand, the rest of the video is super. He definitely could be an actor with some of those facial expressions, wow, very impressive to do that on cue. The music of course, never any complaints, excellent!

Aw…this is a good song. I didn’t even realize until watching the video (which is very well-done, btw) that I like it better than “Crush.” It’s definitely an earworm; I expect to hear it all over my radio soon enough.

I just listened to “Works for Me”…wow. It kind of reminds me of this (just the sound/style/musical influences, not the subject matter). That comparison may be a stretch, but as soon as the song began, John Legend popped into my head. Can he make a whole album of songs like that? If he did, I’d buy it. (I didn’t buy Archie’s album…I listened to it, but it wasn’t enough my taste to buy the whole thing).

I had moments of doubt, too, but there are some scenes (especially at the beach) where I do see the very same girl.

I think the girl is a better match for Archie than for Elliott, though (even though I read she’s 25 years old?).

I like this video, i think this gonna work, especially for the teenager. and i wanna ask, who is the girl that act with him? She is pretty but there is no informations of her at all in the internet.
