The thing that may have brought Darren Criss to Glee creator Ryan Murphy’s attention when he was looking to cast Blaine, gay prep student and potential love interest for Kurt (Chris Colfer)? “A Very Potter Musical” , written and produced by Darren’s University of Michigan theater group, Team Starkid.  The parody quickly became a viral sensation on You Tube.

So of course, Darren and Starkid were on hand for Leaky Con 2011, the big 4-day Harry Potter convention that took place in Orlando over the weekend.

Even Carly Smithson tweeted about attending!

After the jump, check out Darren and Team Starkid convention performances of Potter favorites, “To Have a Home”, “Different As Can Be”, “Hermione Can’t Draw” and “Ginny” Update: Added “Get Back to Hogwarts”, “Harry Freaking Potter” and “Not Alone” and “Hey Dragon”.

The last in the series of Harry Potter movies, The Deathly Hallow Part 2, took in $168.6 million domestically from Friday to Sunday in its opening weekend, beating a record previously set by The Dark Knight.
