American Idol alums came out on top of the K-LOVE Fan Awards. Christian music fans voted American season 8 singer Danny Gokey Male Artist of the Year and his hit song “Tell Your Heart to Beat Again” Breakout single. Lauren Daigle (Seasons 9 & 11) nabbed Female Artist of the Year and Artist of the Year.
Backstage, Danny told The Christian Beat that his next album is set to be released on November 11. “We were trying to push it to next year and our label said ‘no’,” Danny explained, “So we got into the studio and got to work…And I got to tell you, well, you’re not supposed to talk about your own things, but I’m really happy with this album!”
Sunday night’s show at the Grand Ole Opry House was co-hosted by TV anchor Elizabeth Hasselbeck and Christian music star Matthew West. The fan-voted awards ceremony is presented by Christian radio network K-LOVE.
