Oh, I also watched Danny’s Idolatry video. It wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it might be. I thought in the beginning he seemed a little resigned…like he wasn’t comfortable or something. Even though you could tell that he was hurt by all of the negativity(what normal person wouldn’t be?), I still think he came off as a nice guy. I actually liked the way he handled the critisism from the Daughtry producer…at first saying that was a bold statement to say he wouldn’t be successful. And then reflecting on it and stating that he felt the guy did have a point about him not presenting a clear idea of who he was as a singer. I thought that was actually a very mature way of handling the matter.

He talked about how his wife died, his AI journey, type of album he wants to make, his wife’s Foundation, and some Q&A. He had nothing but good things to say about AI and fellow contestants. You will also agree that he is good at being a spokeperson.

Let me say this, after watching the video, if you are a Danny hater, you may find something that he said pisses you off, but if you are a fan, you will love him even more.

Also, does anyone know of a good fansite for Danny. I’d like a little more information. Thanks.

He is awesome. Most or all of these contesants are new to the lime light – it does take time to get polished.

I read these blogs now and see how things have turned for the better since Idol is over. Danny is a real small town American guy that faced a major tragedy at a young age and he faced that with enormous courage.

I live in the Milwaukee area – we love Danny Gokey like you wouldn’t believe. When I listened/and viewed the posting of Danny on Ryan’s radio show and they displayed the pics of his wife and he mentioned how his heart sank when their wedding photos was the first photo they showed – I just started bawling. I can’t imagine his pain. I can tell you right now – if I faced his tragedy, I’d be in a closet – I’d have no hope- like he said he did – but he had music to turn to. I can’t sing worth crap! I wish the best for Danny!!

I think that Danny agrees about Anoop too. :smile2_tb: He is always praising Anoop and has been very supportive to him. I know that at his homecoming celebration, this week, he talked about how smart and talented Anoop is for a little while, after someone asked him about Anoop. Based on stuff that heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s said, I think that he really understands and cares for Anoop.

I think that him and Anoop are really close. Anoop has said that Danny has a big heart. I believe that Matt and I also think that Adam said the same thing about Danny. And Kris said that Danny is like a brother to him, and heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s close to other contestants. He has said lots of really nice things about all of the contestants.

I think that Danny is a good guy. I think that he is definitely still grieving his wife, and I think that the way that he talked about her early on in the competition, turned a lot of people off from him. But I think that his grief was so fresh at the time and that is why he was acting like that. Plus I believe the producers had a hand in how his clips were edited.

I think they thought that he was using her memory as a way to get ahead on the show, and I think that a lot of people disliked him because of that. And then that dislike for him from a lot of people just manifested. And then add, his awkwardness at times, his rambling in the past, plus all the pimping he received, and IMO, you have a misunderstood person that a lot of people dislike.

Not to mention how a lot of people felt like he was pushing his faith on them, and that is another reason why people dislike him.

Even though I never thought that he tried to push his faith on anyone because he never specifically mentioned Christianity on the show. All he said was that he wanted to be an inspiration to people and sung a couple of inspirational songs. IMO, thatà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s really all that he did and I never thought he tried to push his faith on anyone.

And a lot of people think heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s arrogant/smug, which is something else that I donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t think that he is or never was on the show. He says heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s competitive, and I believe that but I donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t think that heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s arrogant.

But in spite of all of that, I think and hope that Danny is going to be okay. There may be a lot of people that dislike him, but he also has a lot of fans that care about him.

He has become really good friends, with the other contestants, and theyà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ll support him and vice versa. I think that he will work through his grief. And even though he might ramble at times and act awkward at times, I think that heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ll be okay.

I think that he is doing really well in his post show interviews, and is coming off as sincere, and nice, even to those that havenà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t liked him. And if he can get a good vocal coach, good writers/producers behind him, he could do decently in the music business. Because IMHO, he is a good singer.

Danny should have taken a cue from the young widow who auditioned for à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‹So You Think You Can Danceà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢. She waited until two tears after her husband died. Do we really know if Danny is normally annoying, or is his behavior influenced by his wifeà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s death and no allowance for mourning time.

Maybe with time, heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ll be more normal?

This year was the last year that he could try out for the show and he did it because his wife had wanted him to do it, and he wanted to do it. I don’t think that he is normally annoying, I love him. He is my 2nd favorite contestant this year after Anoop.

I think that he is definitely still working through his grief, and like aek mentioned is an emotional person, and kind of like an open book. He does ramble at times, but I think that he is a nice, sweet guy. I also have to agree with some of the other posters who think that he is misunderstood.

Maybe with time, he’ll be more normal?
