I think Danny will probably do a major tour with someone else after the holidays, and that will be a good idea. Maybe by that point he can move up to be the middle act, which seems to have worked well when he did it for Tim McGraw and is doing the longer opener sets for Lady A and Sugarland at Frontier Days.

It should be fun to hear though what his own fall tour will look like. Could speculate on who the opening act may be. Some choices might be popular with Danny’s fans (Mallary Hope, for example) but I hope it will be someone who can bring in a few ticket-buyers and possible Danny CD-buyers who might not otherwise come to see Danny.

I have no worries for Danny’s future success anymore. He has proven himself to be a vocal talent and one heck of an entertainer on stage, that has developed an impressive list of personal and professional connections to the industry.

In my mind, these connection or lack thereof, can be the difference between being talented and making it or not. Immediately coming to mind for me, are some way big names… Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban, and Tim McGraw to name a few. He has some tried and true labelmates too… Sara Evans, Martina McBride, Jake Owen, Chuck Wicks and Chris Young.

Thinking back to Danny’s job as an orange carpet host at the 45th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, Danny seemed really well liked by everyone. I remember that nice little visit at the CMA’s with Randy Travis who genuinely likes and supports Danny’s career.

People plain like him. He gives some really fun radio appearances, is super sweet to his fans with meet and greets, and supports numerous charities. What is not to love?

Another wonderful Danny blog, steph!! Thanks so much for keeping us other die hard Danny fans up to date.

As for his next single, I personally would love Life On Ya. It’s uptempo and has a good country sound to it. It’s my current ring tone. I have it set to the loudest possible ringer and when my phone rings out in public, everyone stops and looks at me. LOL!!!

Can’t wait to hear more about his fall tour and who’s opening for him. Keep the updates coming, steph. :)

ETA: The only “love” song on his album is Crazy Not To. I love that song, but not sure if the melody of the song is “radio friendly”.

Thinking back to Danny’s job as an orange carpet host at the 45th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, Danny seemed really well liked by everyone. I remember that nice little visit at the CMA’s with Randy Travis who genuinely likes and supports Danny’s career.

One of my favorites from that orange carpet show was when Charles Kelley of Lady Antebellum came up behind Danny when he was talking to Luke Bryan (?), and gave them both a big hug then said something to Danny about how Danny fit into country music because of what a big heart he has. Awwww. The Randy Travis moment was great too.

There was a radio interview with Danny some weeks later where a DJ told him their station had interviewed Randy earlier this year. He said Randy had talked about the reasons that he’d encouraged Danny to go country, and that Randy was happy Danny was doing well.

No idea how it came up in Randy’s interview but I sure liked hearing that Randy had said that in a context where Danny wasn’t even around :)

I went to Danny’s very first concert in NY last September and he did introduce the full band then.

    Great post! Thanks Steph!
