I have been laughing at Danny all day. I never though the fool would provide such entertainment value.

Now here's what a cool wedding looks like. This clip has gone viral and in only a few days has 1,600,000 hits:

jpfan - thanks for the quote, truest word ever indeed. But I hope you're not thinking this quote applies only to Danny, cos I think Adam and to a lesser extent Kris are also "hugely popular" right now.

I think Danny most certainly takes himself seriously, and that, by imitating Adam (plenty of evidence), he is trying to be cool.

I have never seen him imitate Adam. People keep saying that he all of a sudden started taking the jacket off, started wearing the chain, and leather jacket, and say that's copying Adam.

He started taking his jacket off on the first night of the tour. It was always a part of his set.

He started wearing the hip chain thingy on AI. I think it was Miles Siggens' idea actually. He also wore a leather jacket on AI. Again, Siggins told him that he should use his wardrobe money to buy this leather jacket that Danny liked but thought was too pricey.

Any dance move similarities (which I don't think there are many, personally), I am sure stem from the fact that they both worked with the same 'hot shot' choreographer that came during the rehearsals to help the idols figure out how to work the stage for their sets.

Danny isn't trying to imitate Adam. Adam didn't invent wearing chains, leather jackets, dancing or twirling the mike stand. Now if Danny starts wearing blue eyeshadow, workign the mikestand, or sings a ballad sitting on a chair surrounded by blue light and stands at the dramatic moment in the song, then I'll be the first to say that he's imitating Adam.

Danny was interested in dancing long before Idol and he really has improved in his stage presentation a lot since he walked on Idol.

And Siggens is responsible for Danny's new style. I don't think that Siggens did Danny any favors by being so obvious about trying to make Danny "cool". Even before the finals, they were working on Danny's image, changing his glasses, clothes, etc. IMO the glasses were good, the rest not so good. What do the chains have to do with who Danny is? Some of is is just not authentic and authenticity should have been one of Danny's most important image factors.

That's it. The solution to Danny's next career move. It's time to remake the Wedding Singer!! I'd give Danny the part of Jimmie Moore played by John Lovitz in the movie. Here's a clip:

Jimmie Moore - The Wedding Singer

Adam was also up for the part, but Danny just was so much better for it!! Instead, I cast Adam in three cameo spots that only he could fill. (He'll get to dress up and get 3 different hair styles, and makeup!!)

Here's my suggeston for the entire AI8 cast:

Adam Sandler ... Robbie, the sweet, soulful singer/sonwriter -- Kris Alen

Drew Barrymore ... Julia, the slightly edgy young girl with a raspy voice -- Alison

Christine Taylor ... Holly, Julia's hot blond friend -- Megan

Allen Covert ... Sammy, the limo driver, who tries so hard to be cool and a lady's man -- Matt

Jon Lovitz ... Jimmie Moore the other wedding singer who does the "sexy dance" -- Danny

Matthew Glave ... Glenn, the junk-bond dealer boyfriend -- Michael (sorry, but Michael is the right body type - he'll just have to act like an a-hole)

Ellen Albertini Dow ... Rosie, the ditzy old lady who Robbie give singing lessons to -- Paula The Wedding Singer - Rapper's Delight (Ellen Albertini Dow)

Angela Featherstone ... Linda, Robbie's ex girlfriend who thinks she sooooo hot -- Kara

Alexis Arquette ... George the singer who loves Boy George -- Adam - yes, makeup and colorful dreds!

Frank Sivero ... Andy Billy Idol ... Himself in the original -- but Adam in the remake because Billy is too old now. Yes, Adam bare chested in black leather and chains!

Kevin Nealon ... Mr. Simms, the bank manager who won't give Robbie a job -- Simon Cowell

Marnie Schneider ... Joyce, Flight Attendant who helps Robbie -- Lil

Robert Smigel ... Andre, the groom's brother in law who wants to be a singer -- Anoop

Mark Beltzman ... Vegas Air Ticket Agent with the Flock of Seagulls hairdo -- Adam in his third role! But who else could pull off that hair do!!

Al Burke ... Large Billy Idol Fan on plane -- Randy

Member of the Robbie Hart band, on keyboards - Scott

I think this does define him as a wedding singer, not the kind of label he should want at this point in his career. On the other hand, it seems appropriate and I think he is about the cheese and always will be, and the thing is, a lot of people embrace "cheese" and aren't "cool" or jaded, and don't want to be. So while he's not my cup of tea, I think a lot of people do like him, the same people who adore weddings, the Bachelorette, and all that jazz. So to each their own. I'm not going to make fun of Danny. He's just not for me.

High profile gig for Danny - who better to do this than Danny of the top 4?

He is after all the crooner - Come Rain or Shine, You Are So Beautiful. This is what he does best.

I have a feeling that other idol contestants would jump to do this gig if asked had it not been taken by Danny.

Exactly. And not just Idol contestants. Most of the young singers out there, and quite a few older ones as well. Bet on it.

I had to check out VFTW to get their take on this. And actually found Chris Sligh posting and the Danny thread and saying interesting things. This is so on the $:

"it was unfathomable to me while on the Idol tour that I could be as successful at anything as much or more than Blake. On tour, the dude was unstoppable. It was a learning experience to see how little Idol success has to do with real success.

And that was my point with my last post. Danny is hugely popular right now. And that can be a little deceiving. It's hard to realize in the moment that the same kids and fraus who are screaming for you now will be screaming for someone else once the next season of Idol comes around. "

Truest words ever.

Okay I understand people are having fun here.

Just want to provide a couple of points and put things into perspective

Many artists much more famous than Danny, or Kris or Adam for that matter do private gigs. Every idol has a "price', as long as you can pay the price and is approved by the management, you can have say Carrie Underwood sing at your wedding.

I checked the site, am particularly interested in the prize the winner will get, and if all the prizes are being given out as promised, including the jewellery etc, it will very well be close to half a million (just the jewellery is $250K), plus I am sure this event will be much publicized and it should be great for the artist who performs. How many artists have a chance to sing in a production like that? I don't know if Danny will eventually be a "wedding singer" but he will sing in a pretty extravangant wedding production certainly with some degree of publicity attached to it.

Danny is "begging" for this gig, really? If this is how Ryan Seacrest got his guests, did Adam & Kris beg Ryan to appear on the T40 show?

Danny was approached to do this gig, and I believe this shows the organizer feels Danny is the ideal person to sing romantic love songs, plus they also see his growing popularity based on audience/fan reactions at the concerts, that's why they "booked" him. I have a feeling that other idol contestants would jump to do this gig if asked had it not been taken by Danny.

Will see how things turn out. But based on some previous "predictions" in this blog, like Danny will be booed off stage in concert, and the washrooms will have huge lineup during his performances, etc, I am thinking this gig again may prove the nay sayers wrong and it could turn out to be a great one for Danny.

This is tacky on so many levels it isn't even funny. Gokey will never be taken seriously until he stops running his mouth and taking on cheesey gigs. His window of opportunity is fast running out!

PS What is next, Adam for a bar mitzvah? Kris for a christening? Allison for a prom? 19, I know times are tough but come on?

Well, do you know what a radio tour is like? Days of slogging through the country, being made fun of by cheesy djs at all kinds of stations, performing acoustic concerts at 8 in the morning for a handful of local fans, having the djs mispronounce your name and ask you repeatedly the exact same stupid questions that you wish nobody'd ever ask you again, having them make snarky remarks about you on the air after you've left, with no guarantee that they'll ever even play your music? There are quite a few weddings and bar mitzvahs that would look good to you after one of those grueling experiences. And it's all done in the same cause as this -- getting and keeping your name out there in front of people who may, might, possibly, maybe, perhaps support you in some way. No different. And that's what they'll do constantly, even the top ones. And Danny came in third and has not yet been signed. He doesn't have a lot of options. Beggars -- and that's what he is at this point -- famously can't be choosers!

Any dance move similarities (which I don't think there are many, personally), I am sure stem from the fact that they both worked with the same "hot shot" choreographer that came during the rehearsals to help the idols figure out how to work the stage for their sets.

*And* it gets him introduced to a Spelling. ' ¦. This translates into '” Visibility and knowing the rich and famous.

Ummm' ¦I'm pretty sure Tori was cut out of the Spelling fortune. That's why she's forced to do stupid sh!t like this.

Cut out or not, she's still got the name and is way more part of the in crowd than Danny is at this point. Making Hollywood connections is always going to be a part of the game and big names are big names, wills and bequests be damned. Networking is pretty much the whole game. And you have to start anywhere that's available to start.

Danny's in no position to turn down things that aren't sufficiently high-toned. In the business he's in, that's a recipe for a quick trip back to Milwaukee permanently.
