OMG I suck so much.

I picked either Louie or Michael for elimination tonight.   WRONG.

The four couples “in jeopardy” this week were: Joanna and Max Derek,   Aaron and Karina, Natalie and Alec and Melissa and Mark.

All four couples sat at the top of the leaderboard at one time or another.     Louie is a terrible dancer, but he and his partner, Chelsie are too cute together.   Michael and his partner Anna have become this season’s survivors. Viewers love an underdog!

Natalie and Alec and Aaron and Karina were the bottom two.   The judges were really pissed.

Natalie and Alec are eliminated!

Wow, that is some effed up shite.   Olympic swimmer, Natalie Coughlin goes out at 10!

Her reserved personality probably did her in, despite consistently beautiful work on the dance floor week after week.   Out of the bottom 4 couples it should have been Aaron Carter.   Not only have his performances been uneven, but he’s also, erm,   a d-bag.   Argh!

  • iluvai

This is really a shame because Natalie is a beautiful dancer. I was also amazed at how different she looks all fixed up away from the pool. Bummer for her fans who don’t get to see anymore dances.

  • rayni

I hate that she’s gone before Aaron, Louie or Michael but she was gonna be gone anyway. She was never going to win – just not engaging enough. Her attitude during last night’s group dance did her in. America loves it’s cheese – she couldn’t do cheese.

  • ShariG

I am really bummed that Alec is out of the competition. He is one of my favorite male dancers of the pros, but I do have to say that they didn’t seem to have a lot of chemistry and I think it is hard not to have chemistry with Alec.

I would never have picked them to be eliminated though. I think their pasa dobla was much better than Aaron and Karina, Louie and Chelsie, and Michael and his partner. I love Mark Ballas, but I thought Alec and Natalie were better than Mark and Melissa, too. So bummed.

Glad to see Derek Hough back. The Michael Jackson tribute was great and he is just so fun to watch.

  • ShariG

I agree about Aaron. There is something really unlikeable about him.

  • adamlover

i am also annoyed that natalie was booted off tonite..and as far as aaron is concerned..he is extremely unlikeable

  • Sherena

Argh. She was underscored too. I really liked her. She had a unique quality to her dancing: fluid and graceful, yet still strong. But I knew she wouldn’t last long, not with a boring partner like Alec. I would’ve preferred Louie to go before her. But apparently Louie is more popular than I thought…This makes me angry because I can’t enjoy watching someone with legs that short dance, plus he isn’t very good.

Were the bottom 4 explicitly stated as the bottom 4 vote getters?

  • sunchick

I think the lack of chem between Natalie and Alec hurt her more than her dancing. Sucks, that. The first three couples announced safe might make for a decent final three, though. Frontrunners Donnie and Mya, and darkhorse Mark? I could go for that.

I’m still sad that SYTYCD was denied the MJ tribute, but that was pretty cool. Too much Derek for my tastes, though. And sniff, what could have been with Wade.

  • smartcookie

I’m bummed. I don’t like Melissa, Joanna, Aaron or Donny in terms of personalities, and I think Louie, Kelly, Michael and Mark have had okay moments as dancers, but not that great, and not lately. Natalie is beautiful and sweet and a lovely dancer EVERY WEEK. So SHE goes home instead of any of those? I blame the judges for not making a fuss over her like they did Melissa last week (and Melissa’s tango this week was weakweakweak.)

Yeesh. Yeah, I think my relationship with this show is OVAH.

  • leeaundra

Well, my pool picks are a disaster.

I get Louie and Michael staying…they were better than last week, although neither are dancers (HUGE understatement).

I thought Natalie was underscored, but I am no judge.

I find Aaron and Karina both incredibly unlikeable. Would have been happy to have seen them go…

But my pick this week was Joanna. Bitch doesn’t know which foot to go back on and she blames Maks for the stumble – on camera? The guy was good enough to take her clumsy ass on and she disses him on camera for her mistake. I really thought more people would have been offended by that, so I picked her to get her sorry self booted this week.

  • HarlequinofHate

I was SO happy that Joanna and Derek didn’t go home this week, but the bottom 4 was really crazy. Like MJ said Louie and Michael definitely should have been in the bottom 2, but Louie and Cheslie are too cute together and Michael is the underdog. Still weird though. Sorry to see Natalie go, I expected her last longer, but that’s how viewer-voted shows go (and I hate it).

  • http://www.twitter.com/sarahruth3 Sarah

Shoulda listened to me, mj. ;)

I’ve had trouble remembering that Natalie is even in the cast from the very beginning (and I am rainman. lol). So, that never bodes well. It wasn’t that she couldn’t dance. She was consistently good, but just forgettable. I knew going first would hurt her. The combination of going first and being solid but not a standout always spells trouble. And I don’t think she was under scored, either. I think others were over scored.

What other dances are being done next week besides the Jitterbug?

  • http://myspace.com/girlgeek mj

I blame the judges for not making a fuss over her like they did Melissa last week (and Melissa’s tango this week was weakweakweak.)

Yes, they were really hard on her this week.

  • smartalek

wtf, PLEASE ppl if u r voting for either Michael or Louis, Please stop. It should be illegal. Louis and Michael need to go home next week in the double elimination. Enough’s enough. Why let good dancers go home. The idiotic voters are making the viewers miserable. Just cut it out already. At least I was right that Aaron Carter was in the bottom 2 again, I think that’s all of my points for the week in MJ’s pool. Why can’t the judges just give terrible scores to the trully terrible to get rid of them already. This is ruining the show. The 4 couples in the bottom this week should have been in the top 6 with Donny and Mya. And FYI, Donny is merely an okay dancer and it’s ridiculous if the viewers crown his the winner. Donny is a great showman who is entertaining and a decent dancer. But he’s definitely not amazing and none of his dances have wowed me.

  • hypnoticwhisper

I wish we could vote for who we want to be kicked off.

That’s the only way Aaron’s getting my vote. ugh. I don’t think he realizes how arrogant he seems.

  • cjinsd

Damn, no more Alec. All the pretty is getting kicked off.

  • dhunken

This show for me this year is weak and this is a good indication why I think so…Natalie going home and yet Louie or Aaron stay. (though Louis is adorable and very likable, he sucks!) I am so over this year already. The judges are inconstant and You have good dancers getting the same low scores as poor dancers because the judges judge the good dancers under a different harsher criteria. ARGH!!!!!!!

  • http://www.fatladysings.us TFLS

How disappointing. Poor Natalie looked like she was about to cry. Such a lovely dancer. I truly enjoyed watching her. My husband and I were both hoping that Aaron would be the one to get the axe (that kid is SO annoying!). I really think Natalie was underscored and under praised by the judges last night. That doesn’t leave all that many left for me to root for. I hope Kelly Osborne continues to do well. She’s such a ray of light.

  • mandabutter

Ok, I’ve come around on Derek. If I can put up with the cheese of Aaron…I can get over Derek’s camera mugging. He is young BUT also an extremely talented dancer and choreographer. I don’t feel like he can win with Joanna tho. She’s not likeable and I have no idea who she is or why she is famous? I’m not trying to be smart or funny -i just really don’t know what she’s done.

Very sad that Natalie left. I usually put at least half my votes behind her and I didn’t vote this week cuz I was busy. :( I think it speaks to having a popular PRO partner and having a strong fan base pre-DWTS.
This was the only season past S.1 (where he won) that Alec Mazo actually lasted more than 2 weeks on the show.

I think Lacey and Mark (fingers crossed–they always look like they have something better 2do) or Mike and Ana will be next in elimination…Though I would like it to be Joanna or Louie. Louie’s charm has worn off, i saw the blatant use of their “crush” in editing to mask the fact that they really didn’t do anything on the dancefloor.

How they rank for me (for u): my opinions, not based on scores
    Mya >>Donny >> Melissa = Aaron >Kelly O >>Mark >Louie = Joana >>>Michael Irvin [add all and divide by 10 = Chuck]

  • Grammie Kari

Here is where popularity over-rides performance. Natalie has a presentation of elegance, and you could tell how disappointed she was. I was too.

I have mentioned that being a star on SYTYCD does help as far as having a fan base going into the show. Dmitry and Lacey are most deserving of going on. Chelsie is such a talented dancer; Louie is not.

It would not have been fair to Joanna to leave this week, but I just don’t like her. I have felt Michael to be a weak contestant; football fans do not. Aaron did such a nice job this week that I felt he deserved to return.

As we know, the best dancer doesn’t always win. In fact, sometimes the best dancer is the second place winner.

  • bean99

This show is obviously not about the best dancer winning for the most part. Sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn’t. Popularity and name recognition is as important and probably even more than talent. Personality is also important and that’s where I think Natalie lost points because she’s so reserved. I really liked her dancing and she was one of my favorites but I worried that she’d go early. There are a few others that should have gone first imo and I’d have had her in my top 4.

At this point my favorite is Donnie partly because I like him and partly because I think he’s pretty good. Best technically is Mya but she leaves me cold. I really like Kelly and hope she can hang in there. I also like Melissa because she’s someone who’s working really hard to do well without the natural talent some of the others have.

  • Allison

It’s a shame for Natalie, as she cuts a beautiful figure on the dance floor, but I could see it coming. Her dance this week was oddly uninspiring, and I don’t care what you say about Aaron, Karina was absolutely wonderful this week and she deserved to stay. Honestly Michael and Louie should really be out next, even though Chelsie and Louie are so cute together. Louie just cannot dance, and Michael is one step above him.

  • butte009

Disappointed the Natalie was sent home. IMO she had potential. Although I don’t understand how anyone couldn’t develop chemistry with Alec! Edyta even gave her consent!

For me the bottom four should have been Michael, Louie (even though I like him and Chelsea), Melissa, and Aaron.

While I don’t care for the excessive fawning over Donny he has turned out to be a better dancer than Marie (who lasted much longer than she should have). But still not worthy of 10s when Mya is only getting 9s. His ballroom is much better than his Latin.

Mya is far and away the best dancer of the lot. Whether it’s fair that she has some sort of dancing background when the others don’t is a different matter.

  • gulfluv

I was sad that Natalie went home, she was one of my favorites, and I was excited that Alec finally had a partner he could get back to the finals with. Oh well.
However, I loved, loved, loved Nora Jones and Anna and Jonathon’s dance was beautiful and romantic. So sweet that that was their wedding song, too.

  • lucy

Natalie is beautiful and sweet and a lovely dancer EVERY WEEK. So SHE goes home instead of any of those?

Well, part of it is that she’s a girl. They always have to be way better to stay, it seems. The women are at huge risk in the voting, pretty much always, unless they have a huge built-in fanbase. Whereas the guys can get away with a lot more. Happens every season, doesn’t it?

  • Miss Chaos

I’m still staying on liking Aaron, I dont see him as having an attitude, he seems nervous and trying hard. Showing hes been in the spotlight since he was young hes kinda got that Child Beauty pageant attitude. You can tell when he’s always looking at the camera. He’s a good dancer, tall and elegant, I wish Karina would work on his facial presentation. What do I know. Everytime some one says Melissa’s name I have to back and see who the heck they are talking about, I keep thinking of Melissa from last year, from the Batchlorette. I voted for Natalie to go home, as soon as I saw her costume, and her dancing to a non Latin song, it just didnt fit, and left me cold. Joanna can go, BYE,BYE. The top three should be the top three they had on first, I’m ok with that. I think its a close race this year, no one is great or standing out every week like other years. We may see some surprises.

  • Reflections On Life

DWTS is such an ancient show… doesn’t voting by popularity, fan base, likability, or pro dancer get OLD after a while? Wouldn’t it be refreshing, original, unexpected, and unscripted to vote on, i dunno, say, talent & performance? It’s like VFTW is running the voting for this show…

I find it interesting that ppl didn’t vote for Natalie bcuz of “lack of personality”. Ironically, she seemed like the only normal/sane one of the bunch, having natural reactions to her situations. Like being embarrased to be overly romantic with another woman’s husband is normal. She’s the only one I could imagine actually befriending.

By talent & performance, Mya is an order of magnitude better than anyone else there. I’ve never watched DWTS before, but the lack of competition is making this boring, and the voting patterns is making this rather silly.

  • sunchick

I think Lacey and Mark (fingers crossed’“they always look like they have something better 2do)

What makes you say that? They had the most ambitious choreography this week and danced it well…the solo was a good call and a butterfly twist (in dance heels no less) aint easy. I think Mark might make it to the finale if he can keep the momentum going now and not backslide into the middle of the pack again.

“”It would not have been fair to Joanna to leave this week, but I just don’t like her. I have felt Michael to be a weak contestant; football fans do not. Aaron did such a nice job this week that I felt he deserved to return.”"

Grammie, you took the words right out of my mouth – My fav is Donnie, Mark is sneaking up on me, I was loving Louie but more because of Chelsea – I am getting frustrated with him just walking around now, I loved Kelly at first but not so sure now but I just love Louis so I want them to stay. I am sad about Natalie, what a sweet heart. Mya leaves me cold too as Bean said – Aaron is a good dancer and I dont see the sleeze, I just see a cute blonde kid trying hard but I really wouldnt care if he stayed or went. Football guy can go too – and thems my thought on that.

Oh Miss Chaos – ha – I forgot about Melissa too

  • bean99

I just read at another site that Mya has professional dance experience as a dancer and choreographer. If that’s true it’s unfair to the others and I hope she doesn’t win.

  • http://www.twitter.com/sarahruth3 Sarah

I think I say this every season, but ballroom dancing is obviously very different from hip hop, modern, tap, ballet, whatever. A quick glance at a show that covers multiple styles of dance like SYTYCD will show you that just because a person has years of training in one of those styles does not automatically make you this fantastic ballroom dancer. I’ve read a lot about Dancing with the Stars (I get bored at work, what can I say.), and as far as I have seen, Mya has had NO ballroom training. So, nothing unfair about her being trained, IMO. Other past contestants have had dance training too – Brooke Burke, Mel B, Melissa Rycroft, Kristi freaking Yamaguchi.

Having trained in other styles only gives her an edge in work ethic and picking up choreography pretty easily – the same edge that athletes and singers/performers/boybanders have. So yeah. Don’t see why she’s any different.

Mya/Dmitry, Mark/Lacey, and Kelly/Louis are my favorites. Mya and Dmitry have had some of the sexiest, steamiest dances in the HISTORY of DWTS, IMO, so I’m at a loss about them leaving people “cold” or whatever. Mark and Lacey I like because they seem to work really hard and as I said the other night, Lacey seems to generally give him difficult choreography that he does his damndest to do something with. Plus he’s growing and improving. Kelly and Louis I just love because they are so much FUN. Plus I know if she’d just let down her guard and quit being so damn self-concious and nervous out there, she’d be great, because she’s got some natural talent.

Anyway – a top 4 of Donny/Kym, Mya/Dmitry, Mark/Lacey, & Kelly/Louis would be fine with me. And no worries about Mya winning. Donny Osmond was winning this season of DWTS ever since the cast was announced and he was listed in it.

  • Grammie Kari

Yes, Mya and Dmitry are hot, hot, hot!

Sounds like a GOOD Top 4 to me.

Edit to Add: We have just been informed that Michael Jackson’s children did watch the tribute last night. Their favorite dancer is Donny!

  • sunny2

Wow, I predicted that Natalie would go all the way last week. How disappointing. I was nervous though when I saw her dance early and everyone after her got more praise.

I also should of know that DWTS was messing with me when they showed Joanna and Aaron in jeapordy, I was so happy that one of them might go. Very frustrating, I think I’m goung to stop watching until they get the boot.
