Dancing With the Stars 13 – Week 1 Results

Meta World Peace and Peta Murgatroyd are sent home on the first week of results!

Here we go again!  Dancing With the Stars 13 Week 1 Results AND  Meet the Cast Night!  I’ll be blogging both the Meet the Cast and the actual results.  First three couples are sent to the stage!

Meta World Peace and Peta Murgutroyd are sent to center stage with Tom!  Meta says he prefers to be called “Meta.”  He came out first last night, but scored the lowest scores.  Meta says he waited all dance to spank Peta!  Tom and the contestants will physically go through the routines and make comments as they watch them back.  Hehe – Meta says Len wasn’t hard on him, but hard….with him….?  Again, okay Meta.  They are sent to the skybox.

Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer are called with Tom next!  Tom points out the crowd was very enthusiastic for Chaz.  Chaz is all smiles looking back at the video!  Lacey points out that Chaz is very shy, but he sold his performance.  That’s for sure!  There is pressure in coming out last, plus pressure from the media, points out Tom.  Uh oh!  Tom has a video of Chaz saying that he was afraid of Cheryl Burke for being hard on Gilles Marini in Season 7!

Next with Tom are Rob Kardashian and the SCARY Cheryl Burke!  Tom says Cheryl scares him too!  Mama Kardashian told Tom that she was impressed with Rob.  Cheryl was whispering dirty things to get Rob to smile!  Ouch, Rob points out that Dancing With the Stars only got 20 million viewers on its premier.  Rob refuses anything to do with numbers, even in his counting.

Elisabetta Canalis and Val Chmerkovskiy are next.  Tom points out that Len hated to bed.  Val says now the antics of the prop and the taking off of the shirt are out of the way for the rest of the season.  The judges bashed Elisabetta last night, I think they did a pretty okay job last night though.  Elisabetta’s shoulder is easily dislocated.

David Arquette and Kym Johnson.  I like David.  Tom says David genuinely wants to be there and dancing.  Len is all smiles watching the video of David.  I think he’ll connect well with the viewers at home.  David wears his own crazy outfits every practice!

Carson Kressley and Anna Trebunskaya.  Carson says David’s unitard is out of his own wardrobe!  Carson is smelling the clothes.  Carson says Maks and he wear the same size jacket!  “It’s like Cinderella!”  Maybe they could be roommates.  Len says Carson brought the HA HA HA to the CHA CHA CHA.  He’s got the encore of the week!  I still can’t get over how Carson is really quite good!  Nevermind, he lost it in the middle segment.  Carson is too funny!  Len can’t stop laughing!

Hope Solo and Maks Chmerkovskiy are next!  Maks says his ballroom was the best he ever saw, but ignored Hope!  He criticizes Hope to get her to improve.  Shout out to Carson from Maks!  Carson shoots back the “call me” sign!!! Hope calls Maks a very girly guy!  Yay for a partner who stands up to Maks!

Kristin Cavallari and Mark Ballas.  Tom says the gossip around the building was Kristin’s nerves.  But Kristin’s hip action wasn’t very nervous, says Tom!  Carrie Ann liked her hairography.  Kristin did a really nice job yesterday, too!  Carrie Ann sees a ton of potential in Kristin.

J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff.  Tied of the lead last night!  Adrenaline and the beautiful floor pushed them to do so well.  Tom says he bets J.R. earned a lot of fans last night.  J.R. says he feels blessed to be here and that he was so inspired last night.

Pimping for the new Dancing With the Stars set!  Kym says they have the largest mirrorball in North America.  There are now three levels.

Chynna Phillips and Tony Dovolani.  Chynna started the dance with a solo, for anyone who didn’t notice yesterday.  I think that Chynna was hands down the best of the night, better than J.R.  The balletic touches really put it over the edge.  Chynna dances in her dreams!

Nancy Grace and Tristan McManus.  Tom says personality-wise, Nancy is a completely different person.  Tristan messed up in the performance, while Nancy was right!  Nancy was avoiding everyone’s eyesight yesterday because she “was in character.”  Tom points out that Tristan likes to boost her up, while she throws him under the bus!  Nancy tells him that he sounds like a leprechaun in a totally serious conversation!

Ricki Lake and Derek Hough are our last couple!  Ricki is the posterchild for having fun.  Derek says she looked like an absolute princess.  She walked away with fourth place last night.  She flashed her butt last night!  She was so excited that she ended the dance earlier than it should have.  It’s summer camp all over again, but this time she got the lead in the play.  Ricki says she feels like a child.  Aww.  Welcome back to Derek, as well!

With a minute left before the results show, Len says he loves that there is no frontrunner yet.  Oh, Len and his rhyming phrases.  Bruno and Carrie Ann agree 100% with Len.  In less than an hour one the contestants will be going home.  This is Dancing With the Stars!  Lady Gaga’s “The Edge of Glory” plays while the pros do an introductory dance.  Now THIS is a cha cha!  All three of the judges are on their feet clapping DURING the performance.  It’s sort of like a flashmob-all sorts of crazy!  Oooh Lacey choreographed that.

Rob & Cheryl, Elisabetta & Val, and Ricki & Derek are first.  Ricki was very happy.  Elisabetta was upset.  The Kardashians tell Rob to smile before he danced.  Ricki is 4 points ahead of Rob, and 5 ahead of Elisabetta.  Ricki and Derek are SAFE.  No surprise here.  Elisabetta and Val are SAFE!  Wow!  Did not see that one coming.  Elisabetta is unsure if she’s safe or not because Brooke calls her Elizabeth!  Rob and Cheryl are IN JEOPARDY.  The audience boos, and you can pick out the Kardashian clan booing.  Poor Rob.

Carson said what I was thinking yesterday- Elisabetta Canalis sound like a delicious Italian confection!  Probably because Canalis sounds like canole.  Elisabetta just sounds foreign and pretty.

Grammy-winning actor and musician Harry Connick Jr. from his Broadway show performs. Pretty.  Loving the Rat Pack feel.

More results!  Hope and Maks are SAFE!  Meta and Peta are IN JEOPARDY.  Kristin and Mark are SAFE!  Yay!

DWTS Troupe cast members introductions.  Can I get a “FILLER FILLER?”  Then they dance.  One of the girls has blue hair.  I like it.  More ABC promotion for another show premiering tomorrow.

And….ABC is not airing on my television?  But all of the other channels are working.  I think LMFAO is supposed to be performing “Party Rock Anthem” right now.  AH.  We’re back.  Dancers and dancing with them.  I wonder how you sing this live without sounding getting drowned out by everything going on around you singing.  LOVE the shuffling part!  So cool.  I am tired of this song though, it’s on the radio 24/7.

J.R. Martinez & Karina Smirnoff, Chynna Phillips & Tony Dovolani, and Chaz Bono & Lacey Schwimmer take the stage next!  Chynna and Tony are SAFE.  J.R. and Karina are SAFE.  No surprise, no surprise.  Chaz and Lacey are….SAFE.  Nice fake-out, Tom!  I do mean that.  Seven couples are safe, two are in jeopardy.  Either Carson, Nancy, or David will be put in jeopardy after the break, likely.

David Arquette & Kym Johnson, Carson Kressley & Karina Smirnoff, and Nancy Grace & Tristan McManus are our last three couple.  David and Kym are SAFE!  Nancy and Tristan are IN JEOPARDY.  Nancy rolls her eyes.  Carson and Anna are SAFE of course!

Rob and Cheryl are safe!  Nancy and Tristan and Met and Peta are not necessarily our Bottom 2.  Both pros are our newbies this year.  The crowd is cheering for Nancy!  I hope she stays.  The couple with the lowest overall total and therefore leaving us is…….Meta and Peta.  Nancy and Tristan are SAFE!  Meta is….cheering?  He’s very cocky.  Peta does deserve a round of applause.

Catch the couple on Jimmy Kimmel tonight.  See y’all next week!
