Drake’s “One Dance” tops the Hot 100 for a sixth week topping the On-Demand chart (20.3M) as well. “Can’t Stop that Feeling” from JT and the “Trolls” ascends to 2nd this week (it started at number one and then dropped to third until now). CStF tops the digital charts for a sixth week with 124K in sales. Designer’s “Panda” drops to third while retaining the top of the Streaming chart (29.3M). The Chainsmoker’s “Don’t Let Me Down” (featuring Daya) remains at 4th, Calvin Harris gets over his break-up (and prepares to have a song written about him) by reaching a new high of 6th with “This is What You Came For” featuring Rihanna. Rihanna follows herself at number 7th with “Needed Me” and Mike Posner is still in it with “I Took a Pill in Ibiza” at 9th. Sia moves into the top 10 with “Cheap Thrills” featuring Sean Paul. This is her fourth top 10 on the chart.
X-Factor’s Fifth Harmony remain at fifth with “Work From Home” featuring Ty Dolla $ign. “All in My Head (Flex)” (the second single from their current album “7/27”) debuts at 32nd on Pop Songs.
It’s time to collect the sixth month tallies and HDD rounds up the numbers for us. The top selling album to date in 2016 is Adele’s “25” with 1.54M in sales and an 8.8M in total. with Drake having the best selling album released in 2016 (1.43M). That probably isn’t a surprise to anybody. What may surprise you is that “Seven Years” from Lukas Graham is the top selling single with 1.68M this year and 1.8M total. Zayn and Fifth Harmony make the top 10. “Pillow talk” has sold 1.23M for 5th and “Work from Home” clocks in at 10th with 948K in sales.
They also summarize the streaming. Once again, Zayn’s “Pillowtalk” is at 5th with 160M streams and Fifth Harmony is at 13th with 121M streams.
