Watch a preview of Season 9 Idol runner up, Crystal Bowersox on Body of Proof, airing tonight on ABC at 10 pm.

Crystal plays Zoe Brant, a suspect in the murder of a champion equestrian.

“She’s a bad girl with a good heart, kind of like me,” Crystal tells TV Line in an interview, “I’m more of a good girl now with a good heart, but I used to be [like Zoe], though I don’t know what it’s like to be incarcerated at all. I know nothing about it. My juvenile record is sealed so it’s all good.”

Crystal’s close relationship with her son, Tony, helped her prepare for the role. “Zoe was incarcerated for drug dealing, and she’s on some kind of work-release program [where she gets to see] her young daughter,” says Crystal. “I could not imagine what it would be like to be locked up for a bad decision and not be able to see my child. I can hardly go a weekend playing a show without missing him like crazy, so I drew my inspiration from the things I could find in common with the character.”

Crystal is impressive here.  For her first real acting job?  That’s fantastic.  And the camera loves her.

Hey, she’s good… Simple and real, like her singing.  I’ve never seen the show…I’ll record it.

She has an angelic face underneath all the ‘tude and hair! Go Crystal! I will check this out tonight. :)

What a fantastic opportunity for Crystal! And from what we can see here, she does great. I agree Tinawina, she does have an angelic face, even when she’s trying to be mean and hard-edged.

Wow, she’s good.  Maybe she needs in additions to here singing and songwriting, to pursue acting as well.  The camera really does love her, and she convincing too.  Wow.  What a talented young lady.

    Color me suitably impressed.

Wow.  She’s really good.  I honestly wish she’d get rid of the hair because it distracts me from her beautiful face.

Can’t wait to see Crystal! I hope she can get more acting roles. Still waiting for her to do the Eva Cassidy bio –she’d be perfect!

Wow, good for Crystal! What a great opportunity — especially to work with Dana Delany, one of my favorite actors. And she’s pretty good, too.

From that first performance of “Natural Woman” where she had her competitors singing along with her, I always thought she had that “something something” that makes people stop and pay attention. Useful for singing *and* acting.

Is she actually in the running to play Eva Cassidy? That would be terrific if it happened.

She did very well, very credible ,and i love that show and Dana’s too , and ABC even used her name in the preview promo segment , Well done!! (to her team too )

I also watch the show regularly and Crystal did a real nice job.  At the end, when she is hugging “her” daughter, I bet she was thinking about her son.  Still think she should have won even if no one is saying it.

I DVR this so I could just FF to Crystal’s part. She was really good, very natural. I agree that she should pursue acting further. She has a more interesting looks rather than the usual pretty blond that is a dime a dozen in Hollywood.
