American Idol Season 9 alum, Crystal Bowersox, duets with Blues Traveler on “Don’t Wanna Go” a cut from the band’s forthcoming album, Suzie Cracks the Whip, due out June 26.

The band’s, John Popper, joined Crystal onstage last year at the SWSX festival in Austin to play harmonica on a few tunes, but ended up staying for her entire set.

    Though I think she made some missteps as a competitor, I loved Crystal & thought she obviously should have won.  Always wondered how well she would have sold with a good winner’s song (like P2′s) and winner promo.

    She sold more than Lee, without the benefit of winning.

    I don’t think that winning mattered.  Unlike Lee, I think she had some people at her label who believed in her, and were willing to give her a chance.  Some of those people left when the big shake-up at Jive happened, and I think Crystal burned some bridges with some of the others.

    Good for Crystal.  Another Idol alum who is taking her own path.  I just hope she’s able to keep the train moving, so to speak, down the road. John Popper is a great harmonica player and has played with Taylor Hicks on a number of occasions.

    Crystal is special…I am always transported by her voice!…….I thought she was a farmer though, lol.

    Crystal and Siobhan were easily the two best singers in AI9 with Siobhan getting my vote because she’s the better performer.

    Love it! But then again I was already a fan of both Crystal and Blues Traveler. Hope this connects with the buying audience!

    Very nice.  The harmonies blended very well for an awesome duet.  Even though Crystal didn’t win season 9, she earned her top 2 spot with her amazing voice.  It’s great that she is still finding ways to get her music out there.

    With all due respect, can we get a better picture/avatar for Crystal on the main page when articles relate to her?  Maybe from her album?  It looks like she is passing a kidney stone.  Thanks.

    I like Crystal, but am not too keen on this duet. She’s a very talented singer/songwriter and I hope that she has enough continued success to keep doing what she loves to support her family.

    Nice harmonies. The song isn’t bad. The harmonica part sounds exactly like it does on every other Blues Traveller song I’ve ever heard, though (which admittedly, is not a ton of songs)

    I do remember at the beginning of the TOP 24, many people thought a girl would win, with Crystal and Siobhan being in the Final 2.  I wish we could have had that special combination.  Both young ladies were terrific on the tour.
