Country Music Awards – Carrie Underwood, Kellie Pickler Nominated for Awards – Carrie co-hosts

WOW Pickler looks amazing tonight, both performing and on the red carpet. Best I’ve ever seen her look. She was off-key in parts but she’s adorable and worked the crowd well. Carrie is a little awkward but doing fine, Brad is hilarious. Keith Urban is HAWT.

Kellie could barely hit those low notes, huh? I couldn’t understand a single lyric except when she was belting on the chorus.

I’m so glad that “Stay” won Song of the Year. I totally heart that song, whether it’s about cheating or not.

Ooooh yay, thanks MJ!! I’m not recording, because I’m actually watching it (seriously, NOTHING I watch except “Gary Unmarried” comes on Wednesday nights, so they seriously picked the best night for this lol), but I did lose track of time at the beginning and missed the first 5 minutes.

I guess Carrie will be singing “Just a Dream”? I know the lyrics are kinda predictable and stuff, but damnit if that song does not get me every. single. time!

Carrie is a force to be reckoned with. Wow. Congrats Carrie!

“Just a Dream” is probably one of the, if not the best Carrie song. It does touch so many people like the women introducing her. Congrats Carrie, you are and will probably always be the most succesful idol

I can hear myself talk. I can tell that all the country drawlin’ I’m hearing and processing is making my accent more pronounced, even just as I talk to my roommate.

ETA: “Just a Dream” is one of my favorite songs of Carrie’s. I actually really love the whole “Carnival Ride” album. And this coming from someone who was not a huge Carrie fan during her season of AI. And hasn’t really come around to liking much country music until lately.

I could tell she was trying not to cry during that performance… now I know why! It certainly is hard to sing when you’re watching a parent get choked up and crying right in front of you!

Am I biased? Or is it a fact that Carrie is wayyy better than Taylor Swift, especially LIVE.

I don’t think you’te biased. :) I love them both, but Carrie is AMAZING live and Taylor doesn’t have much of a voice. I think she’s an incredibly talented writer, and just an okay singer.

Yeah terps, that was my first thought, before she said that in her acceptance speech about her mom. I’ll bet it was a combination of the two.

I was already getting choked up myself just listening to the woman. No matter that the song itself is a tear-jerker.

I really like Carrie Underwood, but I’m not loving that yellow dress. Does it seem to fit in the bust to you? I seems to kind of be too big. Maybe it is just the picture or the angle or something.

Aww. I’m sorry I missed Diana DeGarmo. I think she has a great big voice. It would be cool if she had a career in country. She’s a very talented girl.

There’s George Strait. I couldn’t believe how much I loved Pure Country. He was so hot in that movie. I love his just straight forward, old fashioned, country music vibe.

I liked the yellow dress on Carrie but NOT the color … mustard yellow. Didn’t care for most of Carrie’s outfits except the long blue dress. She looked gorgeous in that.

Then there’s Kellie. What a dress!!!!!!!!!! Doesn’t leave anything to the imagination. Love the dress. the way the shoulders laid on her arms but waaaaaay to much cleavage. I think she overdid the bob job.

By all means ladies, keep drooling over Keith Urban (he’s fantastic in concert by the way, seen him three times), those of us in the other gender will happily enjoy that Kellie Pickler video.

Carrie Underwood looks beautiful in most of her outfits but that white/silver one in the picture where she’s holding her award? Is that from the Peggy Lee Collection?

Carrie has grown so much as a performer and singer of the past couple of years. She usually doesn’t do anything for me, but I was very touched by her performance tonight. Just wow.

And yes, mj, I’m not a huge country fan, but Keith Urban is great.

Keith Urban was born hot and then hit with the sexy stick. Yowza!

I am so happy for Carrie — she really set out on a trip to improve her craft and it’s paying off in a big way.

Too bad they cancelled Hee Haw because Pickler would have been perfect for that show, you know, the funny show with minimal singing (ouch!)

Keith Urban is about as hot as they come – and his guitar playing is incredible.

I saw him live (went to see Carrie/Keith concert) without knowing anything about him and came away a huge fan. I am slowly becoming a country fan.

I think Carrie is great etc and deserves all the awards she has won, but I am just getting tired of seeing/hearing her EVERYWHERE. Overload for me. She has the whole package and probably will be the best selling idol ever.
