Constantine Maroulis to Join the National Tour of Rock of Ages

Via Playbill

Tony Award nominee Constantine Maroulis will reprise his performance in the national tour of the 1980s-set rock musical Rock of Ages, which will launch Sept. 21 in Chicago.

Maroulis earned a 2009 Best Actor Tony Award nomination for portraying Drew, an aspiring musician with pipes of steel in the Tony-nominated musical. He originated the role in the Off-Broadway production at New World Stages in 2008.

“I’m super excited to bring Rock of Ages across America, ” Maroulis told Playbill.com. “I love touring and Drew has been a dream role for me.”

Constantine has gotten pretty good reviews for playing the show’s romantic lead. And apparently, if you’re an 80’s hair metal head, this is the show for you. It features music from all the usual suspects:  Journey, Styx, REO Speedwagon, Whitesnake and more.
