evansville was low on 911. sorry but no matter how many years that pass from that horrific event, i donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t think concerts are where people will want to be on that day.

That's quite possible. There are a lot of factors that go into whether or not people buy tickets. The only other Sept 11 Idol concert date I could find was from Season 3. Manchester, NH sold 79% of their tickets in 2004. That's a very good result for that year (with lows of 27% to highs of 82% if you don't count the three sold out shows in Hawaii). But is it a good result for Manchester? Last year, they sold 85.7% of the tickets and it has also sold out 4 Idol concerts throughout the years. Who knows?

I wanted to mention that there was a show in Oklahoma City granted it was awhile before the Tulsa show, but the Tulsa show still sold out. OKC is just a little over an hour from Tulsa.

Wow, those numbers are really low for the two Indiana shows. Low percentages at smaller venues-- wonder if the Idols noticed they were only performing to ~4000-5000 those two nights when they're used to much larger audiences. And if Evansville's got such a bad track record, I wonder why 19 hasn't wisened up and skipped that venue, especially if they were hitting Indiana two (plus?) other times already? There were major markets being skipped, and they hit Indiana multiple times? Maybe it's just really cheap to play at those venues?

BTW Kristen, a little off topic, but do you have any stats on how many streams (I think thatà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s what ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s called) that Light On got the first 24 hours on popeaters? Really curious.

No, sorry, I haven't seen any. Those kind of stats don't often leak. Unfortunately, I don't have any access to data (I just collect up what leaks on the net or what I can wheedle from people like Nevada who have real connections in the music biz). I'm just a numbers nut. If I see those stats. I'll post them, though.

Wow thanks for the data, you guys! I like data. And HOORAY that the Tulsa Cook Love Fest was a SELLOUT! I was there...still high from it, I think. I'm kinda surprised that neither one of the KC, MO shows was a sellout. But OK. I was at one of those also! Still high from it, I think. Oh and hell yeah Texas needs more shows! More David Cook Tour, I suppose, at this point. Dallas, Houston, San Antonio would be good. Oh I was at the Dallas show too! Still high from it, I think. Wait, maybe it's Light On causing the euphoric feelings. Maybe it's the Tulsa Heartthrob himself. Gawd I'm such a fangirl. Well I. just. love. Cook. So thanks again for the stats! Forwarding to my sister, who was also very interested to see how it went.

They certainly could have afforded to add another Texas show. After Hayley Scarnato, San Antonio deserved a decent show.

Plus, there was a show in Indianapolis in late July, wasn't there? This seems like really stupid 'planning' on 19E's part.

Soon (hopefully next week), Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ll publish the same set of stats for all seasons. I posted a hodgepodge of stats here in the comments section.

Thanks, that would be really interesting to see... :thumbup_tb:

I donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t think ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s just this tour. Evansville doesnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t seem to want to come out for the Idols. In Season 3 (the only other time I have stats for them being there), they had a whopping turnout of 2,060 people (32% capacity) and grossed $91,080. Woo! Thatà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s the only time theyà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve ever made less than 100K at a concert.

So you can say the problem is the venue... :dry_tb:

PS.
I totally admire how much data you have :clap_tb:

It is strange that Fort Wayne and Evansville were so low since they were the last few shows before the final show. Wonder why that was??
