Colton Dixon’s new Christian contemporary single, “You Are” debuted on the radio tonight. Here’s a stream of the new tune, but I have to warn you–the quality is not good.

But it does give you an idea of how the song sounds. And I think Colton has potential in the genre. He is cute, earnest and has a knack for writing nice melodies. Check it out.

“You Are” officially impacts radio on October 19. And the debut album will be released in February 2013.

     You are right!  But “CCM” is a common/popular musical genre, while “religious” music in general is not; I think that’s the main distinction and why it is categorized this way (e.g. that’s the genre he wants to be in).  It could certainly fit into many other belief systems as well.
