Colton Dixon, Mandisa Win at Dove Awards

Congratulations to Colton Dixon and Mandisa who came away from The Dove Awards last night with trophies. The annual event, which took place at the Allen Arena on the campus of Lipscomb University, celebrates Christian/Gospel music.

Love that Mandisa got an honorary award. She was in between albums for this year’s eligibility period but I’m glad they recognized the impact she made this past year in Gospel Music even without having a song on radio during the period. Performing for Robin Roberts on GMA TWICE, singing the National Anthem for the NFL, two sold out tours, two of the top selling singles of the year (despite the fact that they released two years ago) and that “Overcomer” music video all deserve recognition. It makes me happy that the Dove Awards agree :)
