Here’s an update on American Idol season 11 alum, Colton Dixon. His single, “Never Gone” has hit #1 on the Christian AC chart. The music video will debut September 12 on VEVO. Stay tuned for a BTS video just prior to the release. Colton has also been nominated for several DOVE awards, and will be hitting the road with TobyMac, starting November 6.

September 6, 2013 (Nashville, TN) – After 10 weeks on the charts, Colton Dixon’s “Never Gone” from his debut CD A Messenger, goes to the top spot Christian Hot AC chart. This is the 2nd #1 single for Colton.
The video for “Never Gone” was recently completed in Nashville with director Eric Welch (Toby Mac, Carrie Underwood, Jars of Clay) at the helm. The video tells the story of a father and son who find that despite the darkness around us, find there is always light. Through Colton’s raw honesty, fresh energy and eternal message we are reminded of an ever present light with us.
The video for “Never Gone” will debut September 12 on VEVO. Preceding it will be a Behind the Scenes preview on Colton’s YouTube/VEVO channel September 11.
The Gospel Music Association has announced that Colton Dixon has been nominated for 3 awards at this years 44th Annual GMA Dove Awards. The Awards will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at Allen Arena on the campus of Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN at 7:30 p.m. CT and broadcast on Monday, Oct. 21 at 8:00 ET on the UP! Television Network.

Fan favorite Colton Dixon placed 7th in American Idol’s Season 11. Viewing his elimination from the show as a huge opportunity, Colton got right to work collaborating on 13 new songs in 13 days, the start of a songwriting process that ultimately netted him 22 potential tracks and led him to sign with 19/EMI-CMG/Sparrow Records.
