Actually, we don’t know any such thing. I don’t want this thread to get off track, but I don’t think we know one way or another what went on between Archie and his Dad, and we probably never will.

This story is different. Either she’s pregnant by Clay or she’s not. And while gossip sites aren’t entirely reliable, they often get these sorts of stories dead right. I’m not going to dismiss it out of hand.

Tell that to some of the amazing single parents out there who are doing a spectacular job raising their children. Please.

Personally, I’m more a fan of adopting a child if you can’t conceive the old-fashioned way, but everyone has to do what they think is best. While I don’t really care about this story and think it’s between Clay and his swimmers as to what he wants to do with them, I daresay we shouldn’t criticize an unmarried woman for wanting to have a child.

I think that if it’s what the two of them want then good for them….we have no knowledge of how this came about, other than scientifically.

Jaymes Foster is Clay’s exec. producer on his new CD and the producer on “A Thousand Different Ways”.

If it’s a Will and Grace thing, bless ‘em. They’d probably do better at parenting than “bickering bickersons” marrieds.

Sorry, bigmjfan, I just can’t fully hop on board with that. It’s insulting and diminishes the single parents out there who have raised great children all on their own.

Your facts and my facts are not the same facts! LOL. There are plenty of kids who get plenty screwed-up coming from a two parent home too. Believe me. I can point out a few examples in people I know personally.

I’m not saying Ms. Foster’s decision is the right decision for everyone, nor should it be what every woman who wants a child does. But she clearly has the means to take care of a child, whether or not Clay Aiken is involved in the parenting. At least she is having a child because she WANTS one, and not because she can’t figure out how to use birth control, which already puts her one up on a lot of parents out there.

And I don’t know many single women making this decision who AREN’T fully capable of raising a child on their own. (Says the single woman who isn’t in a position to be raising a child, and won’t do so until I am, single or married.)

Hysterical to me. Not sure why though. She’s 50? The odds certainly weren’t with her — goodness. I had my kids at 39 and I’m a friggin’ old mom. Sheesh. Anyway — he sure upped Cook/Caldwell for the wft-AI buzz, didn’t he!

Please – like all families that have both a mom and a dad are good ones? (Hot buttom alert – rant on the way) Some of us are intimately aware that being raised by your married parents aint always a good thing. And, I say this as someone lucky enough to be married to the father of my children, who I must admit is a superhero of a dad. Families come in all shapes and sizes (and a whole bunch of colors). What matters to a child is only that they feel loved, secure and protected. Since so many of them don’t, it’s a little unfair to be all judgemental-like of someone who desires to love a child and how they got said blessing.

Obviously, this woman is older, and her first marriage did not produce children. I assume mothering a child must have been an important goal of hers. Doing so by any legal means is her right, and if they chose to use the magic of science to get there, well that’s their fucking right too.

Whatever they did, and how they did it, if this story is true, obviously these two people conceived a child they intend to love and parent. That makes this alleged kid better off than a big whole bunch of other kids in the world.

I say good for you Clay and whats her name (who knew creepy David Foster had a sister!). I wish you a happy and healthy child, and all of the blessings (and holy shit what the hell was I thinking moments) that come along with it.

And seriously, geez louise MJ, this is now like the 4th time I’ve come out on the defensive for Clay fucking Aiken in like a week. You’ve got to stop putting me in the position – or I’m going to think I’m living in an alternative universe LOL.

Well, I coundn’t bring myself to go to TMZ, but now everyone is pretty much reporting it, and it seems to be true. I sorta think Claymates across the globe will simply dismiss the aspects of the story they deem sordid and embrace the fact that he is going to be a daddy.

I won’t comment on the unconventionality of this cause I beleive in blasting most of society’s conventions to hell. But how this gels with the story he’s been feeding his ever shrinking fanbase it another thing entirely. He sold them a bill of goods, and that will be interesting to watch this all unfold over the next few weeks, months, etc.

Even if THIS story is true, I don’t care personally. But I still don’t believe any shit until Clay himself confirms it.

I would be fascinated to know how Clay’s paternity became known. Since it was first made public by TMZ, I tend to think it wasn’t Clay’s or the mother’s decision to announce it. At least, I would think they didn’t intend to announce it in that time and fashion. If I’m correct in that assumption, I feel sorry for them. Celebrities should have the right to some kind of privacy and this goes way over the line, imo.

Frankly since it was hidden this long, I think that it was leaked purposefully. Clay seems to be really good at creating intrigue and interest in his private life, and then on the hand not wanting to talk about it. I don’t think this was a betrayal of trust, but a get those other dudes off the front pages.

Personally, I too am on board with this theory. Mostly because there are so many unwanted, neglected children in the world who have been through horrors that just steal your soul and could receive untold benefits from an acutal loving family. But, here’s where I digress:

I live in Florida – the most hypocritical of all states on this issue. Here, a gay couple can be approved as foster parents, love a child for YEARS, and have that child love them back. That child may wish to never, ever be removed from the care of their unorthodox family, but alas, that’s just too freaking bad. Because you see, while gay couples can foster kids in FL – they cannot adopt. So, after caring for a child for years, that same child may be forced to go back into the adoption pool, or be adopted by blood relatives who are heinous, simply because their foster family doesn’t have the correct X Y chromosome makeup that many think they should have.

So, if one were to go under the assumption that Clay is in fact gay (I have no opinion one way or the other – this is just for the sake of argument), this may indeed be the only way he can ever parent a child.

This is all kinds of odd. Are they breeding a ‘super musician’? So, did that article say that Clay and Jaymes live together? Or do Jaymes and David Foster live together?

I don’t know why I jumped to that conclusion. LOL I must have been in shock. The DJs were all making fun of this weird story and Clay. I wish he didn’t turn into another Michael Jackson or something…..

No the pun was not intended. But now that you pointed it out I’m laughing so hard that tears are coming down my face.

And to be honest, it doesn’t confirm anything. I was just making the point that one would not have to be crazy to think along those lines, since it is not a real common thing for straight men to do. This kind of thing is more associated with gay males. I know people get touchy about anyone calling Clay gay, but I argue that there is such a thing as being too defensive. It’s okay to acknowledge that he’s done something that gives people a legitimate reason to suspect the obvious.

Yeah, that’s going to be the counter argument right there. And it may very well be the explanation. Or not. More power to them in any case. I actually think Clay is a good guy, so I imagine he’d be a great dad.

Congrats Clay and Jaymes. Wishing you all the best with your new addition. Not a follower of Clay’s but I have caught some of his interviews on tv and find him to be incredibly funny and self deprecating. Clay’s gunna be a great daddy.

Seriously, who cares the who, what, where and how this happened. Two people decided to have a baby, granted not in the conventional fashion, but one thing can not be denied….this was no oops baby. This child will always know that he/she was planned, wanted and loved. What more could a child ask for???

Has anyone ever noticed how great Clay is around children? He was a great school teacher before Idol and when he was on the show AYSTAFG?, he did an amazing job with those kiddos. If this is what Clay wants, more power to him and the lady helping to make a dream come true.

(ii) Jaymes and Clay are living together (as lovers? as friends?)
(iii) Clay impregnated Jaymes by means of IUI or IVF
(iv) Jaymes had a divorce 2 years ago (so her being married for 23 years ended two years ago).

And I still don’t know what is going on. Clay never showed/told the public that he’s dating his producer (or dating at all). And from what I can see, Clay is very gay.

It really upsets me when someone says they heard DC is gay. That is so dumb–he is anything but gay. Some rabid Archie fans started that rumor all over YouTube not to mention a whole lot of other untrue comments to discourage people from voting for him. Last year they spread the rumor that Blake Lewis was gay to knock him down during the competition so much so that he went on the air screaming he was not gay. People can be so mean spirited.

But I do believe there are some minute demeanor that one can tell if a person has a tendency to be gay. I have about a dozen gay friends and by all I know they are gay the first few times I got to talk to them. For one, I directly told him that he’s so gay even though at that time, he had a girlfriend and he’s a devout Christian and he even tried to argue with me that the bible says gay is wrong (I myself believe it’s a biological issue rather than moral issue). In the end, he came out.

So, I am not saying I have that kind of power to know who’s gay and who’s not. But I (and many) do have that kind of gut feeling. This is what I felt. And no, David Cook is not a bit gay to me . This is just a personal opinion.
