The Celebrity Apprentice final two, Clay Aiken and Arsenio Hall dropped by The Wendy Williams show last week to chat about Sunday’s face off.  The two will produce competing charity events that will determine who wins the competition.

Tune in on Sunday at 9/8c pm on NBC for the LIVE results!

I thought that Wendy was right when she said that Arsenio is a “soft” player. Still don’t think that he deserves to be in the finale, and it’s only because Trump likes him. I also don’t buy the he voluntarily walked away from his show and at the time, I believe that the Farrakhan interview was responsible for pushing him out (the interview was in February 1994, and the show was cancelled in May 1994). It’s the same way that I feel when politicians say that they are quitting/retiring to “spend more time with their families” – BS.

    Meanwhile, Trump tweeted this:

    Donald J. Trump
    ?@realDonaldTrump
The @ArsenioOfficial & @ClayAiken #CelebrityApprentice live finale is going to shock you! MUST SEE TV…9 pm Sunday on NBC

I’m not sure what could be such a shock, other than Trump naming someone other than the final two as the CA. lol Or maybe, he means that there will be lots of live fights? Still probably not “shocking”.

I agree that Arsenio was not a strong player. He won tasks because he had strong players on his team. My shock would be if Clay does not win as he has been by far the stronger player.

Loved the interview as Wendy as always says it like it is.Clay seems to be happy and relaxed.

I did not watch Arsenio and no nothing about why he was cancelled. Will have to do a goggle search.

Well, I’m coming from a very different place.  I knew Arsenio Hall from his show which I absolutely adored.  There’s no way I’m watching the Celebrity Apprentice so I know nothing about that world.  I did watch this interview.  I have no reason to not believe Arsenio.  Although he was cut off and didn’t say everything he would have liked to, he did make clear that although he had the money and the fame, he didn’t have a personal life while doing the show, and that was the determining factor in ending his talk show.  As he said, there are numerous real examples of people of color getting shafted, so save your anger for those cases.  I do hope he gets back on the air.  Love that guy.

Although I know nothing of why Arsenio quit his show. Most shows have limited time for guests. As Wendy said” you had a talk show.” I actually think Arsenio took up the majority of the time talking about his life.

Yeah, Arsenio did take up alot of time in this interview talking about the situation around the cancellation, but than again, this is a HUUUUUGE topic for many.  When a super popular show abruptly ends, rumors fly and then they solidify over time into popular myth.  Finally addressing those rumors that have become so solidified does take some time, or it comes off as easily dismissed stock answers like, ‘I left to spend time with my family’.  Fleshing that out to share what is meaningful to him is important.  I’m glad Wendy gave him a forum to do so.

The video posted above is an edited version of what actually aired.

I knew Arsenio and knew people who worked with him back then. I have no reason to not believe what he says here and it is in line to what I heard then. It’s hard for people to understand walking away from big money. But sometimes money isn’t everything.

I’m sure there are a lot of people who think neither Clay nor Arsenio should be the last two standing. I’m pleased with it and will be pleased with either winning.

I’ve been watching this and think Clay’s done fantastic. I didn’t see Aubrey’s elimination week so sorry to have missed it. I’d like to have seen an Aubrey versus Clay finale. For me, she brought a whole lot more to the table than Arsenio for sure, confidence not withstanding lol. And I was sorry to see Arsenio’s sort of nasty side about the women. Arsenio IS a very soft player, I don’t really remember specifically anything interesting that he contributed.

That was a nice interview. Clay and Arsenio seem to have a nice, playful relationship with each other. Clay and Ruben always got along well too. I still hope Clay wins this.

Poor Clay barely got a word in.

I have a hard time watching Wendy because she is so scatterbrained, but I was glad I caught the show yesterday.  Clay and Arsenio were two of the most likable characters on this years Celebrity Apprentice.  I do think Clay was more of a player and deserves to win over Arsenio.

how the hell is Arsenio 56 years old? he and Clay look about the same age…

  • fuzzywuzzy

Arsenio is very youthful looking. He’s easily old enough to be Clay’s father (Clay is 33).

  • stargazed

Clay worked at Celebrity Apprentice while Arsenio let others carry the load for him.  It did seem that Trump paved the way for him to be in the finals.

After Arsenio and Aubrey battled the other day, John Rich tweeted:

Quote:John Rich @johnrich Reply Retweet Favorite ·More @clayaiken for the win on C.Appren. @AubreyODay and @ArsenioOFFICIAL have verbally cut each other to pieces. Can you say CHARITY? #claywins

Interesting article on a young girl with HIV who inspired Magic Johnson:

I doubt that the timing of this posting is coincidental.  ;)

I’m not a huge fan of Wendy Williams, but enjoyed the interview.  I was glad Arsenio got a chance to make it known why he left his show, it was sweet.  Clay didn’t say too much, but I really enjoyed his last line!

I really like the friendship that developed between these two guys, but really, Arsenio does not belong in the finals. I would really hate to see Aubrey there, since she was so destructive to any team efforts, so Lisa I guess is a better finalist. However, I’ll be watching and rooting for Clay.

LOL – Arsenio did not give him a chance to talk.  That man is very hyper.
I listened to another interview and every time Clay was asked a question and Clay was answering – here comes Arsenio – blathering away.  Like Clay said, he knows when to talk and when not to talk.
    Clay for the win!!!

  • fuzzywuzzy

I’ve read speculation that Arsenio left his show so suddenly because someone threatened to out him. If Arsenio is gay, I wonder if Clay knows?

  • fuzzywuzzy

I think that I’ve found what may be one “shock” about the Celebrity Apprentice finale. lol

    http://insidetv.ew.com/2012/05/17/celebrity-apprentice-donald-trump-finale/

except, it really isn’t a “shock” IMO.  lol If Trump makes his entrance to the finale like this, it will just be weird and ridiculous.

I didn’t know Arsenio from Adam (no pun intended) and only know him from this year’s CA.  I like him, seems like a nice guy when he’s not losing his temper, but I also feel that he is a ‘soft’ player and doesn’t really deserve to be in the final two.

I think Clay worked a lot harder than Arsenio and I really hope he wins, as he said, ‘the whole enchilada.’

What a nice interview.  I like both of these guys.  Arsenio’s kid is really cute.

  • Allison

I can’t wait for the finale tonight. I really hope Clay wins. Both nice guys, but as was said before, Arsenio was a “soft” player.
I was at the NBC store on Friday when Clay & Arsenio were signing autographs and if the sheer numbers of people that were there for Clay count for anything he should prevail.

  • Penny Burke

They were on The Today Show this morning.
