I will second mj’s opinion on that. The HPF songs have been given new treatments and rearranged. If you’re a Sligh fan, it’s like being a Beatle fan – you don’t mind having multiple versions of their songs, even outtakes…

“In a Moment” still has the key change, but it’s been “masked”, as Chris says. If you go to his blog, you will see that he’s been giving some background on the meaning of each song and what went into that process of creating each of them. He hasn’t finished writing up all of the songs yet, but you can get a feel for what he has done.

“Loaded Gun” was given an “Eleanor Rigby” feel to the recorded version. The live Westerly version rocks out, in comparison (a completely different arrangement).

This is a remarkable album from a remarkable man. It is a highly polished record that will probably rock out more live, similar to the live Westerly renditions, unless Chris surprises us again…

Yeah, I would, because the re-recorded songs are different enough, that it’s worth having the second version.

This is a superb effort. Sligh has a knack for creating beautiful, catchy melodies. On top of his great songwriting skills, he has a beautiful recording voice.

Although this is just his debut album, I think the songs and the voice are better than many of the CCM CDs I have. None of the tracks are “weak” or boring, in my opinion.

Overall, I like the slower songs better than the uptempo ones. My favorite track is definitely Vessel, followed by In a Moment, Empty Me, and Loaded Gun (the strings are cool).
