Chris Rene Performs for Yahoo Music (VIDEO)

X Factor 3rd place finisher, Chris Rene stopped by Yahoo music to sing his current single “Trouble” (co-written by Idol alum, Alex Lambert) and his signature X Factor audition song, “Young Homie.” He also gave the Yahoo audience a sneak peek of his song “Title Wave.”

The debut album is set to come out in October, and Chris reveals that Simon Cowell has overseen all of the song selections. Chris has co-written nearly every song on the record and describes it as “a little bit of singer/songwriter with some hip hop,” and “a lot of meaning behind it…a lot of soul.”

    Title? Or Tidal?

    He seems to be the only one (and Marcus, to some extent) chugging along among X-Factor alums. The new season is about to start and they don’t have a whole lot to show for its “success”.

    Really? Chris is played all over the radio. Rachel is on tv and on tour right now. Marcus is getting positive reviews for his music. Astro and Melanie coming out later this year. I think it’s pretty good.

    I love the interview and the new songs I’ve heard so far. I can’t wait for the album! Chris doesn’t want to spill info at all. What’s that?
    Fans discovered his album pre-order post on Amazon with the title “I’M RIGHT HERE”.
    They’re already pre-ordering even without any official announcement or cover art, lol!
    He got lots of tweets about it and tweeted the title back so I guess the title is confirmed. The date, I doubt, but he still maintains it’s coming out in October. So probably a couple of weeks later.

    X-Factor isn’t idol. Usually, on X-Factor UK, the former contestants and winners release their singles and albums near or during the next season of X-Factor.
