Chris Daughtry Pays Tribute to Bon Jovi at the Songwriters Hall of Fame Awards

Chris Daughtry attended the Songwriters Hall of Fame Awards in New York City Thursday night to sing à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ll Be There For Youà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬  in tribute to Jon Bon Jovi & Richie Sambora, who were being inducted.   About Bon Jovi, who Chris and his band have toured with as an opener, he said, à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Theyà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢re like family to me now.à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ 

Daughtry’s album, Leave this Town drops on July 14.

Kara DioGuardi was also there to present an award to Tom Jones who she co-wrote with on his album.

    How cool! Talk about full circle! Must’ve been amazing to go from singing a Bon Jovi song in Idol to actually opening for them, being friends with them and now inducting them. Like it or not, Idol does make dreams come true!

    What an honor for Chris. And well deserved.
    So many established artists have met Chris and have become close friends. Jon Bon Jovi, Rob Thomas, Jason Wade, Chad Kroeger, etc.
