Deadline is reporting that Chord Overstreet is in talks to return to Glee Season 4 as a season regular:

Some of their characters may have left McKinley High and Ohio but practically none of Glee‘s regulars is leaving the show. Additionally, I’ve learned that Chord Overstreet is in talks to return next season, this time as a regular. Overstreet joined Glee in Season 2 as a recurring, left at the end of the season and then came back midway through Season 3.

You may recall it was summer, at around this time, that Chord would not be returning to Glee after he was denied a promotion from guest star status to Glee regular. But at Comic Con, a few weeks later, it was reported Chord declined a 10 episode deal.

Chord wouldn’t be gone for good. Eventually, the actor decided to take the original offer to guest star. He  returned to Glee in the role of Sam Evans beginning at episode 8 and remained with the show for the rest of the season.

When it was announced at the end of the season that Chord was a junior, it seemed like a safe bet he’d be returning to take a seat in the McKinley choir room as some of the graduating seniors moved on to post-Glee lives.  But the question remained. Would Chord finally be a series regular? Looks like the answer is yes.

Co-creator, Ryan Murphy invited all 15 of  the current season regulars, to return to Glee in some capacity for season 4.  They’ve all agreed to return including,  Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Matthew Morrison, Jane Lynch, Chris Colfer, Naya Rivera, Kevin McHale, Darren Criss, Amber Riley, Jenna Ushkowitz, Jayma Mays, Dianna Agron, Mark Salling, Harry Shum Jr and Heather Morris.

Only Lea has been confirmed for all 22 episodes, although I expect Chris (who is a confirmed part of the New York City show-within-a-show ) and Cory to be back for most of the season.

Kate Hudson and Sarah Jessica Parker are booked for mulit-episode arcs (as mentors to Rachel (Lea Michele) and Kurt (Chris Colfer) respectively. American Idol runner-up, Jessica Sanchez is in talks to guest star.

Congrats on your promotion, Trouty Mouth!

The show should be cancelled. They water down every song they do and Lea Michele sounds like one of those bland Disney animated princesses. Boring.

Thank you Glee! He is one of my favorite actors on the show.

I used to love that show, but I stopped watching it regularly some time during season 2. Not even the songs are as good anymore. Zzzzzz.

Good for Chord. He should take any paycheque offered to him because once Glee ends I don’t see him getting a lot of steady work. Just saying…

I liked his character, Sam.  In the real world there are families that are poor, that the parents can’t get work, and that are homeless.  I cried at the episode where Rachel and Finn came to the hotel room where Sam was staying with his yunger brother and sister.

I also believe he is an attractive guy, especially when he was doing the Justin Beiber songs.  Looking forward to seeing him next season!
