Cher Lloyd Covers “Dancing On My Own” by Robyn (VIDEO)

Cher Lloyd, is yet another Simon Cowell protege from X Factor UK. She competed against One Direction 2 years ago and came in 4th behind the boyband’s 3rd place finish. Cher’s latest single “Want U Back” is currently climbing up the US charts.

Cher’s music is pure pop confection–as sticky sweet as cotton candy–but you might see her in a different light after checking out her acoustic cover of Robyn’s hit song, “Dancing on My Own.” She’s not a great technical singer, but she shows more vulnerability here than I would have expected.

The song is a live performance shot at a recent concert at the Canal Club in New York City.

    She’s performed this on the streets of New York about a month ago for random passerbys.

    I personally love her voice. I think she has quite a bit of range in it.

    I liked Cher from when I first saw her on X-Factor. Sometimes a good singer doesn’t need the best voice, but it’s what they do with it. I love her quirkiness.
