Chelsee Oaks and Rob Bolin Competed on “Can You Duet”

Since my memory is crap these days, I needed a faithful reader to gently remind me that Nashville ex-couple, Chelsee Oaks and Rob Bolin were NOT unknown to 19 Entertainment!

They competed on the CMT vocal competition show, Can You Duet, back in 2009. I covered it. That show, like Idol, was produced by 19E and Freemantle Media.

The duo, still very much together at the time, were eliminated after performing “Boondocks” by Little Big Town at the Top 5. I lamented that the couple deserved another week, while judge Naomi Judd told Chelsee, more or less, that she was too good for Rob. Maybe Chelsee took that advice to heart? Heh.

After the jump, watch Chelsee and Rob perform and then get eliminated on Can You Duet. Steel Magnolias were the duo who won and were eventually signed by Big Machine Records. Label chief Scott Borchetta had a seat on the panel.
