CMT definitely wanted to brag about its sales effect :) In Carrie’s case I expect the release of the See You Again video helped too. There’s also the difference between performing a current single versus a new song versus a song that already had its chart run. For the sake of a more complete picture, here are the numbers for single and album sales bumps, so you can see how much a certain percent increase actually means:

Florida-Georgia Line, Cruise (top-10 CHR, top-15 HAC, hit #1 country last December): 225k (+15%, 4.095 million sold combining original sales with Nelly remix sales-lead single), Album sold 28k (+26%) for total of 694k since Dec 2012 release

Darius Rucker with Lady Antebellum, Wagon Wheel (multi-week #1 a couple weeks ago): 120k (+25%, 1.504 million sold), Album sold 33k for 3 week total of 158k

Luke Bryan, Crash My Party (#4 and bulleted on country airplay chart): 79k (+11%, 705k sold in 9 weeks-lead single)

Hunter Hayes, I Want Crazy (#12 and bulleted on country airplay chart): 68k (+25%, 557k sold in 9 weeks-lead single)

Miranda Lambert, Mama’s Broken Heart (peaked about a 6 weeks ago at #1 MB/#2 Billboard): 44k (+7%, 1.18 million sold, 4th single), Album bump: of +4% to 5.7k, album sales total: 853k since Nov 2011 release

Carrie Underwood, See You Again (#13 and bulleted on country airplay chart): 39k (+69%, 227k sold, 4th single), Album sold 6.7k (+22%) for total of 1.463 million since May 2012 release

Keith Urban, Little Bit Of Everything (#17 and bulleted on country airplay chart): 32k (+63%, 110k sold in 4 weeks, lead single)

Kacey Musgraves, Blowin’ Smoke (#26 and bulleted on country airplay chart: 19k (+118%, 62k sold, 2nd single), Album sold 6.8k (+33%) for total of 143k since March 2013 release

Lady Antebellum, Goodbye Town (#20 and bulleted on country airplay chart): 13k (+88%, 40k, 2nd single), Album sold 20k for total of 302k in 5 weeks

Taylor Swift, Red (not yet released to country radio): sales unknown but less than 9.8k, single has sold 860k since album release, Album sold 11k (-11%) for total of 3.696 million since October 2012 release

Out of the side stage acts, the only one whose sales were enough to get back in the t200 of song sales (Cassadee was debuting there) was the guy who performed a song that had hit #1, Randy Houser:

Randy Houser, How Country Feels (hit #1 in January): 11.2k (766.5k total), Album sold 3.5k (+8%) for total of 103k since Jan 2013 release

What i remember for Cassedee’s song that day is that it got red update on kwob site so no bump there, don’t know where this sales increases came from

  • macfae

Kree’s numbers with bump probably don’t add up to much but I’m happy to see her get any increase at all. That cd/ep can’t come out soon enough for me.

btw, I found a sight with some of her old recordings on it that are really great :

I saw this site mentioned on twitter. I will definitely check in out.

I’m pretty certain she’s still in Nashville. Looks like her BFF, Kasey Musgrave, will be on the Bonnaroo festival stage this Sunday – could Kree be making a guest appearance? :)
The festival will be on livestream:

I also had to smile at this: there are now phone, ipod, ipad cases with the lyrics from Kree’s new single, All Cried out.

Kasey has one too, guess what this song is?

  • maymay

CMT performance kept her single sales from dropping fast.

  • macfae

how cool ! I am tempted to buy one.

My niece and nephew are at Bonnaroo. It’s much more organized than in the beginnings but still too much of a zoo for me. But WOW what a great list of performers that I would love to see.
Yes, I bet Kree will be there..
    ….thanks for the links !

just came across this tweet from Cassadee Pope – interesting that she feels the need to “clarify”

    Cassadee Pope ?

Clarification tweet. @blakeshelton did not push me into country. Did myself with his support. Sang country as a kid & I’m back to my roots!

  • Lori

Actually I’m not surprised at her tweet. Just think of all the comments on this board about her being “fake country” and such.

  • Chris

I never thought Blake pushed her into country. I thought he was surprised she signed with a country label. If anyone “pushed” or encouraged her into country I bet it was the label that signs The Voice winners. “Sang country as a kid” could be just 1 song 1 time and doesn’t mean she’s country or back to her roots lol. Has anyone found a video of her singing country as a kid? Her heart is pop and she formed a pop band. Country artists sang country growing up. Also her song is pop.
